I used Ableton Live.

It's a $500 dollar program but thanks to the wonderful world of torrenting there are ways to get around that hefty price tag (not legally of course).

I use Ableton Live which is the go-to software for both creating mash-up tracks and playing live mash-ups.

It's QUITE a pricy program, though. Usually costs $500.

However, if you are comfortable with the whole illegal downloading scene, there are torrents of Ableton that you can get.

Traktor is also a great program for live DJing and live mash-ups. Not as many recording and producing abilities as Ableton but much more intuitive (and fun, I think).
