Education and religion should be separate. Religion is a private personal matter - learning is public matter. My school wasn't religious - thank goodness. I chose to go to Church and study faith outside of school. This is so important - as children should grow up and choose how they wish to believe. We shouldn't be taught to believe in god - we should choose to!! We need our children to mix - not be separated on the basis of faith.

I don't really see what other races are going to do to you. How does an influx of immigrants hurt the "whites"? White americans: 197 million, or 63.7% of the US pop. Next largest Hispanics: 50 million, or only 16.3% So unless 100 million Hispanics show up in 30 years(highly unlikely), I think white Americans are fine.

We've recently moved to the city because of my work and we made a horrible mistake in the neighbourhood we chose to move to. My chance of dying brutally has shot up since moving here. with regards to people being allowed to wear symbols in public, what if someone wanted to wear a swastika? they'd be condemned and accused of being a nazi when that isnt neccessarily the case as the swastika has much deeper roots than nazism. Why is it that some symbols in society are tolerated and others are not? if religions are allowed to wear things that represent them, then what about people from other groups?

And as the secular world is beginning to realise, religion does nothing but seperate people. But I am most definately anti-burka. Why is it that a woman in a burka can walk into a bank or shop and not get told to remove it, when a person in a hoodie will be asked to take it off so that "their face can be seen". 'What have they got to hide?', people often think. The context in which people 'freely' chose to wear coverings are often incredibly oppressive. @PointBlanc7 A headscarf hides an identity. When something like the face/head is covered, which people are so used to see, they automatically think there must be a reason to cover it. It's human nature. And to your answer, yes. One person's free choice is another person's oppression. I don't think you are a lier you just don't realise how much of an effect your religion has had at clouding your rational judgement. And people with headscarves don't 'get attacked' at all.

With regards to headscarves people use secondary face characteristics such as hair, face shape, face size etc. to recognise and identify individuals. Why I want them banned? They hide identity, they are divisive symbols of religion, they invoke negative feelings in the other population. I could go on. And yes, of course nuns shouldn't be allowed to wear their habits.

Also, yes my school did achieve the best results, which is why I went there, and yes faith school generally out perform state schools. But this isn't due to the religious nature of the schools, afterall believing in God doesn't somehow make you smarter (in fact I'd argue the opposite). It's because faith schools receive much more funding than regular schools, and with the better funding, comes pushy middle-class parents who want their children to do their best. It's the people, not the school.
@Dave25892 On the contraray faith schools are so suppressive that majority of students who attend them CAN NOT waite to get out of there and the only way out is to get good grades and leave the school and even their family. Majority of students from faith schools always apply to Universities away from their home town. They are the most sexually active students at Universities. You should see all these Asian girls at Universities specially the ones with Hijab, they are all after a boyfriend.
@clance2002 I wouldn't go that far. Although I appreciate that some faith schools are more forecful with the religious side of things, I can only speak from experience. Although prayers, mass and religious education were compulsary, science and religion were very much kept seperate. A lot of the pupils although were born into catholic families never really took it that seriously. I and alot of ex pupils often visit the school as the teachers were so lovely. It was an excellent school
at 30.00, I agreed with the guy with the glasses up until this point. Faith schools are inherently divisive. I spent 14 years of my childhood in catholic education and I only remember once being taught some small details of any other faith, which happened to be islam. I never met children of faith other than christianity. I realised that religion was an absolute loads of bollocks with the way they were indoctrinating children as young as four years old.

@clance2002 I live in Bradford (in one of the only white areas left) and a school was recently on the news which had 99% of its pupils were Muslims, i find it sickening that on this show they conclude that multiculturalism is a good thing. The parts of Bradford which are mostly Muslims have been ruined . These areas are turning into places which can be seen in third world countries they are indeed becoming ghettos, the white working class are being forgotten
@bd10casual I am studying there at the moment and I can see exactly what you mean. Although the muslims aren't the cause for the poverty, it's the area and social deprivation amongst the general population in some parts. The city isn't multicultural at all, it's bicultural. Whites and asians. The people are effectively segregated, on cultural lines. The whites resent the fact they have it into Bradistan and the asians don't want to integrate or mix and only stick their own. It's sad.
@bd10casual I have to agree - my family orignate from Bradford and were effectively moved out as they weren't welcome anymore. My mother remembers Bradford being wonderful place with many different cultures there. It is a ghetto now and I cannot go there without feeling sad. It has indeed been ruined.

Education and religion should be separate. Religion is a private personal matter - learning is public matter. My school wasn't religious - thank goodness. I chose to go to Church and study faith outside of school. This is so important - as children should grow up and choose how they wish to believe. We shouldn't be taught to believe in god - we should choose to!! We need our children to mix - not be separated on the basis of faith.

Also, yes my school did achieve the best results, which is why I went there, and yes faith school generally out perform state schools. But this isn't due to the religious nature of the schools, afterall believing in God doesn't somehow make you smarter (in fact I'd argue the opposite). It's because faith schools receive much more funding than regular schools, and with the better funding, comes pushy middle-class parents who want their children to do their best. It's the people, not the school.

@clance2002 I wouldn't go that far. Although I appreciate that some faith schools are more forecful with the religious side of things, I can only speak from experience. Although prayers, mass and religious education were compulsary, science and religion were very much kept seperate. A lot of the pupils although were born into catholic families never really took it that seriously. I and alot of ex pupils often visit the school as the teachers were so lovely. It was an excellent school

at 30.00, I agreed with the guy with the glasses up until this point. Faith schools are inherently divisive. I spent 14 years of my childhood in catholic education and I only remember once being taught some small details of any other faith, which happened to be islam. I never met children of faith other than christianity. I realised that religion was an absolute loads of bollocks with the way they were indoctrinating children as young as four years old.

Although the muslims aren't the cause for the poverty, it's the area and social deprivation amongst the general population in some parts. The city isn't multicultural at all, it's bicultural. Whites and asians. The people are effectively segregated, on cultural lines. If the meaning is as you wish "God kill them", then this still means a curse, since the verse is not commanding any human to kill them, but it is rather invoking God to kill them (which God does to all humans eventually). Secondly, the Prophet Muhammed (saaw) never killed anyone merely for being a Christian or Jew - I Challenge you, in front of all your fascist friends, to prove me wrong. Come one, tell me one case - just ONE, where the Prophet killed people for not being Muslim (i.e. refusing to convert to Islam).

Therefore, the proper translation and meaning must be to KILL! By, the way, fighting violently for religious beliefs is intolerable. Therefore, I do not tolerate Islam

A pathetic argument. Allah does have adverseries - Kafirs (truth rejectors). Anyone can have an adversery no matter how powerful they are. So your argument falls flat on it's face. Next!

@mujtahid2006 Really, I though Allah was almighty? Why does he have to fight his adversaries then? If he is almighty no fight between him and someone else is even possible.Allah would just raise his hand or cough and the "adversary" would be dead. Therefore, kill is the proper translation.
