Just had a lucid dream and remembered to shout out "This is a dream!" (I watched this vid before i got to bed!) Still i felt a bit scared that my real body would do exactly the same thing!
im having lucid dreams for 5 years now its my second world there i got my own kignship im a god i know people there my first time was scary but the second time i controlled it now in 5 years time i got a hole world there
it sounds weird but its amazing i love to sleep now =D
I've licked a brick wall, and rubbed my back up against one once. Needless to say, they both helped to stabilize the dream even though they were both embarrassing. xD
it would be extremely fun if a full-scale movie like that was made.
with sci-fi effects to present a particular effects that the presenter speaks of - teaching us lucid dreaming, while filming himself from a camera that he took inside his dream to walk us through it. inception would so suck this movies' balls.
Last night, I had my first lucid dream, but for some reason I had more control than I should have. It took me a little while to realize I was dreaming, but when I did, I could do whatever I wanted! Somehow, I even woke myself up on que! The weirdest thing in the dream was that the clock was in russian, then hieroglyphics, then a weird language I don't recognize!
@4:40 " ... dream that has been given to us ... " you are in a stairwell at this point, a building reps the self in dream symbology. so if the dream material is to be "given to us" does on leave the building and if so via some exit of the building or is a transition provided or does the perceptic just skip to the provided material ? and what for the person who is not acclimatized to this work ? how to stabalize the thought-stream so as to not wake b4 obtaining the dram material ...
@felix: I can now wake-on-demand and do so whenever the dream has gone dis-comforting and is producing no useful forward gain ( i.e. useful information ) can do this while dreaming on storms ( which is turbulent times soon or actual storm near ) and as well skip out on privert stuff that i decide is dicey or too wrong or just plain "not-needed" info that is not of use to be "on-the-list" of things to do
Wow, everyone use his reality check thing. Last night i looked at my hand and my fingers were conjoined together haha. (I knew i was dreaming then, but lost the dream within like 10 seconds)
i was starting to get the feeling that i was dreaming. So i remembered reading that in dreams your fingers will be all wierd. So i learned that i was dreaming! I actually kept the dream. I didn't wake up. I flew, turned my self into a hunter from left 4 dead, and made love to the girl i have had a crush on.
This is the coolest educational lucid dream video Ive ever seen. What a great way to teach all the different tips and tricks. This has helped me so much. Major kudos Tim! cant wait till I can have a lucid dream, its been almost a year now.
Unfortunately for whatever reason maybe I'm just to scared of what is gonna happen I dont know. But in these lucid nightmare circumstances I usually can't gain control over the dream like pull a machine gun out of my pocket or fly away even though I am lucid. I usually just end up waking myself up before the creature jumps out. Anyone else experience anything similiar? and perhaps over came it and gained control?
well just become stronger than your fear. face the fear in dreams or in awake state. like u can do it by creating a room wheres pure darkness, so ure in a void and imagine a creature would now jump out the darkest dark, teh scariest one you canimagine, cuz fear knows what u fear most. and in this situation, take your courage and prepare to fight back, without hatred! but with pride and love for having the gift of light inside you! nyaa (=^.^=) love respect courage will joy happyness action (=
Also I have found that I sometimes become Lucid in nightmares. For instance I'm standing in dark parking lot and have an creepy feeling like I know something bad is gonna happen something gonna jump out from the dark and start chasing me I know its gonna happen. Then I realize wait this whole situation is ridiculous what am I doing here I would never come to a place like this lol. And how am I precognitively aware that there is something lurkin in the darkness I must be dreaming.
I find most of my lucid dreaming occurs when I am having a flying a dream. As I am in flight or just before I become Lucid and start to have alot of fun However I find sometimes the dreams tend not to last as long as I would like them too once I have become lucid :( but not all the time some have lasted longer then others. Also I can only ever remember becoming lucid by realizing that something is wrong, like being able to fly.
have you ever just done something like when you are looking around in your lucid dream and feeling things just for ins tense punched threw solid steel it feel so amazingly weird
@ZeroHalo1 3 or more every night with effort. without about 1 recalled each night. if at any time you become lucid and want to let the dream take you somewhere out of your control, it is simple to carry on a certain task such as flying, for a long time without thinking about lucidity. And to answer your first question, lucidity is recreation, just like any other. I am sure there is a certain recreation in your life, whether it be a sport or youtube, that you love. Just like dreaming...
@ZeroHalo1 continued.... at some point in your life, you do something mundane, and what would you rather be doing? recreation. it does not mean that as long as your not on you tube, life is boring, it is simply a passion. And u dont necessarily have to be a "god", in fact that's ill recommended. The idea is to go places and do things you otherwise couldn't. If you had a superiority complex and so wished, you could create a world under your rules, but there are so many options.
And I especially like to use wardrobes as portals ;-) because in childhood I liked to watch "The Chronicles of Narnia" [the older version]. So I used my wardrobe as a portal to a park, or a neighbors' house, or a forest etc...
Yeah, doors may be a good portals. But for me it works only with doors that shouldn't be there ;-J [i.e. there isn't one in the real world]. Because if I'm trying to use the existing ones, there is a strange process in my mind, some kind of "tag of war": my subconscious mind "know" what is behind the door in reality and it fights my thoughts that tere is anything else. So when I'm opening it, it stuffs there the real scenery, not my imagined one, however hard I'm trying. How to deal with it?
Well, this happens because you are so used to using these doors that you expect that the things that are going to be behind the door are the things that are behind the door in real life.
Tip: Wants and expectations are two different things which will conflict given the right scenarios.
If you expect something to happen in a dream, most likely it will happen. But if you have even the slightest doubt, then either it won't happen, or it will not work properly.
For example, one night I had a dream where I tried to fly, and that didn't work. In that same dream, someone was parking a car. I wanted it to be a female, but I had a small doubt. It turned out to be a male.
Great series! There is also at least one more reason for "going along with the environment you have" and not playing "boy wizard" right from the beginning: it could actually be that your subconcious, the dreammaster so to say, is trying to get something important across to you... and your immediate wishing to be in a hot tub with three ladies would totally interrupt this "inner message".
I like your comment on shouting out "This is a dream". In one of my neatest lucid dreams ever, a family member shouted out something in German who I knew only spoke English. I said, half jokingly: "Wait! This must be a dream, right?". The family member responded that "Well, I did learn a bit of German when I was in school.". At that point I was confused and didn't know what to think. However, shortly thereafter a dream character shouted out "That's right (it's a dream)"!
thanks for that informative video! this is actually what i need to do more often, getting more into the dream than just selfishly pursuing my fun intentions and trying all that wizardry stuff... thanks for that eye-opener! i somehow knew what was going wrong in my lucid dreams, but having that fundamental information put into such a nice video really helps focusing on the basic lucid dreaming skills!

doesnt reality itself become extremely boring compared to the dream world in which you are like a god of your own universe?
Also how often do you as an advanced lucid dreamer have lucid dreams and how long do they usually last (I mean experientially how long they last)
