Charmed was like Buffy. The first three seasons were amazing TV and are what people remember most about the series. The seasons after that just rode the popularity of the earlier ones before finally being wound down.
Paige's character was terrible and too convenient a way to keep Charmed going.
I had always liked Charmed I watched it over several times. But I guess what happened happened and they were able to pull of the show. In the case of the good audience response.
I don't think it's a matter of "better" as PierrKEV stated. When you have several strong women working together, it's bound to happen and quite normal. I personally enjoyed the show because they made an amazing team. Good luck with them all.
I am more on the side of Milano because Doherty has a rep for being difficult to deal with, i mean i am sure Milano is no angel but she does not have the rep that Shannon does .With this case though Shannon left because they were not gonna get rid of Milano to keep Doherty because lets face it they are in the same B class type of actors they are not exactly Sandra Bullock.I am glad they kept Milano i like her more but i still would have rather had seen Shannen stay instead of having McGowan.
I never quite understood how Shannen could have been unhappy with anything. 99% of the episodes during the first 3 years of the show were completely centered around Prue. She got all the interesting, cool storylines and Holly and Alyssa were pushed into the background constantly. Maybe Alyssa and others wanted a change in that. Shannen seems to me like the type to want the whole spotlight or none at all. Whatever went on, it's just so unfortunate! it will always be a favorite show of mine
@SelenaLovely720 It is Shannen's fault, it was the same deal with beverly hills 90210 why she had to "leave" and move away and brenda was never seen again, according to what i have read and seen about all of this it all paints the picture that she is really hard to work with. She is kicked off Beverly Hills 90210, the show goes on for another 8 years or so, it could have been a very steady income a nice workplace, good people and fun but NO.. This seams to happen to her alot

Im so sorry to say this. But i was so angry when she left the show i stopped watching it. Now that i have been catching up on the shows i missed it got better when she left. Its like it lightned up or something. And honestly it was no suprise, she leaves every show she is on
What I didn't like about Prue is that every episode was about her. After she left the distribution of the story was more even between the 3 characters.

I think they should do The Sons of Ispwich, another Charmed, but with five male witches. I would love even to play a demon on the show.
Well Constance left the series because the way Brad Kern was taking the series and that's why Shannon wanted to produce that's why you see her producing the last episode. That's why on Season 4 Holly and Alyssa became producers of the show because Shannon left their was no choice The series would of ended.
I love Shannen but Charmed was better off without her. Almost every thing was about her and that changed when she left. I became more about The Carmed One's than The Charmed One!

Holly had no problem with Shannen. They were best friends. She may have developed a problem with Alyssa but that's minor to the fact that she had problems with the shows direction. She wanted nothing but the best for the show and Brad didn't like her opinions.
I think Alyssa Milano was one of the minor reasons she wanted to leave. I believe the big issue was Brad Kern. Shannen wanted the best for the show. Holly has said this and has said she even helped promote the show. She wanted the show to be about sisters and to have a darker tone. Once Constance left, she did not like the new direction the show was taking. Brad had a problem with Shannen's directness and opinion. Season 1-3 were the best. After season 4, things changed too much.
I absolutely adore Shannen. I agree with Pinkrangr 87 that she missed Constance Burge and felt betrayed by Brad Kern and his vision of the show's direction. I admire her courage to be her own person when she knew she would get it from the press.

As much as I prefer Prue to Paige, Shannen Doherty seems like she just needs to calm down a bit. I can understand what she meant when she said that she wants to work with actors who want to be doing their job every day, because it would really suck having people who have been incredibly fortunate in securing high-profile jobs bitching and whining about them all the time! But again, no one really knows the full story about her departure, other than those involved.
Actually after looking it up some more I found out that the real deal was that when Alyssa Milano took the became a producer that one of the terms was for Shannon to leave the show. But that in public they put the blame on Sannon because it was easy for people to believe given her history and all.

@MiZzLoTtii3 if u have the last season of charmed on the special features they said that shannen got holly the part of piper & that alyssa wasnt the first pick she didnt come into contract with holly and shannen...they had recorded the whole first season with someone else playing phoebe..but things didnt work out with the first grl so they casted alyssa...i seen somethin on e! and vh1 that shannen always is in some shyt with her cast members...so this feud with her and alyssa isnt shocking..

i think its funny that shes like, "i wanna work with actors who WANT to do the work" and then shannen doherty just like, never made any major shows or movies after that. she was the fuckin host of scare tactics. and alyssa milano has been in a few good things since so im thinking Shannen was the real problem. And if she didnt think the work was good enough for her, i wouldnt her to be on the show i love more than anything, with a bad attitude.

Im so sorry to say this. But i was so angry when she left the show i stopped watching it. Now that i have been catching up on the shows i missed it got better when she left. Its like it lightned up or something. And honestly it was no suprise, she leaves every show she is on

I loved Shannen as well. Rose was good. Holly was one of my favorites. I liked Alyssa as well, but she shouldn't have been a "drama" queen. I think Rose should have been introduced as the half-sister, but then the "Power of Three" would become the "Power of Four". I think they should do The Sons of Ispwich, another Charmed, but with five male witches. I would love even to play a demon on the show.

Well Constance left the series because the way Brad Kern was taking the series and that's why Shannon wanted to produce that's why you see her producing the last episode. That's why on Season 4 Holly and Alyssa became producers of the show because Shannon left their was no choice The series would of ended.

Holly had no problem with Shannen. They were best friends. She may have developed a problem with Alyssa but that's minor to the fact that she had problems with the shows direction. She wanted nothing but the best for the show and Brad didn't like her opinions.

I think Alyssa Milano was one of the minor reasons she wanted to leave. I believe the big issue was Brad Kern. Shannen wanted the best for the show. Holly has said this and has said she even helped promote the show. She wanted the show to be about sisters and to have a darker tone. Once Constance left, she did not like the new direction the show was taking. Brad had a problem with Shannen's directness and opinion. Season 1-3 were the best. After season 4, things changed too much.

I absolutely adore Shannen. I agree with Pinkrangr 87 that she missed Constance Burge and felt betrayed by Brad Kern and his vision of the show's direction. I admire her courage to be her own person when she knew she would get it from the press.

I think I'd get along great with Shannen - we seem alike. I don't want to work with people who don't care about what they're doing - I was the only student in my Theater class who actually cared last year - I can relate to Shannen on several levels. And to all the haters - just try ONE DAY in show business and see how tough it is - then maybe your opinion will change, I dunno.

As much as I prefer Prue to Paige, Shannen Doherty seems like she just needs to calm down a bit. I can understand what she meant when she said that she wants to work with actors who want to be doing their job every day, because it would really suck having people who have been incredibly fortunate in securing high-profile jobs bitching and whining about them all the time! But again, no one really knows the full story about her departure, other than those involved.

Actually after looking it up some more I found out that the real deal was that when Alyssa Milano took the became a producer that one of the terms was for Shannon to leave the show. But that in public they put the blame on Sannon because it was easy for people to believe given her history and all.
Actually I think Prue was a better story line as well. Just Paige got bullied around too much for my tastes.

i think each of them brought something different. with paige they played around with the fact that she was unexperianced and young, but when shannon left i think the writers started to focus all of the episodes around one big issue instead of mini ones each episode.
