abuse of power exists everywhere, im form Guatemala (Central America), the police here go un checked beating who ever they want and whenever they want, arresting people for no reason at all, an the justice system es twice as bad, so u could spend weeks or even months in jail until proven innocent
Come on there are bad people in every profession in the world, doctors lawyers you name it, is it so hard to imagine that there are bad cops as well. Good news is there are more good cops than bad cops. But if think the cops in America are so bad, move to another country, try Russia, China or any South American Country and see how you are treated there, oh yea try any muslium country as well.

@muskox34 The diference between pigs and lawyers on one side and doctors on the other side is that a doctor helps people. They don't cut or give pills, they HELP. It's in their hipocratic testemonial. Police and the juridic system on the other hand takes events and searches for guilty people.

And yes this is wrong, but try being in their shoes day in day out you have people spitting being violent swearing at you etc. It wears you down real quick believe me after all were only human too!!
but what respectful person would want to be in those shoes? why should you hold authority that all of us lack? after all like you said your only human like us civilians. why give you a badge,and a gun, and special powers that separate you from everyone else? you should resign and try being content with having power over your own life and circumstances instead of having power over everyone else. you'll likely be happier and healthier in the long run.
i dont know... i'll improvise. if at all possible i will run away like a little bitch, if not i will defend my self. but i certainly wont place my survival on the fact that a cop will protect me. they would have to know that i'm in need of protection, and they would have to respond in a timely manner which is not always the case. also in most parts of the country they are not legally obligated to protect any individual, and are not always held accountable for failing to respond.
