Commonwealth Vintage Dancers - Returning Heroes Ball

Takes so much of the fun of the dancing out of the event for newcomers to be told they cannot go if not wearing the appropriate attire. Is it a costume contest, dance contest, or fun social? Perhaps so many more wouldn't be frightened off by the vintage dance community without such high pressure elitism from those within the community?
