For those wondering,, this is not an action packed western. There are a couple of very realistic shooting scenes, but not your typical western. But this is an incredible piece of work. The photography, lighting, and direction is unbelievable, and so is the acting. If you enjoy films for the ART of it, this is a must see. A brilliant work of cinema.

it's difficult for me to distinguish whether this is an emotional drama, or a complex action film, either way this trailer causes me to be on the fence about whether to watch this film or not, in plainer terms though, this trailer has confused me...

Oh yeah, but the movie itself is a masterpiece. I like how Jesse James is played alternatively as either just as cowardly as Robert Ford. Or Ford just as courageous as Jesse. Depending on how you look at it. I also like the Jesse is portrayed as a manic depressive suicidal sociopath. And that he has many personality types. While Ford is portrayed like the first guy in history who thought it was a good idea to shoot John Lennon.

I saw this in theatres. - During the scene when Jesse James was shot, a fat old man with a long white beard and an eyepatch stood up in the audience and embraced a gothically dressed woman for a few minutes before they both left, just before Robert Ford fled from the James' house. HAHA - most pathetic thing I've ever seen!

It's by Nick Cave... He also made the score for the "Australian Western" The Proposition, wich he also wrote the screenplay and story for. I recomend it.. It's a bit harsher and more violent than "The murder of Jesse James..." but a good movie.
