I rate the American Express one a classic. I also remember the Robinson's one, too with the song and artist mentioned as above.

That's the 1988 version of "Blue Monday" in the American Express ad, isn't it?

The Robinson's ad definitely uses a slowed-down version of Frank Mills' "Music Box Dancer" - a fluke worldwide hit in 1979 several years after having been used as testcard music in the UK, where it never charted but remained familiar, not least on pre-Moir Radio 2.
