Temple of the dog were formed because Andrew Wood, Lead Singer of Mother Love bone died of a heroin overdose. So Chris Cornell who was Andew's roomate, approached two members of mother love bone [Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament] and formed Temple of the dog along with Mike McCready, Matt Cameron and Eddie Vedder where they wrote Say hello to Heaven and Reach down as a tribute to Andrew!

HUH? Maybe you are confused because you heard Audioslave perform them live, but all are directly off the Temple of The Dog Album. Being that all TOTD and Audioslave songs were either written or co-written by Chris Cornell it's mostly academic anyway I guess.

I'm sure a lot don't know that Temple of the Dog gave birth to BOTH Pearl Jam & Soundgarden, and if you really want to talk truth here, it was Temple of the Dog, Nirvana, and Metallica, that changed music in 1990-1991.

Still my favorite era of music is 1990-1995. Same for SNL. Weird.
