wow i really miss toonami it was what introduced me to DBZ and so many other great animes now the only good show on cartoon network is the Regular Show which is awesome, but it doesn't fill the void that toonami left :(
i grew up with tom man, he was there the year i was born and i remember watching miguzi then toonami seeing tom eveyday and then when he was gone so was a bit of cartoon network. i loved cartoon network from beginning to the end of cartoon network invaded, which was awesome to me then 6teen and total drama island. that was the true cartoon network man.

first of all guys it was not Naruto or Bobobo or any shows that caused Toonami's downfall.The reason Toonami was cancelled (and you can reasearch this) was because of MONEY.Toonami wasn't raining in the dough like they hoped so it got cut,which caused them to be on a tight budget.As you can see now "CN real" is aiming for a different type of programming (reality shows) which were a cheaper alternative than the Toonami programming.It was a bad idea on CN's part.Ratings are still plummeting....

Hopefully you do know the difference between a dub and a sub, because believe it or not, they are two different things. The DUB that they aired on Toonami, led to people that would usually watch Toonami to quit watching because it was flooded with 10 year olds going NINJAS R DAH BESTESTS.

Words cannot describe how much happiness toonami has brought me through all the years i watched it, how much joy and adrenalin i have got ever since moltar was first the original star of the broadcast. additionally words cant also describe how sad i was when they finally went off, witch was the most unexpected moment in my life THUS far because there was no warning, no "end marathon nuclear block" that should've lasted a week or more showing all the good old days from start

Man from 1997 - 2009 I loved all the shows aired on Toonami and became the greatest action cartoons Kids program of all time some of the greates Action shows ever shown fromt he past and present. Im truly thankful to have grown up in that era and sad it ended....

Cartoon network has been slowly killing off anime for the last 5-6 yrs. And toonami, the most anime-friendly host we knew had to go with it. Naruto had nothing to do with it. When Cartoon network got it's 2007 revision, a lot of anime went out the door, and a lot of stupid crap walked right in. Adult swim has also cut it's generous anime hosting since it's beginning. So blame CN for Toonami...They're apparently under new management...
I don't think it was anyones fault, when these things get a certain age they stop it even if it is super popular. The reason is usually because they want to end it when its liked not when it gets old and stale and no one wants it anymore. They do the same thing with tv shows. The only exception I can think of is the simpsons.
It was no ones fault but cartoon networks..they didnt want to have to keep paying funimation.... so they decided to shut it down...i think they should do what they did with boomerang and give toonami its own channel.... thats just my opinion..please dont hate me for it

They started cutting the time of the show down and eventually only played on Saturdays its all about the ratings, they weren't playing the golden shows of Toonami they played prince of tennis and mars or w/e its called.... At the time period before the shutdown (late 2007-Sept. 20, 2008), there was only one popular show on the block: Naruto. The people in charge of Toonami decided that this wasn't enough to carry an entire block. So, instead of bringing old shows back (which was smarter than the choice they made), they shut down the whole block. Sorry, Toonami fans (including ME :()

I doubt naruto had anything to do with Toonami being taken off the air mostly because as we all know when toonami had its golden age it aired 3 hours week days but also the midnight run and the rising sun, but eventually was just dedicated to a saturday time slot until it was time for AS (both airing anime shows) one such show aired on both toonami and AS (yuyu hakusho) so theoretically that would mean Toonami and AS shared a show and parents were probably complaining too much about the violence

@endwing DBZ is the highest rated Cartoon show in American history, buddy. DBZ is one of the shows that made Toonami popular, too. Honestly, I'd say it was CN just wanting to change the style. Toonami was replaced by the CN Real block, which is why it was canceled. Anime was then moved to Adult Swim.

Words cannot describe how much happiness toonami has brought me through all the years i watched it, how much joy and adrenalin i have got ever since moltar was first the original star of the broadcast. additionally words cant also describe how sad i was when they finally went off, witch was the most unexpected moment in my life THUS far because there was no warning, no "end marathon nuclear block" that should've lasted a week or more showing all the good old days from start

Man from 1997 - 2009 I loved all the shows aired on Toonami and became the greatest action cartoons Kids program of all time some of the greates Action shows ever shown fromt he past and present. Im truly thankful to have grown up in that era and sad it ended....

Cartoon network has been slowly killing off anime for the last 5-6 yrs. And toonami, the most anime-friendly host we knew had to go with it. Naruto had nothing to do with it. When Cartoon network got it's 2007 revision, a lot of anime went out the door, and a lot of stupid crap walked right in. Adult swim has also cut it's generous anime hosting since it's beginning. So blame CN for Toonami...They're apparently under new management...

I don't think it was anyones fault, when these things get a certain age they stop it even if it is super popular. The reason is usually because they want to end it when its liked not when it gets old and stale and no one wants it anymore. They do the same thing with tv shows. The only exception I can think of is the simpsons.

They started cutting the time of the show down and eventually only played on Saturdays its all about the ratings, they weren't playing the golden shows of Toonami they played prince of tennis and mars or w/e its called.... I will miss Toonami and i hope cartoon network realizes the mistake they made.

Here is the REAL reason Toonami was shut down:
At the time period before the shutdown (late 2007-Sept. 20, 2008), there was only one popular show on the block: Naruto. The people in charge of Toonami decided that this wasn't enough to carry an entire block. So, instead of bringing old shows back (which was smarter than the choice they made), they shut down the whole block. Sorry, Toonami fans (including ME :()

I doubt naruto had anything to do with Toonami being taken off the air mostly because as we all know when toonami had its golden age it aired 3 hours week days but also the midnight run and the rising sun, but eventually was just dedicated to a saturday time slot until it was time for AS (both airing anime shows) one such show aired on both toonami and AS (yuyu hakusho) so theoretically that would mean Toonami and AS shared a show and parents were probably complaining too much about the violence

@endwing DBZ is the highest rated Cartoon show in American history, buddy. DBZ is one of the shows that made Toonami popular, too. Honestly, I'd say it was CN just wanting to change the style. Toonami was replaced by the CN Real block, which is why it was canceled. Anime was then moved to Adult Swim.

The fillers had turned a lot of people away from the show, on top of the fact that LOTS of people were like "Oh my fucking god another ninja show..." and stopped watching Toonami, because nothing good was on around the time that Naruto aired.

I'll tell you who's fault it was. One it was the parents. CN got lots of complaints about the violence on toonami. This forced toonami to pick up shows like One piece and Bobobo bo blah. Second, CN got a new president who sucks and there was a big push by that president to get more live action shows. Basically they were trying to compete with Disney. Its a fucked up deal all around. But things change I guess. Good while it lasted.

Naruto fillers after sasuke left may be the blame I dont think it was the whole series and Toonami used to start at 6pm and end at 12 and since adult swim came in on saturdays (no prob with it) the time has been cut...dang.....maybe adulf swim should go full anime saturdays (Boodocks is anime too for the heads up) maybe have adult swim start a bit later.
