  • fantastic explaination. really helped. keep those videos coming mate. fair play to ya! savage drumming skills

  • Great explanation, thanks!

  • work more and talk less than my brother

  • Pretty good video. Thanks. But i wondering why all gospel chops teaching vids (not just yours) has no explanation of developing foot double strokes. I mean like "How to play fast doubles without injuries. FOR DUMMIES". =)

  • @kingrich271 thanks for the lesson

  • @kingrich271 Bro..Why are you even talking to the negative ass holes? You're better than that man. You're a great musician too.

  • Lol tone down on the vulgar, you're in a chapel :)

  • Ever notice that these hater never have videos on their page. I bet their mothers wish they would have worn a TROJAN that night. SUcks to be the mother of those idiots.

  • @isnadd So with the next five minutes, mount your skull on a tom rack and I will do a buddy rich solo on that horredence face of yours.

  • @kingrich271 Dont trip off of these idiots. Keep doing your thing bro. God Bless you man!

  • @survivalofthefittful Go drink a bottle of acid!!!!

  • yea dude, you should have cut that out, where you walk away holding you crotch !

    I^m old fashion i guess.

  • note values give you musical freedom !

  • hahahah look JUST like a young Jamie Foxx....good video!

  • WoW! You have a great teaching style!!

  • for some reason my left leg is asleep

  • blasting in church! attaboyyy

  • Awesome video-thank you! I was curious though about the timing of these licks, for example would a 5/1 (6 notes) be fit into a quarter note like a 16th note triplet, but then say 4/1 (5-notes)- would you modulate the speed you are playing in order to fit 5 notes into a quarter note, slow down slightly between 16th note triplets and straight 8th notes? Or 3/1- 3/2; Would you play 3/1 as straight 8th notes but then slightly modulate your speed for 3/2 in order to play a 8th note quintuplet?

  • @infantdrugmule I dont even approach it that way. All i think about is the flow of the notes. Is this a 8th,16th, or triplet feel. I never really count while playing i only feel the flow. I then let my ears tell me how to phrase within the flow. I played drums for 15 years before i knew what a note value was so i just hear things in my head and developed the technical ability to execute it without thinking. I can feel where the one is so no matter what i do i instinctively feel my way back to 1.

  • Thanks for the chops, dude. Seriously. But there has to be a way to keep the talking to a minimum.

    You're dope, tho.

  • the numerator and denominator concept opened another new direction for me to explore. thanks for the concept bro

  • Appreciate this.

  • nigga

  • thanks for the video man! this has given me a new perspective on how to approach gospel style licks.

  • YOUR FREAKIN GENIUS MAN and your vid really helps me out

  • Thanks for your investment of time and talent. Appreciate it much! :)

  • well not to say that this guy is bad or anything, he's really good, but I don't think he understands exactly what a blast beat is haha

  • @letsago0 no thats exactly what a blast beat is, i play death metal drums and want to learn some more grooves for slower tempo playing, and i know for a fact that a blast beat is a "seperation of bass and snare" you dont need to play a hi hat/ride/china/crash with it

  • @niza4ever u don't need a video of his foot he told u what the combos are 1over 1 or 2over 2 or whatever.start slow and work ur way up in tempo. U don't want to copy somebody's foot movement it won't workout for u as well as ur own movement. Tony said in an interview he didnt get fast with his foot until he stopped trying to do other peoples techniques. He just took it slow and add 5 bpm each week to the metronome and u will get there.

  • He' s in the church!

  • how does your foot move so fast

please do a leson on that !!!

  • @niza4ever I will be doing a new set of videos very soon. Stay tuned!

  • I feel like this is just the new set of rudiments knowing 1 over 1 2 over 2 it's all just the tools for creating and I think we should all be learning these to create.

  • wow,,i dont ever comment but..this video is one of the easiest ways to start learnin gospel and or even just linear or funky licks..omg..should copyright this...ive been playing for a long ass time and im saving this vid and it aint royster or spears 's dvd,,,its this guy.....awesome!!!!

  • Now I can see clear!

  • JAMIE FOXX ?

  • @ThiiSNiiGGa I have heard that one before!

  • great teacher! subbed

  • very nice man

  • Very good lesson. You should teach privately if you don't already; you're very clear and articulate.

  • Keep these videos coming dude! This is golden stuff for me, getting into gospel drumming and all. You've got a subscriber!

  • thats right bro.... tell them!!!!

  • this is a really good, intelligent explanation :) sick drumming too :)

  • good business son,good business

  • Very nice and simple to understand yet a lot of possibilities lie within the examples.

It's any easy way to understand and get into linear drumming (thinking of them like fractions 1/1- 2/1-2/2-3/2 etc).

  • that 1 over 1 at the beginning sounds like the intro to Prince's Mountains.... jus sayin.

  • Just subbed to you. Thanks so much for these videos. You are a really great teacher bro... I always wondered why you had only one video before cause you really explained that one really clearly..

  • @Weallfart Thanks for the love. I have created more teaching videos and i am working on more that will give you a taste of my upcoming dvd! Stayed tuned I will be launching my website this year as well. Thanks for watching! peace
