I've always imagined the video to this song being made up of clips of 30's and 40's newsreel footage of a city as it moves through the day. It would start in early morning and follow with snippets of folks going about their work and end with the city slowly going to sleep in the evening.
May I recommend the book 'A Concise Guide To Eighties Music' by Karl Vorderman. The author is a big fan of this fine instrumental.
