It was cancelled because Disney didn't want to fund a third season after bankrupt Tribune couldn't pay for a new season for its stations (plus Disney wants to dump ABC). Did you watch any of LotS from ep 8 onward, when it improved markedly?

@digital2500 I agree with you. This series has a lot of fantasy cliches, and I find it amusing. Eragon has cliches too, but I like it a lot. My favorite part about it is Sapphira. She is a fresh spin on the dragon cliche. There is nothing like her in the Legend of the Seeker though.

All I'm going to say is Eragon begining it's all the same, Eragons Uncle/Father dies He has to go on a Journey to kill a sutain person and save the day. An old man and a women(Saphira) will help him an teach him. Everybody in Eragons village seams to turn against him and blabla bla,...

Richard isn't sexy but his "have to save the girl and care" is sexy Along with intelligence. In the book made him sound a lot more sexier..just my opinion

I agree with what everyone says here of course it's frustrating that it doesn't look like the books but I do think it is good and TG trusted them enough to allow it And Im glad to see something other then reality shows something more original then what we are acustomed to see But of course everyone has their opinion and we should accept that

I will continue watching on, I am a bit curious on Denna, and a few other occurences, but I mean...it's upsetting.

Well, I'm glad they call it Legend of the Seeker, and not Sword of Truth.. Somehow that just makes this hybrid, warped version of SoT that much more bearable.

Richard is not a brash, careless man - not as a woods guide and no less as the lord of the D'haran Empire. This view of Richard is uncomplimentary and so far off the mark it's almost ridiculous.

I hate to be so negative about it all, but I think Terry Goodkind made a grave mistake allowing these people to do what they have done to a great series. So much of it no longer makes sense: Richard being Zedds grandson and all that it represents, Richard falling in love with Kahlan but not knowing who or what she is, the fact that it states in the book that Richard would not have had the chance to get to know Kahlan (which actually I always believed was "Kah - Lan"; not "Kay - Lan")

I think the editing and some of the directing is pretty good.. but all in all, it was a very mediocre outcome.

The only person I believe to be capable of putting this incredible series to screen is Peter Jackson.

Uh, you're all entitled to your own opinion, but the fact is that Terry Goodkind entrusted the adaptation of the books to Sam Raimi and not to previous directors because he felt that the latter didn't uphold the books the way he wanted it. And the show isn't supposed to follow the books all the way anyway...

No, that it's not just like the book (at all) does not make it a terrible show, though it is an insult to the fans. What makes it a HORRENDOUS show is the miserable script, shoddy camera work, Power Ranger props, lack of a strong cast (with the exception of Darken Rahl and Zedd, though they are still written poorly), and yes, the disregard for the original characters and storyline.
