As a Trekker from 1966, didn't go to the movie. 30-year old son brought the video home and said, ya gotta watch it, mom...No Sam Vulcan gone, the kids are okay as young guys. Quinto, probably the best. Spooky with the guy who played McCoy. Not my Star Trek.

Its nice to everyone made it to the Star Trek: New Reality premiere in Hollywood, CA.

Anyway, in the next upcoming Star Trek: New Reality 2 movie, I would like to see Mr. Shatner be cast as Emperor Tiberius Kirk (Mirror Universe), along with the remaining TOS cast members (who are still alive) as their Mirror Universe counter-parts.

Mr. Nimoy would be re-cast to play Old Spock (23-24th Century Reality TOS-TNG) from the previous movie.

Well, ONE of them WAS there. At least 3 major cast & 3 peripheral key players as well as the father of this, um, enterprise all dead, that leaves Takei, Nichols, Koenig, Whitney & Shatner. The latter's exclusion is storied & controversial. Perhaps the remaining stayed clear outta solidarity. I saw the movie, but I'd not have shown at any PR events to show my civil contempt at Bill's omission in every manner. Hell they couldn't even be bothered to step over to his cam and say a few words. Feh!

I think its pretty nice of Mr Shatner to put this vid up on his account since he wasn't given a part in the movie like Nimoy was. (there was some talk about a cameo, but I don't know how accurate that was) I hope they make it up to him in the next movie and write him in too (for more than a cameo)

Well first off, Nimoy was undoubtedly paid to say "dickheads" on SNL. Secondly, when it comes down to it, Star Trek is JUST a fictitious franchise about fictional characters traveling space. In a way, he's really saying "hey, it's a just movie that alot of people worked hard to create, so just shut up and enjoy it for what it is."

Personally, I will ALWAYS love TOS more than the new crap. The new, young actors just are not the same at all. And I'm young, not a 40-60 year old who grew up on it.

I'm a big Trek fan, but I look at this video and I think what a celebrity sucking culture we breed. It's nonsensically insane. A lot of nutty fun for the fans as long as it doesn't go to the head of the 'celebrity'.

They wrote a cameo part for The Shat. When Spock Prime was explaining to Spock that he and Kirk would become best friends, he would have shown Spock a holographic birthday message from Kirk, where Kirk explains how much their friendship meant to him. It would have been Shatner in the hooographic message, but Shatner turned it down. I think it would have been fantastic and wold have generated a huge applause from the audience. I guess part of The Shat Ego still lives on.

Great Movie, I was very happy with the casting in it.. (Sorry Mr. Shatner) after seeing the movie I get why he said it wouldnt work with him in it.. You really couldnt even do a flashback from Kirk's perspective.. Im looking forward to the next one.
