  • good stuff

  • ectasy of lightful composition

  • Awe.......

  • very cool! I like....

  • Perfection.

  • Fuck, i thought "bad sound quality" and then i realized it was live... that means that they play really good.

  • Wow. This music is amazing. I've been needing to find some new music to obsess over and this it!

  • Comment removed

  • wait a minute this is live!? i literally just quick looked up this band, and quickly went back to doing work, and I thought this was studio until I heard that guy in the audience... this is EXCELLENT!!!

  • @metalhead4894

I saw them back in August when they opened for Boris...yes they are that amazing live

  • dieses lied ist un-glaub-lich !

  • "Alone and Unaware, The Landscape Was Transformed In Front Of Our Eyes"

a cosa serve davvero il cantato in una canzone?

  • The fact that it doesn't need lyrics usually means the music is better.

  • Vocals wouldnt ruin any of there music they just need the right dude or gal! and to be wise with where the vocals came in and out..

    Wicked band love em!

  • Fantastic, very like ISIS

  • where's the lyrics? haha just kiddin. i love this band. vocals would wreck it.

  • I wish you could see more of the video in the background....looks awesome.

  • have sex to this song.high on pot

  • @Aeonius88 i don't need sex during this video, i always cum at 4:52

  • Just beautiful

  • Cu all at Gagarin athens :) Thursday

  • @az0r22 gamisan sto gagarin!!! itan foveroi!

  • @tsiapas1423 Yeap :D

  • @tsiapas1423 pote paiksane?

  • @paradox95 stis 4 noemvriou!

  • neurosis ripoff from the music to the movie in the back

  • @bharris134

LOL, are you kidding... do you know anything about the members of this band?

  • @bharris134

I love this song and lets forget that there are members from Isis and Neurosis in Red Sparowes,

The Sound ist not as heavy as Neurosis and it is more Rock than Neurosis(Metal) and it's more melodic.

Isis would be a better comparison than Neurosis, but still, Red Sparowes got their own sound and vibe.

  • amazing.

  • I can almost play from 5:24 - the end on guitar, it sounds much better when they do it..

  • classical and instrumental music are great; post-rock is great and GOOD music with GOOD lyrics is also great. These debates are so fucking useless. kill yourselves.

  • right.

  • hmmm.. i fuckin love the album "at the soundless dawn," but this performance is a little dissapointing..mostly the drummer. he stayed on the high hat too much, and his fills were unsatisfying. the band just didnt blend together as well as they do on the album. kind of an ameteurish feel. oh well. this is the only performance ive seen of them, maybe others have been better..

  • @junks7 Don't see it. BE THERE. You don't care about those things when you see them. I have NEVER felt anything similar in my life as what I felt when I saw Red Sparowes today. I have seen enough concerts to safely be able to tell what is good or not. Red Sparowes isn't good, nor is it bad. It transcends such descriptions all together. It cannot be explained unless you see them. And that's all I can say. If you get the opportunity to see them, TAKE IT. You will never regret it.

  • @LeaTelamon Ok I'm all about live music but this just sounds like fanboyism.

  • This is unequivocally without a doubt a complete Masterpiece !!! 9 people that disliked this are complete ****** ! :)

  • im unfamiliar with these guys why do they need a keyboard in an instrumental band......pelican owns these guys

  • @CHIMAIRAROX1 its not a keyboard.

  • Michael Armine would add so much to this. . . . .

  • @cheapy2006

michael armine is an incredible vocalist and he is a major reason for the amazing sound of rosetta, but he wouldn't fit into this music.

it's like you wanted to eat a steak with chocolate sauce...on it's own they are both tasty, but together...

  • @Valathe i'd be willing to hear it

  • @cheapy2006 i sure would be curious too, but as i said, i doubt that it would fit together...anyway, nice knowing how many people love armine's shouts ;)

  • This band is truly incredible, i saw them in LA and i was blown away. Their set was so remarkably well done, they had a visualizer of the cosmos and it was just...existential..

  • Good music is good music, PERIOD. Some good music uses the human voice to compliment the instrumental aspect, and some doesn't. I've heard good music that incorporated very unorthodox sounds like old squeaking doors, plates breaking, and silverware banging. I've seen a guy with one guitar string nailed to a 2x4 play amazing music, and I've seen two guys playing a wooden box, and a balloon (as a bass). Bottom line, Red Sparowes music is not good music, it's fucking perfection!

  • bajense el disco Far From Refuge de God Is An Astronaut, muy bueno.

  • this is the best song fo Red Sparowes...

  • more like 7...

  • I was at this consert when I was nine. I fell asleep on stage next to the drummer. LOL

  • Great song!:)

  • live long pedal steel

  • The Knitting Factory was located in Hollywood , (as a matter in fact I was in this show) The Knitting Factory was removed and we are waiting for them to return..I saw a great bands there, like porcupine tree, buckethead, acid mothers temple, discharge, high on fire,isis,etc.. The Echoplex is a great place too.(I saw them there as well).

  • Unfortunately I've never been to a concert like this before. Are they announcing their songs or just playing them one after another?

Check out Long Distance Calling from Germany!

  • @Dethroned666 Long Distance Calling is fucken badass!

  • what knitting factory?? where located?

  • Seen them once before, and will be seeing them again in under a week. Absolutely stoked for it.

  • Amazing LIVE

  • I hear this song now since a year, and i cant get enough of it. A masterpiece :)

  • me mola

  • thats the difference between a song and a piece. all instrumental music should be called pieces instead of songs

  • does anybody know the what's the instrument called the guy plays with a slider sitting down?

  • @shootbootleg

it is a pedal steel guitar

  • peanuts447 recommend to me Red Sparowes today... and... i say.. the music don`t need lyrics, mainstream, money, fans, big solos... to tracender... brothers receive a big hug!!! peace!!!

  • Anybody know the name of the song that starts with like natural sounds and birds chirping, then you hear as if someone is on a loud speaker giving orders.

  • @AenemaToology I think that's this song I might be wrong. When this song ends on the album you start hearing birds chirp and people muttering. It trips me out when I'm high. Ha

  • @blackheart187x Yeah I just found out it is the end of this song... but yeah that album does trip me out when I am stoned! First time I ever heard was when I was stoned lol From then I fell in love.

  • Fucking epic.

  • tiene un aire a isis!

  • wow didn't know they did clips. That's fabulous!!!!!

  • 5 stars!

  • Between The Buried And Me

  • This is probably the only post rock other than The Mercury Program that I have.

I've always liked the Shoegaze sound same with the Post Rock sound. Any other albums that are somewhat like this but without guitars?

I love guitars to death but for some reason I feel I need to expand a bit when it comes to instrumentals a bit right now. I have so much guitar based music lol.

  • @AirHendrix91 M83's early stuff, before they were just one guy.

  • I know what you mean man...

but if the music is good, then all you can do is keep listening to it.

  • auburn lull plays keyboards but with guitars also, their kind of like a slowdive post-rock band check em out

  • Cool stuff. Would you recommend My Bloody Valentine? I know they're Shoe Gaze but I don't know if they would be any good.

  • definetly would recomend my bloody valentine, that group has influence so many groups

  • Yeah amazing band, I got Loveless last week from my English professor lol. Awesome stuff.

  • I personally wouldn't recommend them.. I've given them a chance a few times.. tried out loveless.. hated it. you may be different though.. just try it out.

  • definitely pick up loveless and isn't anything.

  • @AirHendrix91 yes! go listen to loveless right now.

  • I would recommend 'September Malevolence' .. or ' Theta '

  • CLIFF!!!!

  • Enjoy music for what it is or stop listening altogether.

And if you can't appreciate post-rock, you're a sad human being. It's a brilliant genre and you don't know what you're missing.

    Right Stevie?

  • @SamuraiZombie

It's not exactly a brilliant genre, it's very formulated... built up of a slow chord progression, very spacy, keyboard and leads up to a climax with tremolo picking. I enjoy this music; although it gets repetitive.

  • @SamuraiZombie Right ! ;)

  • @SamuraiZombie indeed.

  • The hell is this discussion about Mozart's non-instrumental pieces? Just shut up and watch the damn video or "fuck outta here".

  • great great song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ...Do such 'instrumental bands' is the same as 'post-rock bands'?

I mean almost such the bands are called 'post-rock.'

  • @HondaDoraeMon

    Not all are the same.

  • F****** Awesome!

  • Wow, the music is fantastic. Love these guys.

  • gosh i love listening to this one even if they do mess up a few times... the bass line on buildings began to stretch is epic when considering the title of the song.

  • Do you know what would ruin this song? Lyrics

  • @Caligula138 couldn't agree more! these guys are awesome!

  • @Caligula138 This is unequivocally without a doubt a complete Masterpiece !!!

  • Good stuff. check out Animals as Leaders, Russian Circles and Scale the Summit if you guys like Instrumental like this. SUPPORT IT!

  • amazing music!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • mpif again

    he is great

amazing staff from this unique musician

    MPIF the ONE AND ONLY

  • Red Sparowes, I always thought it was a nod to Black Crowes.

  • i think its better without vocals

  • eh?

  • You obviously do not understand the point of instrumental then.

  • Fuck outta here.

  • doesnt sparrows have two R's

  • so your saying they dont have an another r because they dont sing that seem kinda out of the way why dont they name the band "Hey we dont have a singer" i was just curious cause i just found this band there was no reason to be an ass

  • Yeah, BLu3mach1n3 was just plain and simple being a twat there eh.

Anyway, that's just the name of their band and I'm sure they have a reason for it :>

  • i agree alot of times if a band misspells a word(s) its for a more deeper meaning then we may know. it could also just be an inside joke.

  • Notice how music and singing are two completely different actions? Sing and Music compliment each other, hence why bands use both; to say music NEEDS singing is far more ignorant.

Look at all the classical composers out there/have existed. They had no singing in their music; or are you going to tell me Bach, Beethoven, Mozart , and Debussy didn't make good music?

Fuck outta here you uneducated swine.

  • chillax

music is subjective, IMO insulting people over their tastes is overboard.

  • Music is subjective, but to say that "music needs vocals" is total garbage and fallacy.

They are 2 different things that happen to mesh well together; while others dabble in doing one separate from the other.

To call someone ignorant and claim the above statement is going overboard imo. And very, very, idiotic.

  • @Cessate It is true that believing music needs voice is 100% stupid but I also can not think that it is too simple of these bands that only use guitar, bass and drums. I think I can see a "lap guitar" on the video but still, kind of too obvious and simple

  • @JapaneseModernist Things don't need to be ridiculous complex to be good either. Even so, this song itself is still fairly complex as is, but it's more so about the atmosphere and mood that it take you to, that makes it amazing. Most songs on the radio are solely about being catchy and memorable; with senseless lyrics, and poor musicianship. No feeling what so ever.

  • I agree with you but none of them wrote only instrumental music. operas, arias, Lieder (frantz Schubert wrote many of them) etc are not instrumenal music. red sparowes are writing only instrumental.

  • Instrumental = only music, no singing. Hence the term 'INSTRUMENTALal", as in, only instruments.

Red Sparrows may not play classical symphony instrumentals, but the comparison and my point still stand.

  • i repeat: opera aria and lieder is NOT instrumental music.

  • Actually, Beethoven wrote Missa Solemnis, which has a choir perform and Mozart wrote Ave Verum Corpus which includes a choir. Fuck outta here.

  • You do realize that those are just single songs out of an entire catalog that each has written, right?

I give you credit for the attempt, but the fact remains that 95% of what they wrote was still instrumental. It also doesn't justify the other composers I mentioned.

    Fuck outta here.

  • That's right. But remember "They had no singing in their music..." You made it seem as though the composers never ever ever EVER wrote songs with lyrics, which isn't true in the slightest sense. Also, which other composers are you referring to? You mentioned three, I disproved two.

  • Unless I said "they STRICTLY wrote instrumentals and nothing else, ever", then you'd have a case. But seeing as I didn't say anything of the like, and simply pointed out great musicians in time that wrote and became famed due to their instrumentals; you really have no liable argument.

I mentioned 4. Bach, Beethoven, Mozart , and Debussy.

You're doing nothing more than arguing semantics for nothing more than arguing.

My points stand 100% regardless. Sorry.

  • @Cessate

I agree with this. For some reason people think music requires words to have meaning, which is false.

    However

Those composers had singing: Beethoven wrote Fidelio, an opera, as well as Missa Solemnis, which both had singing. Bach wrote many Choral works and Mozart wrote many Operas.

  • @Cessate actualy those musicians had make singing music.

good music is just like a piece of art, each component of it is a vital part of it.

some are just perfect with the lyrics, some just dont fit with it.

this music, by the way, is fine the way it is.

  • @Cessate

Not that I am arguing with your point, but your reference to classical composers is mostly ill informed. To say that they had no singing in their music. A lot of people would justifiably state that their best music was that which contained voice. Bach composed a cantata every Sunday, Mozart's operas are some of his most reputed works, even Beethoven's 9th contained the choral 5th movement "Ode to Joy". For the record my favorite music is mostly instrumental, particularly Stravinsky.

  • @Valhalla0 I stated months ago somewhere on here that I'm fully aware they had singing in some of their music, but majority of what they wrote, and what various classical artists wrote, had none. Yes, a lot had singing, but majority didn't.

The point was that song does not need lyrical content to be justifiable as music.

That said, I almost wish I didn't respond to the ingrate that it was directed to. Now it's a most liked comment and 6 months later people are still posting on it.

  • @Cessate then remove it

  • @AlanKoshiyama The fuck would I do that? Just because people are spamming doesn't make my comment any less valid. Don't be stupid.

  • @Cessate many educated people tend not to enjoy instrumental music. To me, people complaining about music without lyrics and people telling those people that they're "too simple to understand" music without lyrics are equally irksome.

  • @DuctTapeDefender Good thing I never mentioned any of those points then, hey?

  • @Cessate yeah, I guess I must have just misunderstood the phrase, "Fuck outta here you uneducated swine" haha.

  • @DuctTapeDefender That you did. Considering nowhere in my comment did I scold him for liking/not liking instrumental music, but rather his claim that instrumental music ISN'T music.

    Vast difference there, I'd say.

  • @Cessate vast indeed... like the far reaches of outer spaaaaaaaaaaace.

  • @Cessate Bach, Beethoven, Mozart and Debussy all utilized singing. They also Made bad music, whose to define good music?

  • @chadeary You should probably read more than just the single comment I left 7 months ago. Just sayin'.

  • @Cessate actually about half of Debussy's compositions have vocals, Bach's greatest composition is generally agreed to be the Mass in B Minor, and Mozart is most celebrated for his operas. Maybe learn something about classical music before trying to use it in an argument?

  • @horsedoctorman Congratulations on missing the point completely, and great job on attempting to argue against a single comment of many, from almost a year ago.

Do something better with your time, chum.

  • @Cessate The point is you're calling someone uneducated yet you type all that uneducated garbage about classical composers? It's a comment that inexplicably has 44 thumbs up, gotta admit I didn't know Red Sparowes fans were that dumb

  • @horsedoctorman The point is, that while yes some do have singing aspects, a lot don't as well; does that instantly negate it as music/song then? No.

And not once did I state, nor was it implied that classical composers made solely instrumentals; that's an assumption you yourself conjured up to do, shit if I know. Try to start an internet fight apparently.

Again. An 8 month old comment. Attempt to beat your chest somewhere else.

"derp, i no maor den u cuz i asoom u meen dis insted of dat lol"

  • @Cessate I quote "Look at all the classical composers out there/have existed. They had no singing in their music"... it's there in black and white, no assumption on my part. And I don't know why you keep saying it's an 8 month old comment. If you want to get angry at someone, blame all the people who voted it up so high that it's going to be on the front page, just below the video, forever and ever.... If I were you I would simply delete the comment if people replying to it annoys you so much

  • @horsedoctorman Do read anything that says "The only music they made was instrumental"? No. I was specifically talking about the songs that don't have any singing aspects to them. Your "black and white" seems to be a pretty vivid rainbow I'd say.

I bring it up because it seems petty of you to attempt and start an argument for something said almost a year ago; it's as if you lack anything better in your day but to attempt to start internet arguments.

  • @Cessate "Look at all the classical composers out there/have existed. They had no singing in their music"... the ignorance of the comment speaks for itself. I'm sorry you lack the maturity to simply admit you were wrong.

  • @horsedoctorman Yet again, you see only what you want to see, and interpret it how you want to interpret it. The ignorance of your apparent need/desire to argue like a chest beating mongoloid over something so benign does nothing more that contradict your own name calling and lack of maturity.

Selective interpretation must be something you're fond of.

  • @Cessate Recap: 1. 8 months ago you write an inarticulate comment containing an untrue assertion in some kind of internet argument, 2. it gets voted up to the front page (whoops), 3. I write a correction in response, 4. you whine your ass off. It's funny that you accuse me of calling you names (I haven't at all) when instead of staying on point you've adopted a personalised attitude from the start, casting aspersions on my motivations and other such bullshit... mongoloid is a racist term btw

  • @horsedoctorman You corrected nothing though; which is what you're failing to understand. Classical Composers didn't SOLELY write music with or without lyrics. They wrote various songs containing both. The argument was that someone claimed that Red Sparowes weren't good because they lack lyrics, I countered asking if he thinks an instrumental from a classical composer isn't good simply because it lacks lyrics. The end.

  • @horsedoctorman Was I as specific with the rebuttal 8 months ago as I was right now? No. Should it matter? No. You're the only one here whining their ass off in some deluded, self-righteous attempt to prove a point that not only was addressed before, but that doesn't require proof/correction to begin with. As I said from the start you read what you want to read and therefore try to conjure up an argument over it.

  • @horsedoctorman ps: I'm fully aware of what a mongoloid is, you dolt. This high horse you apparently think you're on is pretty shoddy. Don't you have some Justin Bieber video to troll?

  • @Cessate Hahaha, I am deemed worthy of three replies. Hope you got everything off your chest. The fact is, you stated that classical composers had no singing in their music. Whether you INTENDED to say that or not, that is what you said. Perhaps you should have just said that you meant to say something different from what you did. Who knows, it might even be true. Would have saved you all this getting angry over nothing, hilarious as it is...

  • @horsedoctorman Or rather, the fact is that you're one, of a plethora of YouTube trolls who enjoy starting shit over benign and useless cases (as such). Considering you're one person, and various others have seemed to understand my comment perfectly fine, really adds to the question of what exactly is your goal here? To "prove me wrong" (though you're the one who chose to interpret it wrongly)? To get a rise out of me (though I'm far from angry)? Or is it because you're bored and alone?

  • @horsedoctorman And it's not that I don't like people replying. What I don't like is people assuming garbage, grasping at straws, and trying to start an argument, which you're the only one who's done such thus far. There's a significant difference.

  • q buena banda!

  • what an effin' band this is... woah! a must see live for anyone...

  • Que buena rola, me late esta onda de bandas instrumentales: Explosions in the Sky, 65daysofstatic y Beware of Safety son de lo mejorcito que hay hoy en dia en la musica.

  • I went to go see Team Sleep (Deftones side-project) in concert about 4 years ago, and this band called Strike Him Centurion opened for them... They reminded me a lot of Red Sparowes, and were arguably the best performance of that night.

  • acho que nao percebem mesmo.

  • Que cambada de paneleiros os gajos q deixaram estes comentários!e o mais engraçado é q não devem perceber o q isto quer dizer.

  • bands like these always hit me straight in the gut and never stops.

  • Is all red sparowes this mostly instrumental 6-10 minutes long songs?

  • yes, and it will take you half of the song to read the title.

  • yes

  • along with most other bands in this style. lol

  • YES!

  • greece needs another live show guys!!!!!!visit again!!!...pleaseeee

  • Red Sparowes playing in the Paradiso in Amsterdam. For two hours I believed I was in Paradise!
