  • Actually if you drop acid onto the date it will melt away the surface around the date making it visible again. This happens because the metal in the date is much denser than that of the surrounding field.

  • the 1913" normal" isnt a couple hundred dollars. its like maybe 70, these are just nickles

  • I think you need to get a 3 cent silver piece. I am looking for one in good condition but I just cant find one that is affordable.

  • wat year did all silver jefferson nickles stop being made. cause i have a 1964 jefferson nickle and i dont know if its silver.

  • jefforson nickles where never made of silver. they are all made of nickel. thats why the call them...NICKLES. 5c. peices that are made out of silver are 1/2 dimes. and they havent made thos since 1873

  • ON october 8 1942 the silver alloy nickels or wartime nickels were minted from 1942 -1945. They were composed of 56%copper, 35% silver and 9% Manganese. The nickel was elliminated from the coin because it was a crittical war material!!!

  • What you have to do is try to narrow it down,the no dates, well the ones with worn dates, you have to narrow down the varitiess and find the years they were made form, but it still only gets you relatively close.
