  • This sucks. Why is the underpad not reflective instead?

  • this winter set up would NOT be fun to do in the winter conditions i experience here. trying to tie small knots in 0 F would suck. and the cost of hammock, winter insulation, snake skins, etc is too much. may as well get a 4 season tent. i'll try the hennesy next summer, but for this year's winter trips, i will stick to my spacious, warm tent.

  • @antirepublican123 ...I never use my 4 season expedition tent anymore..preferring to sleep "off the ground" in my Hennessy Expedition Asym in total warm comfort......the set up is fast after you've done it a few times...No problem here..Granted not in 0 F but in 14 F with a -5 windchill!

  • @antirepublican123 I've taken the HH to below 0F without using the supershelter.

The thing about this is that most of the small knots you see here are only initial setup, and could be done before even leaving for the trip, and only need to be done once. If you want to use the snakeskins, you'd need to remove/install the pad each time you break camp and set up again, but you can also just stuff the whole hammock, pad and sleeping bag into your backpack (or other stuff sack) as-is if you prefer.

  • This man looks remarkably like Dennis Hopper. Dennis is notably, not available for an endorsement--but wouldn't this video sound great in his edgy voice? "Way the hell out in the bush somewhere... Ah, yeahhhh... that is sooo nice."

  • must be like sleeping in a crisp packet

  • I flop around a lot at night and that Mylar sure would make a lot of noise.
