I really can recommand you dcc. Honest. It ook me also a long time, so I have started in 2007 with a starter set. And it is a big improvement. Lights burning when stationary, sound, tha is the most satisfying site about it, and more gadgets.

I have the Roco ASC 2000 control units which give me superb control of my locomotives.

I still have to be convinced about dcc, also the amount of Locos I have would make the cost of changing prohibitive.

I am experimenting with sound to see if I can get the right amount of base on the loco sounds and also the sound of the train as well.

This will use an external sound system.

But that's all in the future.
