Strobel references the Bible and says people witnessed the resurrection. Yet in my Bible it has a message at Mark 16:8 to Mark 16:20. It reads that the story of the witness to the the resurrection are thought to be added on years later. Open your Bible and see what it says. Yet, Strobel is using this as his eyewitnesses. Stories added on years later to give credibility to an event are not eyewitnesses. Watch the History Channels "Who Wrote the Bible" for more information on the subject.
@gregrutz no but they did find the tomb open and his body gone. the evidence all points towards his resurrection. its like have a broken window and saying that someone didn't smash it.
@gregrutz ok go with that. so the the tomb is empty. what else could explain the empty tomb? there really isn't another conclusion. as you say its all logic.
@speeron Logic says someone took the body. Logic says dead people don't leave the grave on their own. It is not logic to assume someone is a god or rose from the grave. There is no evidence for a god, you need faith to be religious.
@gregrutz ok so someone took the body? who took the body? there is nobody who could have logically stolen the body. it doesn't make sense for anyone to have taken it. and also logic doesn't say that people don't rise from the dead. It's not logically false to rise from the dead it's just something which doesn't normally happen, that doesn't make it logically untrue.
@speeron Oh, so people rising from the dead happens? Oh it only happens ONCE. Yea right. That's logical. Next you will till me there is only one god even though he had a son who was also a god so he can rise from the dead. How do you kill a god?
@johnaursula Also by that logic, you would have to believe that Zeus is real and a God. And every other God that there is information on 2000-3000 years later (Kristna, Adonis, Horus, etc). Yes people absolutely believed that they were Gods back then. Just because information exists, it doesnt make the person real. Actually, history points to everyone of them being stories. Which you would agree with, except for Jesus, that one is different..right?
@johnaursula Or it could mean that my girlfriend or someone else has broken into my computer account. Much the way the stories of Jesus could be made up by a group of people or by the governing body. The governing body, which would have a lot to gain by controlling the masses.
@Information39 Ok. If your girlfriend did lie and pretend to be you, or even if you yourself lied in what you wrote, if you were then confronted with death because of what was writen, would you die for that lie? Would you die for something you know isn't true? Of course not. So why did hundreds of thousands of Christians, including those you say made it all up, die willingly?
@Jaasau You state "thousands of Christians, including those you say made it all up, die willing". Give me your evidence for this event. And please dont waste my time using the Bible or Lee Strobel as evidence. If you dont understand why I say that. Watch History Channel's "Who Wrote the Bible" and the court case "Judgement Day:Intelligent Design on Trial". The later one is where Strobels science claims go on trial. Both can be watched on youtube.
@johnaursula Everyone is allowed to speak about historical figures. But it is important to see how credible the source is. Otherwise anyone can say anything and everyone would believe it.
@johnaursula Historians are the worlds historians, not my historians. Since when is getting both sides of an argument being brainwashed? Guess what? All the sources you gave me as proof of Jesus... I was already well aware of. And guess what? You werent even aware of your own proof for Jesus let alone the other side. But none the less, had completely made up your mind. I think that speaks for itself.
@johnaursula The "Gospel of John" was written around 100Ad (plus or minus 10 years). The "Gospel of John" was written about 70 years after Jesus death. Not an eyewitness. There is a reason why I say there are no eyewitnesses to Jesus life and death, because there are none.
@johnaursula When did educational sources become "enemies" of Jesus? And why do you keep saying I have an "agenda". These are things that brainwashed people say. I look to see what religious dvds say when I find things on the History Channel, etc. That is why we have a population of scientologists. They dont look at any educational sources, just infromation from their society.
@johnaursula Watch any educational dvd on the Gospel of John. Nobody knows who wrote the Gospel of John. The fact that you put the gospel of "St" John. Maybe you would like to inform all the historians of your proof that St. John wrote it, because they dont know who wrote it.
@johnaursula Let me be clear. There is nothing written by anyone Christian or otherwise DURING JESUS ENTIRE LIFE. Further his birthday is assigned by an astrological events. A few believe it is 30AD, some believe 1AD and some 4AD. His death 30BC-34BC is figured by adding 30 yeas to birthday. So they dont know when Jesus was born, when he died and nobody wrote about him during his life. Everything you gave me is decades and centuries after death.
@johnaursula If you seek evidence from religious people, they will tell you what you want to hear. Verifying that information on a non religious site is a much harder task.
@johnaursula Jesus is said to have died in 30AD-34AD. All your sources are decades after his death. They arent eyewitnesses, because there are no eyewitnesses. Yes, I am well aware that there were people calling themselves "Chistians" in Rome at that time.
@johnaursula "Despite the best wishes of sincere believers and the erroneous claims of truculent apologists, the Testimonium Flavianum has been demonstrated continually over the centuries to be a forgery, likely interpolated by Catholic Church historian Eusebius in the fourth century. So thorough and universal has been this debunking that very few scholars of repute continued to cite the passage after the turn of the 19th century." "Suns of God" Research book by Archarya S. So quit quoting it.
@johnaursula I completey agree with you on that point. Unfortunately, most US people think Adam and Eve were white, which is what I was referencing. I am well aware of the Abraham stories, however, the Bible stories date further back then archeological records of their people do. Meaning they are stories.
@johnaursula Lets just say the Shroud of Turin is real. That proves what? You need to prove there was a guy named Jesus that did miracles. The shroud is not a miracle. Not to mention it is a highly debated topic.
@johnaursula You keep saying there is proof. The Bible is the only evidence that Jesus existed. There is nothing outside of it. No historical events, people and places. DNA shows we didnt come from Adam and Eve (National Geographic: The Human Family Tree). Our DNA tracks back to about 6000 dark skinned people in Africa around 200k years ago. Not two white people 6000 years ago like the Bible/Christians say.
@johnaursula My 50th great granpa didnt claim to fly through the air with no helicoptor and hover on water with no boat. These are events that historians would have recorded. A&E Mysteries of the Bible:”The Lost Years of Jesus” Says historians existed in Palestine at the time of Jesus, but mysteriously none of them wrote about him." If my 50th grandpa had a worldwide flood, etc attahed to him, archeologist should be able to find proof of it. DNA can prove he existed.
@johnaursula You arent suppose to "look something up". The idea is to watch educational dvds and decide what is real and what is not real about the Bible. Nice, I am closed minded. I watched Strobel's dvd's and you arent willing to look outside of religious dvds.
@johnaursula I read "James and the Giant Peach" as a kid about a kid traveling the world inside a 20 foot tall peach with his 2 foot tall insect friends. By your logic, that book proves that a 20 foot peach and 2 foot tall insects existed. There are books about all kinds of things, it doesnt prove or make anything real. There needs to be historical, archeological, scientific, etc to validate the idea.
@johnaursula Yes and these floods were before the Israelites existed as a people. They were stories with different Gods that caused them for different reasons. The Israelites knew of these stories and wrote their own version with their God being the main character. The story isnt about a literal flood. It is about a new start for a group of people.
@johnaursula "The same history channel and A& E and national geographic stated the history of Jesus in some other eoisudes." Tell me the episode. The history channel, etc like to tell both sides of an argument. So yes, they will say MOST SCHOLARS say there is no evidence for the life and death of Jesus. Then they will interview some priest that says, I think this cave is the birth place of Jesus. That is how educational dvds should be done. No matter how not based on evidence the other side is.
@johnaursula Yes, local floods, not global floods. Nat Geos "search for noahs ark" states they were the result of ice age melts that traveled down the mountains and into low lying regions in Sumer. To the people living there they seemed like global floods. The Bible wasnt meant to be a history book, the Israelites were telling about their lives in story form. Glad we agree on first 5 books. I used to think the whole Bible was literal and real.
@johnaursula Nat geo, history channel, A&E all state that names on the 4 Gospels are not the people that wrote them. Turn to your Bible at Mark 16:8-16:20. There is a mark in most Bibles. Why is that there? It is a known add on many years later. Unfortunately it is the eyewitnesses to the resurrection. Even the Bible acknowledges it. According to history channel "who wrote the bible" Mathew and Luke were made by combining Mark with a source called "Q".
@johnaursula "Human history" was divide into BC and AD 525 years AFTER the fact by a monk. This is only 1 of many calendars, it isnt "human history".The Baha'i calendar is based on the date that the Bab declared that a new manifestation of God would appear. The Hindu calendar is based on a planetary alignment in 3102 BCE.The Mayan calendar was based on the day that they believed that Venus was born. The Muslim calendar is based on year of the hegira -- the flight of Muhammad from Mecca to Medina.
@johnaursula There are a billion people that think Chinese Traditional, Buddism, primal and African religions are real. Nearly every kid in the US thinks santa is real. And there are over 1 billion atheists now. I believe atheists are the fastest growing segment. Billions of Christians is not an arguement for Jesus being real. What first century monuments???
@johnaursula The resurrection stories of Gods originated in Sumerian/Egyptian and Babylonian stories that existed before the Israelites existed as a people. "A&E Mysteries of the Bible The Execution of Jesus and The lost years of Jesus and Jesus Holy Child" They dont know Jesus Bday, place of birth or anything else. The historians at the time didnt write about him, there are no eyewitnesses to anything. Stories like baptism and feeding many with a loaf of bread came from the Essenes.
@johnaursula If the story of Noah's Ark were true. Since the flood was worldwide, I should be able to dig down where I stand right now and find a layer of animal skeletons and thick silt. There are 7 billion people on earth and nobody has found that (including archeologists). And yes, this isnt about the new testament, which I will get to now.
@johnaursula Yes, archeologists cant prove negatives. They cant prove Jesus didnt exist. But they can uncover how stories of resurrecting Gods and all other Bible stories evolved into the Israelite version. If you werent aware, every story in the Bible can be found in Sumerian stories 1000 years before the Israelites even existed as a people. Yes, Tower of Babel, Noahs Ark, Walls of Jericho, etc. are copied Sumerian/Babylonian/Egyptian stories.
@johnaursula Hopefully, you are not saying that the theory of evolution is only supported by Darwins book? There are fossils showing transitions from nearly every animal. Most people cant take a trip to the Smithsonian Institute to see some of these. But you can watch "Was Darwin Wrong", "The Walking Whale", "Ape to Man" and "Becoming Human". The fossil record is there and DNA confirms the fossil record.
@johnaursula "All the evidence (and experience) about Jesus is overwhelming". A&E Mysteries of the Bible "The Execution of Jesus" states there is no evidence for the life and death of Jesus". The history channel and Nat Geo say the same thing. There is no evidence, just experience you choose to attribute to Jesus because you couldnt explain them.
I look forward to the coming "Jesus who?" era. Christianity can't get away from the fact that it started out as a doomsday cult based on a story about an unnatural, spooky baby who grew up and became a zombie. Just the embarrassment factor alone tends to work against the spread of this superstition in the modern world.
@johnaursula Hahahahaha. What bulls.... Go to any insane asylum, chances are some of the inmates will speak in tongues to you. Speaking in tongues is infantilism, crap, jibberish, fantasy.nonsense. Yes people do all sort of crazy things when in a trance.
@johnaursula By saying "Those who deny biblical accounts of Jesus has an ajenda of anti christ." You are admitting that you dont care what any of the evidence is. You have drawn the target...Jesus exists and that is that. It is hard to quit believing in something your parents drilled into your head from birth. And then your parents took you to an uneducated pastor to confirm beliefs they never looked into. I know, I was that person too.
@johnaursula Jesus isnt accepted because when archeologists look for a global flood, they find there has never been a global flood. When they look for the walls of Jericho, they find there werent walls to even blow down at that time. Nor can they find any trace of 600k people leaving Egypt, being out in the desert or Egypt losing 600k people. They cant find any trace of chariot wheels on the bottom of the Red Sea. Archeology confirms that the stories are stories, not actual history.
@johnaursula Not being mean, but ajenda is spelled agenda. The history of King Tut is accepted because the history of him ruling with his name is painted on the walls in Egypt. Unlike Jesus, they found his burial tomb. Unlike Jesus, the DNA evidence from the tomb confirmed that he was the son of Akhenaten (King Tut's father who ruled before King Tut and his stories are also sketched and painted on the walls in Egypt.) The stories, history and science all line up, that is why it is accepted.
John 3:5 makes it clear that its impossible to enter into the Kingdom of God without being born of water and of the Spirit. To learn exactly what this means, please check out the scribd website that is listed on my channel.
Strobel may want to watch the History Channels "Who Wrote the Bible". Seems they disgree with what he is saying. Also why is there a mark in my Bible at Mark 16:8? It seems to be a known add on many years later. Unfortunately, it is the witnesses to the resurrection.
@gupsphoo No, it is not the same thing. Christianity is the ONLY religion where the gift of tongues can be interpreted and the ONLY religion where my niece who is only 15 years old has been filled with the evidence of speaking in tongues. It is the gift of the Holy Spirit..I will pray for you because the truth of the matter is that I could sit here and give you PERSONAL accounts to the miracles God has done in my life, but what you have is a heart issue. God loves u, he really does. Praying
@SuperLoveofGod Speaking in tongues yeah, but not using your mind. "Speaking in tongues" is perhaps the best proof that christianity is complete foolishness. My dog speaks in tongues too, nobody understands what he is saying.
To everyone who does not believe that God is real, or that Jesus is the Son of God who was crucified, died, buried and rose for our sins..how do u
explain the filling of the holy spirit that Christians TODAY as myself have experienced and that is recorded in the bible? The filling of the Holy Spirit is a language that is a gift from God give 2 Christians. I received this gift over 10
@SuperLoveofGod Many Muslims experience the same thing. Many Buddhists experience enlightenment, as do many Hindus and people of other religions. So all those religions must at least be as true as Christianity, according to your line of reasoning.
Perhaps your should try LSD. It gives many people incredible religious experiences. May be LSD is the real God. LOL!!!!
A lot of people saw Harry Potter fly on a bloom, so it must be true. Don't believe me? Read Harry Potter novels. There a lots of EYEWITNESSES in those books.
Christians in the 21st Century really should give it up as hopeless. Christianity started out as a doomsday cult based on a ghost story about a guy who rose from the dead. Today's christians have pinned their hopes on THAT?
@TheDarvus or dommed to the flames & burnt, as to serve as a nightly illumination, when daylight had expired." No historian have successfully disputed this passage
@TheDarvus (continue): but in Rome, where all things hideous & shameful from every part of the world find their centre & become popular. Accordingly, an arrest was madeof all who plead guilty; then, upon their information, an immense multitude was convicted, not so much of the crime of firing the city, as of hatred against mankind. Mockery of every sort was added to their deaths. Covered with the skins of beasts, they were torn by dogs & perished, or were nailed to crosses, continue
@TheDarvus Tactius wrote in the Annals, "Conquesently, to get rid of the report, Nero fastened the guilt & inflicted the most exquisite tortures on a class hated for their abomination, called Christians by the populace. Christus, from whom the name has its origin, suffered the extreme penaltyduring the reign of Tiberius at the hands of one of our procurators Pontius Pilatus, and a mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judaea, the first source of evil,
@TheDarvus They still say in their books Jesus actually existed & what they wrote is consistent with what is written in the gospel account. What you said about Josephus being an anti-semitic is not historically accurate. Out of all of the Roman politicans mentioned in the new Testament, Tactius wasn't one of them because he was born 56 AD & most of the New Testament was written before 70 AD, even the ones that were written after 70 AD don't mention Tactius. Everything you said is not true.
@TheDarvus How can you say I have no historical evidence when I mentioned Joephus' book THE ANTIQUITES, a document which historians don't dispute as accurate? So I am correct when I say you have no historical basis to say that Jesus didn't exist. Tactius in his book called ANNALS made reference to the fact Jesus existed & that he was executed when Tiberius was Caesar. Plus Tactius also mentioned that Nero blamed the Christians for the fire in Rome in 64 AD.
@TheDarvus Actually you are the one who don't have a leg to stand on because of the fact that ancient Roman & Jewish, like Pliny the Younger, Tactius, Joephus, & the Jewish Talmud, confirm what is written in the gospel accounts, they never accused the disciples of making the whole thing up& they were very hostile to Christianity. Ronald Syme is in the fringe minority who believes that Jesus or the disciples didn't exist.
that is a bit of stretch, especially when Christianity is a religion in which people like slaves or women did get more rights.
first man who abolished slavery was a christian hungarian king in a pagan land, and he did it because of his christianity. Christianity at its core actually abolishes slavery because it gives more rights to women and people of lower classes like slaves.
Though christianity has been used to affirm slavery also, but its still not the best way.
"The simple answer is, to distance themselves from the creation of Christianity. Then after so many years Rome has "gives in" and accepts this religion as their own. Hook, line and sinker."
so the plan was to make up a religion which will be accepted as mainstream 300 years after the makers of it died, and untill then members of that religion will be persecuted.
Religion is made to verify slavery , a thing that is already normal and in place long before Christianity
"Tacitus, Suetonius and Pliny are all Roman aristocracy and they provide Jesus, early Christians and their persecutions with historicity. Also Josephus was a Flavian."
so its a conspiracy to made up jesus?
why does Tacitus speak in a pejorative manner about Christians and their religion?
@TheDarvus One thing you will not find from ancient Roman & Jewish writings that Jesus & the disciples never existed. Neither will you find the Jewish & Roman writers say that the disciples lied about Jesus rising from the dead.
@TheDarvus You're wrong historically when you say Roman aristocrary were the architects of Christianity when historians, both conservative & liberal, all agree that the Roman goverment persecuted & put to death a lot of Christians within the first 300 years of Christianity's existence. Plus the gospel accounts written within 30 years after the death, burial & resurrection of Jesus which people were still were still alive to serve as witnesses to what Jesus said & did.
@TheDarvus You have no historical basis for saying that Jesus nor the disciples didn't exist. Josephus, an first century Jewish historian, mentioned in his book THE ANTIQUITIES, which he complete around 93 A.D., that a high priest name Ananias took advantage of the death of the Roman governor Festus to have James, the brother of Jesus killed. There are other ancient Roman & Jewish writings like Pliny the Younger & the Jewish Talmud that confirm that Jesus & the disciples did exist.
@TheDarvus The problem with the halluncination theory is that an halluncination can only be seen by one person & you cannot get two people to halluncinate the same thing. Plus Thomas was the only disciple who was skeptical before Jesus appeared to him.
@TheDarvus All of the gospel writers mentioned that women followers of Jesus were the one who discovered the empty tomb because in first century Israel women were not allowed to testify in a Jewish court of law. If the gospel writers wanted to make the whole thing up, they would have said that male followers of Jesus, not the women followers, were the discoverers of the tomb & that's something that William Lane Craig brought up when he was interview for Lee Storbel book "THE CASE FOR CHRIST ".
The problem is ... "Who wrote all of this" and "when" you can give all these storis but if the author or the person who wrote this down isn't validated 100% then it still remains a story.
He claims the the apostles were martured for their faith. There is NO evidence whatsoever for such claims. Even a christian apologetics side state that these martyrdom stories, are mostly the work of Esebius. some 300 years after the (supposed)facts and must not be taken as fact.
@SHIBBYiPANDA: Dying for something does not prove it's true. But it proves you BELIEVE it's true. The disciples claimed they had seen Jesus alive. They had touched him and talked with him. They were so convinced they had seen Jesus they were willing to die for it.
Either the disciples were telling the truth or they were all having the same hallucination. They could not have been liars. They would not have died for something they knew was a lie.
@GlumPhoenix Either that or they pushed a lie really hard and wanted to die with the image of a martyr instead of a huge liar. Think about it, if they pushed a lies that big, then revealing the truth would probably be far worse than dying. U seem to think that when confronted with death or alternative B people will always choose the options that keep them alive vs. kill them but I don't agree with that. It didn't need to be all them either, just a few could have lied and caused history as we kno
@alangname Jesus never claimed divinity, he proclaimed the coming kingdom of God. The Jews being under Roman suppression wanted the kingdom established immediately. Jesus said it is not yet time to restore the kingdom, then told them the parable of the nobleman. Eventually the jews became impatient and believed him to be an impostor and complained to the Roman authorities who crucified him to stop the Jews from wingeing!
@TheDarvus I disagree cuz I'd like some written (or online I guess) documents or research about what you said. What you're saying might make perfect sense but if it's not proven by historical/archaeological authorities it doesn't hold much. Don't forget that as Lee Strobel said, we have a ton of evidence & documents for the New Testament. We're not just relying on Josephus.
I would clarify that no one is knowingly killed for a lie -Jesus and Christians allowed themselves to be killed by others (without fighing back) because they firmly believed in what they were being kllled for
To Maitrey It would be a straight swap of superstitions except that the evidence is this-why would a determined Hindu choose to follow the faith of his sister whom he humiliated-except that he himself saw the evidence in her of a transformed life in Christ. ?
However with all the evidence (and there is a lot), there is one point : you can only accept the ressurection of Christ by faith
For by grace you have been saved through faith: Eph 2:8 (also Romans 3:28, Heb 11:6)
@brento1138 I think you misunderstand the point about belief versus knowing a fact. Listen again to his argument and you'll see what he means. The terrorist *believes* he will be in paradise after a suicide attack, but he can't know it for certain. The early disciples had the ability to know the facts--they would not have knowingly and willingly died for a claim they knew to be a lie. Hope this helps. :)
It is because of my belief in the ressurection of Jesus, as evidenced by Lee above, that I left the Hinduism that I devotedly followed to age 22 (after trying to forceably reconvert my 'betrayer' sister back into Hinduism from the Jesus she now followed) and became a follower of Christ myself-so did my parents who had opposed my baptism (outward expression of my belief) and were taken to task by their Hindu friends-we are all still believers today-I hope thats some more evidence !
@TheDarvus it's not about reasoning it out (although apologetics seems to be that way many times)... you got evidence?... written documents? historians? Josephus was a well-known non-Christian historian. I believe he recorded other historical events as well.
@TheDarvus Wow that's actually pretty interesting.. I would love to read an article about that.. Haha, I am pretty skeptical of that still tho.. Wouldn't Josephus have been to well known a character to live such a double life?
You mean it was writen down that he came back to life but we don't know that for certain you would think the idea would be more famed in the middle east if that was the case but it didn't seem to convince all the jews or all Islam before it was it was islam.
Its easy to prove that jesus is god, and that he came back from the dead:
Produce jesus in person.
But then he will have some explaining to do, small things, like: if you are god, why did you think adam was the first human, 144 generations before you,
and why did you think the earth was flooded 'in the days of noah' ?!
for greater effect, have a native american ask him about the noah nonsense!
his distinction between the willingness of terrorists and Jesus' disciples was tenuous at best. He might want to include the topic of Jones town, Branch Davidian's, and Heavens gate in his analysis of willingness to die.
Notice @ 6:20 he says "we have documents that are ROOTED IN eye witness accounts". He's very careful not to say they ARE eye witness accounts because he knows they are not. What a fail.
The tomb was empty because it was never filed. Roman crucifixion standard practice was to leave the bodies up for a few weeks to inspire people to avoid similar crimes.
@biggertroy - Then please acknowledge the Scientific definition of Theory, because you have been using the colloquial version which somehow drags theory down to the equivalent of a hypothesis, to which Evolution is far far beyond. We know more about how Evolution works than Gravity - yet Gravity is a law, so yes, thanks for pointing that out. Look in the mirror. Do you really believe that you are NOT an Ape? Instead, you are made in the image of an all powerful Ape look alike?
Sorry , gravity is not a theory but a law because it has been proven to exist. And yes I am very aware of what a theory is, it may be based on facts but it has not been proven. Its funny that you would mention gravity which exists but there is not scientific formula explaining why,
@biggertroy - Google is just a click away, you know. Yes, Gravity is a law, accompanied by the THEORY of Gravity. Its irritating that you freely use Scientific terms without understanding what they mean. "It's only a Theory". You know what Creationism is? It's not even a Hypothesis & it comes nowhere close to meeting even one of the criteria required of a Theory. As for Science "not knowing this or that yet" doesn't mean the discovery will never be made. We still have discoveries all the time.
And I also need to add that evolution is also not a fact. It is a theory just like the big bang theory. There is absolutely no scientific evidence whatsoever supporting evolution. It is all theory. I have yet to see the skeleton of a gorillapotumus, nor has any scientist or anyone else.
@biggertroy Part2: I'm so glad you made a claim about Evolution! I love the Kent Hovind/Ray Comfort ripoffs! No one has ever seen a crocoduck! Hahahahahaha. With this ignorant remark, you demonstrate a glaring and fundamental misunderstanding of what Evolution is in the first place. In fact, if we ever did see a "gorillapotumus" as you so elequently put it, it would actually refute the Theory of Evolution because that's not how Evolution works. Care to try again? What else you got?
I am sorry to disagree and I guess we can just agree to disagree, but the fact is that the big bang theory is a theory and not a fact. And yes you can measure wind and electricity, not sure about the love thing but I wont argue about it. The real fact here is what you dont understand and that is Jesus Christ died for you. Whether you accept it or not is up to you but one thing you nor anyone else will ever do and thats disprove it. Now thats a fact. Disprove it.
@biggertroy - I feel embarassed for you. Don't you understand what a Theory is? A Scientific Theory deals in nothing but facts. Gravity is a Theory too. Uh... wait a minute, you want me to disprove that Jesus died for me? Perhaps you are unfamiliar with the burden of proof. You are making the extraordinary claim, and thus, you are expected to provide the extraordinary evidence to support it or else it retains its staus as a myth.
The first thing I want to do is thank you for not turning this into a hate mail contest. No I guess you cant prove Gods existance or creationism scientifically but you cant prove a lot of things that way. You cant see love or any other emotion, you cant see wind or electricity but they exist. The love I feel from my savior is way more powerful than any doubts someone may throw at me stating whatever reason why they dont believe. My prayer is that someday you will understand and know what I know.
@biggertroy - We can "see" love, as a chemical reaction in our brains detectable by technology we currently have. We can "detect" wind. We can harness and use electricity. The same methods used to derive our advanced medicine and technology are how we discovered the reality of how our Universe works and how we got the huge varieties of life on Earth. The Big Bang event that caused our Universe is a fact. Evolution = Fact. History of humans with overactive imaginations & imaginary friends = Fact.
And as far as the difference between the words say and prove in my post I will just accept the fact that you can probably look up the definitions yourself.
@biggertroy - In context, the word I used to represent your beliefs was appropriate (thats the point). Anyway, can you please address the important part? Why you think that the alternative to Christianity was the idea that the Universe created itself (which isn't an accurate representation of the Big Bang, by the way). If you think its absurd that the Universe could come about "on its own", by that logic wouldnt the eternal existence of an omnipotent, omniscient, etc being be even more unlikely?
@biggertroy- Please explain the difference between "say" in your comment and "prove" in mine and I will gladly issue a retraction on that specific word. Savvy? When it comes to god(s), I do not believe in any. So yes, I'll call BS when I see it. I like Spiderman, but if anyone started to think he was real and lived in Manhattan as comic books detail, I would equally fight against their irrationality. And since when did the Universe "create" itself? Do you even know what you're getting into here?
It also amazes me that some so called people who dont believe in God spend their whole life fighting him. Madaline O'hair is a classic example. Wasted her whole life fighting a God she said she didnt believe in and then put down people that really do believe. Poor poor blinded person she was.
First of all I didnt say prove to me , I said say to me. If you are gonna comment on my post you could at least read it first. All this controversy over nothing ? Hmmmmm
It is so strange to me how the truth can cause so much controversy. These comments not only say to me that Jesus died and rose , but also that satan is very good at his job. Stop fighting the truth and accept what you know is true.
@biggertroy: Random comments on a youtube video prove to you that this jewish carpenter resurrected two thousand years ago? AND that there"s an evil and somehow equal opposing force to this carpenters good will? Your skill at connecting dots that aren"t there is quite magical!
it amazes me how people come to watch these videos and leave negative comments.. Why does ths video bother you so much? its a question worth asking yourself.. and if it does bother you, Why the heck do you watch it? I don't go ahead and watch and leave comments on videos about the green goblin, because I know he doesn't exist...
@1ProudFemaleAtheist I don't know.. I don't watch murder videos because I think murder causes more harm than good. I don't spend my time watching documetaries on rapists, even though they do the world more harm than good.. you see my point? And the world can't be without religion, bc religion is simply one's devotion. If someone is devoted to their work, that is their religion... if they are devoted to their spouse, then he/she is their religion,,, and so on..
@1ProudFemaleAtheist the second part of what i said was added in there.. the important part of my response was the first part.. i wasn't expecting you to reply to the second part,, that was just an aside...
There is NO outside independant evidence for the resurrection, NONE. Why was this astounding fact, why were all those so called miracles, never reported to Rome. If the empty tomb is evidence for the resurrection, then there are many resurrected people in the world.
Where are this guy's sources? He keeps referring to the Gospels and the epistles of Paul as "records". I wrote this comment, so can it be taken as historical record 2 millenia from now? If so, then the entirety of "Dianetics" is overwhelming evidence for the existence of 75 million-year-old spacefaring Cessna DC-8s. This 'investigation' of his sounds like an apologist's form of a thought experiment.
@MultiPaulinator When you get many different people telling the same account of an event it makes it more reliable that it is the truth. How is anything in the history books known to be true??? Because people witnessed the events and recorded what happened!!!!
@cnj4200 ironically stated "Because people witnessed the events and recorded what happened!!!!", coz the historical fact is that Saul or Paul never saw nor met with Jesus in person.
The Empty Tomb is proof that none of the Roman guards of Jesus' tomb faced the death penalty under the Roman Law after the Roman seal of Jesus' tomb was broken there. Instead, they were generously rewarded according to the Bible. CONT>
@cnj4200 needs to recall that Pontius Pilate previously acquitted Jesus of the false charges. Subsequently, it was Jesus' double who was crucified on the cross since the third hour that day in Mark 15:23, whereas Jesus was still in Pilate's court at the sixth hour that same day in John 19:14.
@cnj4200 To be more accurate, it is Mark 15:25 (NOT 23) stating that the crucifixion started at the third hour that day, even though Jesus was STILL in Pilate's court at the sixth hour that day in John 19:14.
@cnj4200 needs to realize that as far as Christ's Resurrection is concerned in the ancient Greek scriptures instead of in Aramaic, the mother-tongue language of Jesus, Mark 16:9-20 about Christ's Resurrection was UNAVAILABLE in there as confirmed by 32 Christian Bible scholars of the RSV, BUT Christ's Resurrection is AVAILABLE in the KJV!!!
All he's doing is preaching, he's putting the Bible into his own words, and analysing it in such a way that one might analyse Shakespeare, except that he believes it's not fictional.
He's not providing any real evidence, just saying what the Bible says. He has no external evidence to back the Bible up.
1) Empty tomb? Do you know how many pyramids and empty tombs in the Egyptian necropolis we've found? Lots. Does this mean that The Curse of the Mummy isn't fiction?
2) Them stealing the body is far more rational (Assuming there ever was a body, or a tomb.). "Hey, look, the tomb's empty, he must've risen from the dead, we were right all along!"
3) If there were that many that witnessed it, there'd be FAR more documentation on it that just the Bible. But no, there are none.
we have much better recorded evidence and (actual) corroborating eye witness testimony from the Salem witch trials...
so Mr. Strobel, by his own logic and reasoning, must conclude that those convicted were in fact witches and all unnatural events mentioned occurred as fact.
@VoodooSixxx You see the evidence, and yet not believe, I'm afraif you just don't want to believe it, not because it is not true, but because of your pride and your blindness, John 20:29 "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."
@188metalhead881 There is NO evidence for the resurrection. NONE. What``s recorded at the earliest 70 0r 80 years after the fact, is hearsay, from hearsay, from hearsay. Nothing else. If their had been a resurrection, and if the corpses of the dead wandered through Jerusalem, this would have alarmed the occupying force and reports would have been send to Rome.
@lizazoon No, Paul knew that people like you would come, those who think that the gospel are fairytales and stuff, that's why he said all of those things, now it's optional for you to believe it or not. And no, I don't think it is a folk tale, from hearsay to hearsay, Alexander the Great's bio was written 400 years after his death, it was surely passed down from hearsay to hearsay. So, it must be kinda like legend mixed up with folk-tales.
@188metalhead881 I don't understand the logic behind throwing Bible verses at people who obviously don't believe what the Bible says. Can you explain what motivated you to do that?
@gupsphoo Well, I'm just telling you what the bible says about, atheism, scoffers and many other things, the bible said that there would be people like you, who wouldn't believe the message of the cross, therefore, 1 Corinthians 1:18 "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God".
@gupsphoo Seems you don't understand anything I said, I SAID THAT I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK! I'M STILL GONNA BELIEVE IN GOD JESUS AND WHAT JESUS DID, IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU OR A COLD HEARTED ATHEIST OR SCIENTIST SAYS, THE BIBLE SAID THAT THERE WOULD BE PEOPLE LIKE YOU WHO WOULDN'T BELIEVE WHAT JESUS DID OR SAID, THAT'S THE SAME ANSWER THAT I GAVE YOU A REPLY AGO, BUT, YOU JUST DIDN'T UNDERSTAND IT.
Mr. Strobel, you are another heretic on the youtube, again. Toddtyszka, the devil has one personality that can be identified easily by anybody. The devil can not say one true word, with his intelligence, because he has no grace of God in himself. Likewise Mr. Strobel can not speak any truth because he also have no grace of God ih himself. He can't handle the truth. And the church of God is exist on earth. The pillar and the ground of all the truth - The one holy Catholic and Apostolic church.
His book is unconvincing to anyone unless you already believe in the bible. If you believe in evolution, natural selection est. you probably dismiss the bible. The book is mainly based on "biblical evidence", and you can't use the bible to prove the bible, you would need an external source of evidence, Don't call the bible true unless you actually know what science and history tells us. But don't take my word for it. Think freely
You know, it's funny, everyone determined to reject Christ are quick to believe in Ghosts, UFO's, or Bigfoot. (Lighten up...not "everyone", but lots of people)
@DCussen The problems stems from the fact that apologists speak from a theological rather than a purely historical basis. So, we will have to agree to disagree. But I have read and attended Strobel's talks, and others, and I see an incredible gap in logic here.

@gregrutz no but they did find the tomb open and his body gone. the evidence all points towards his resurrection. its like have a broken window and saying that someone didn't smash it.
speeron 3 weeks ago
@speeron WHAT? A body that is gone is no proof the dead person got up and walked away.
And the window could have been broke by a hail storm or flying debris. Learn some Logic.
gregrutz 3 weeks ago
@gregrutz ok go with that. so the the tomb is empty. what else could explain the empty tomb? there really isn't another conclusion. as you say its all logic.
speeron 3 weeks ago
@speeron Logic says someone took the body. Logic says dead people don't leave the grave on their own. It is not logic to assume someone is a god or rose from the grave. There is no evidence for a god, you need faith to be religious.
gregrutz 3 weeks ago
@gregrutz ok so someone took the body? who took the body? there is nobody who could have logically stolen the body. it doesn't make sense for anyone to have taken it. and also logic doesn't say that people don't rise from the dead. It's not logically false to rise from the dead it's just something which doesn't normally happen, that doesn't make it logically untrue.
speeron 3 weeks ago

Information39 1 month ago
@johnaursula Or it could mean that my girlfriend or someone else has broken into my computer account. Much the way the stories of Jesus could be made up by a group of people or by the governing body. The governing body, which would have a lot to gain by controlling the masses.

@Information39 Ok. If your girlfriend did lie and pretend to be you, or even if you yourself lied in what you wrote, if you were then confronted with death because of what was writen, would you die for that lie? @johnaursula The "Gospel of John" was written around 100Ad (plus or minus 10 years). The "Gospel of John" was written about 70 years after Jesus death. Not an eyewitness. There is a reason why I say there are no eyewitnesses to Jesus life and death, because there are none.
Information39 1 month ago
@johnaursula When did educational sources become "enemies" of Jesus? And why do you keep saying I have an "agenda". These are things that brainwashed people say. I look to see what religious dvds say when I find things on the History Channel, etc. That is why we have a population of scientologists. They dont look at any educational sources, just infromation from their society.
Information39 1 month ago
@johnaursula Watch any educational dvd on the Gospel of John. Nobody knows who wrote the Gospel of John. The fact that you put the gospel of "St" John. Maybe you would like to inform all the historians of your proof that St. John wrote it, because they dont know who wrote it.
Information39 1 month ago
@johnaursula Let me be clear. There is nothing written by anyone Christian or otherwise DURING JESUS ENTIRE LIFE. Further his birthday is assigned by an astrological events. A few believe it is 30AD, some believe 1AD and some 4AD. His death 30BC-34BC is figured by adding 30 yeas to birthday. So they dont know when Jesus was born, when he died and nobody wrote about him during his life. Everything you gave me is decades and centuries after death.

@johnaursula I completey agree with you on that point. Unfortunately, most US people think Adam and Eve were white, which is what I was referencing.

Information39 1 month ago

Information39 1 month ago
@johnaursula Yes, local floods, not global floods. Nat Geos "search for noahs ark" states they were the result of ice age melts that traveled down the mountains and into low lying regions in Sumer. To the people living there they seemed like global floods. The Bible wasnt meant to be a history book, the Israelites were telling about their lives in story form. Glad we agree on first 5 books. I used to think the whole Bible was literal and real.
Information39 1 month ago
@johnaursula Nat geo, history channel, A&E all state that names on the 4 Gospels are not the people that wrote them. Turn to your Bible at Mark 16:8-16:20. There is a mark in most Bibles. Why is that there? It is a known add on many years later. Unfortunately it is the eyewitnesses to the resurrection. Even the Bible acknowledges it.
Information39 1 month ago
@johnaursula If the story of Noah's Ark were true. Since the flood was worldwide, I should be able to dig down where I stand right now and find a layer of animal skeletons and thick silt. There are 7 billion people on earth and nobody has found that (including archeologists). And yes, this isnt about the new testament, which I will get to now.
Information39 1 month ago

The fossil record is there and DNA confirms the fossil record.

Information39 1 month ago
@johnaursula Not being mean, but ajenda is spelled agenda. The history of King Tut is accepted because the history of him ruling with his name is painted on the walls in Egypt. Unlike Jesus, they found his burial tomb. Unlike Jesus, the DNA evidence from the tomb confirmed that he was the son of Akhenaten (King Tut's father who ruled before King Tut and his stories are also sketched and painted on the walls in Egypt.) The stories, history and science all line up, that is why it is accepted.

Religion is made to verify slavery , a thing that is already normal and in place long before Christianity

bigmike5989 7 months ago
@TheDarvus You're wrong historically when you say Roman aristocrary were the architects of Christianity when historians, both conservative & liberal, all agree that the Roman goverment persecuted & put to death a lot of Christians within the first 300 years of Christianity's existence. Plus the gospel accounts written within 30 years after the death, burial & resurrection of Jesus which people were still were still alive to serve as witnesses to what Jesus said & did.
bigmike5989 7 months ago
@TheDarvus You have no historical basis for saying that Jesus nor the disciples didn't exist. Josephus, an first century Jewish historian, mentioned in his book THE ANTIQUITIES, which he complete around 93 A.D., that a high priest name Ananias took advantage of the death of the Roman governor Festus to have James, the brother of Jesus killed. There are other ancient Roman & Jewish writings like Pliny the Younger & the Jewish Talmud that confirm that Jesus & the disciples did exist.
bigmike5989 7 months ago
@TheDarvus
"and plenty of historians that would go along with that"
can you name a few
niinja2 7 months ago
@TheDarvus The problem with the halluncination theory is that an halluncination can only be seen by one person & you cannot get two people to halluncinate the same thing. Plus Thomas was the only disciple who was skeptical before Jesus appeared to him.
bigmike5989 7 months ago
@TheDarvus All of the gospel writers mentioned that women followers of Jesus were the one who discovered the empty tomb because in first century Israel women were not allowed to testify in a Jewish court of law. If the gospel writers wanted to make the whole thing up, they would have said that male followers of Jesus, not the women followers, were the discoverers of the tomb & that's something that William Lane Craig brought up when he was interview for Lee Storbel book "THE CASE FOR CHRIST ".
bigmike5989 7 months ago
The problem is ... "Who wrote all of this" and "when" you can give all these storis but if the author or the person who wrote this down isn't validated 100% then it still remains a story.
SavetheDream 7 months ago
He claims the the apostles were martured for their faith. There is NO evidence whatsoever for such claims. Even a christian apologetics side state that these martyrdom stories, are mostly the work of Esebius. some 300 years after the (supposed)facts and must not be taken as fact.

@TheDarvus
What exactly do you mean by this? You believe that the Disciples actually didn't existed?
Excuse me but that is a wild claim, which i never heard before. There is no single serious Historian in the world who uphold your claim.

@tjobv This claim is not such a wild claim, unless you have evidence to the contrary. Give me the historical evidence. Thank you.

I'm pretty sure lots of people have died for lies..
SHIBBYiPANDA 9 months ago
@SHIBBYiPANDA: Dying for something does not prove it's true. But it proves you BELIEVE it's true. The disciples claimed they had seen Jesus alive. They had touched him and talked with him. They were so convinced they had seen Jesus they were willing to die for it.
Either the disciples were telling the truth or they were all having the same hallucination. They could not have been liars. They would not have died for something they knew was a lie.
GlumPhoenix 8 months ago
@GlumPhoenix Either that or they pushed a lie really hard and wanted to die with the image of a martyr instead of a huge liar. Think about it, if they pushed a lies that big, then revealing the truth would probably be far worse than dying. U seem to think that when confronted with death or alternative B people will always choose the options that keep them alive vs. kill them but I don't agree with that. It didn't need to be all them either, just a few could have lied and caused history as we kno

jesus claim divinity. Thats why he is crucified.
alangname 9 months ago
@alangname Jesus never claimed divinity, he proclaimed the coming kingdom of God. The Jews being under Roman suppression wanted the kingdom established immediately. Jesus said it is not yet time to restore the kingdom, then told them the parable of the nobleman. Eventually the jews became impatient and believed him to be an impostor and complained to the Roman authorities who crucified him to stop the Jews from wingeing!
Romerosays 9 months ago
@TheDarvus I disagree cuz I'd like some written (or online I guess) documents or research about what you said. What you're saying might make perfect sense but if it's not proven by historical/archaeological authorities it doesn't hold much. Don't forget that as Lee Strobel said, we have a ton of evidence & documents for the New Testament. We're not just relying on Josephus.
Btw, check this out:

I would clarify that no one is knowingly killed for a lie -Jesus and Christians allowed themselves to be killed by others (without fighing back) because they firmly believed in what they were being kllled for
Moni1Suzi2 9 months ago
To Maitrey It would be a straight swap of superstitions except that the evidence is this-why would a determined Hindu choose to follow the faith of his sister whom he humiliated-except that he himself saw the evidence in her of a transformed life in Christ. ?
However with all the evidence (and there is a lot), there is one point : you can only accept the ressurection of Christ by faith
For by grace you have been saved through faith: Eph 2:8 (also Romans 3:28, Heb 11:6)
Moni1Suzi2 9 months ago
Nobody knowingly dies for a lie? Really? Not if your faith depends on it. Look at Islam. Reasoning wrong. Argument debunked.
brento1138 9 months ago

@Moni1Suzi2 - Great !!! You traded one set of unsubstantiated, illogical superstitions for another !!! And this is evidence of what , exactly ?
MaitreyaRocket 9 months ago
@TheDarvus it's not about reasoning it out (although apologetics seems to be that way many times)... you got evidence?... written documents? historians? Josephus was a well-known non-Christian historian. I believe he recorded other historical events as well.
caroleabumoussa 9 months ago
@TheDarvus Wow that's actually pretty interesting.. I would love to read an article about that.. Haha, I am pretty skeptical of that still tho.. Wouldn't Josephus have been to well known a character to live such a double life?

You are pissing in the wind.
MrHobiecat 11 months ago
his distinction between the willingness of terrorists and Jesus' disciples was tenuous at best. He might want to include the topic of Jones town, Branch Davidian's, and Heavens gate in his analysis of willingness to die.

I understand perfectly the words that I have used. I didnt misuse the words, you did. Let me know when the discovery is made.
biggertroy 1 year ago
@biggertroy - Then please acknowledge the Scientific definition of Theory, because you have been using the colloquial version which somehow drags theory down to the equivalent of a hypothesis, to which Evolution is far far beyond. We know more about how Evolution works than Gravity - yet Gravity is a law, so yes, thanks for pointing that out. Look in the mirror. Do you really believe that you are NOT an Ape? Instead, you are made in the image of an all powerful Ape look alike?
shon8121 1 year ago
Sorry , gravity is not a theory but a law because it has been proven to exist. And yes I am very aware of what a theory is, it may be based on facts but it has not been proven. Its funny that you would mention gravity which exists but there is not scientific formula explaining why,
biggertroy 1 year ago
@biggertroy - Google is just a click away, you know. Yes, Gravity is a law, accompanied by the THEORY of Gravity. Its irritating that you freely use Scientific terms without understanding what they mean. "It's only a Theory". You know what Creationism is? It's not even a Hypothesis & it comes nowhere close to meeting even one of the criteria required of a Theory. As for Science "not knowing this or that yet" doesn't mean the discovery will never be made. We still have discoveries all the time.
shon8121 1 year ago
And I also need to add that evolution is also not a fact. It is a theory just like the big bang theory. There is absolutely no scientific evidence whatsoever supporting evolution. It is all theory. I have yet to see the skeleton of a gorillapotumus, nor has any scientist or anyone else.
biggertroy 1 year ago
@biggertroy Part2: I'm so glad you made a claim about Evolution! I love the Kent Hovind/Ray Comfort ripoffs! No one has ever seen a crocoduck! Hahahahahaha. With this ignorant remark, you demonstrate a glaring and fundamental misunderstanding of what Evolution is in the first place. In fact, if we ever did see a "gorillapotumus" as you so elequently put it, it would actually refute the Theory of Evolution because that's not how Evolution works. Care to try again? What else you got?
shon8121 1 year ago
I am sorry to disagree and I guess we can just agree to disagree, but the fact is that the big bang theory is a theory and not a fact. And yes you can measure wind and electricity, not sure about the love thing but I wont argue about it. The real fact here is what you dont understand and that is Jesus Christ died for you. Whether you accept it or not is up to you but one thing you nor anyone else will ever do and thats disprove it. Now thats a fact. Disprove it.
biggertroy 1 year ago
@biggertroy - I feel embarassed for you. Don't you understand what a Theory is? A Scientific Theory deals in nothing but facts. Gravity is a Theory too. Uh... wait a minute, you want me to disprove that Jesus died for me? Perhaps you are unfamiliar with the burden of proof. You are making the extraordinary claim, and thus, you are expected to provide the extraordinary evidence to support it or else it retains its staus as a myth.
shon8121 1 year ago
The first thing I want to do is thank you for not turning this into a hate mail contest. No I guess you cant prove Gods existance or creationism scientifically but you cant prove a lot of things that way. You cant see love or any other emotion, you cant see wind or electricity but they exist. The love I feel from my savior is way more powerful than any doubts someone may throw at me stating whatever reason why they dont believe. My prayer is that someday you will understand and know what I know.
biggertroy 1 year ago
@biggertroy - We can "see" love, as a chemical reaction in our brains detectable by technology we currently have. We can "detect" wind. We can harness and use electricity. The same methods used to derive our advanced medicine and technology are how we discovered the reality of how our Universe works and how we got the huge varieties of life on Earth. The Big Bang event that caused our Universe is a fact. Evolution = Fact. History of humans with overactive imaginations & imaginary friends = Fact.
shon8121 1 year ago
And as far as the difference between the words say and prove in my post I will just accept the fact that you can probably look up the definitions yourself.
biggertroy 1 year ago
@biggertroy - In context, the word I used to represent your beliefs was appropriate (thats the point). Anyway, can you please address the important part? Why you think that the alternative to Christianity was the idea that the Universe created itself (which isn't an accurate representation of the Big Bang, by the way). If you think its absurd that the Universe could come about "on its own", by that logic wouldnt the eternal existence of an omnipotent, omniscient, etc being be even more unlikely?
shon8121 1 year ago
And as far as the diference between the the words say and prove I will just let you look the meanings yourself.

biggertroy 1 year ago
@biggertroy- Please explain the difference between "say" in your comment and "prove" in mine and I will gladly issue a retraction on that specific word. Savvy? When it comes to god(s), I do not believe in any. So yes, I'll call BS when I see it. I like Spiderman, but if anyone started to think he was real and lived in Manhattan as comic books detail, I would equally fight against their irrationality. And since when did the Universe "create" itself? Do you even know what you're getting into here?
shon8121 1 year ago
It also amazes me that some so called people who dont believe in God spend their whole life fighting him. Madaline O'hair is a classic example. Wasted her whole life fighting a God she said she didnt believe in and then put down people that really do believe. Poor poor blinded person she was.

This 'investigation' of his sounds like an apologist's form of a thought experiment.

@MultiPaulinator When you get many different people telling the same account of an event it makes it more reliable that it is the truth. How is anything in the history books known to be true??? Because people witnessed the events and recorded what happened!!!!
cnj4200 1 year ago
@cnj4200 ironically stated "Because people witnessed the events and recorded what happened!!!!", coz the historical fact is that Saul or Paul never saw nor met with Jesus in person.
The Empty Tomb is proof that none of the Roman guards of Jesus' tomb faced the death penalty under the Roman Law after the Roman seal of Jesus' tomb was broken there. Instead, they were generously rewarded according to the Bible. CONT>
saidinmas 1 year ago
@cnj4200 needs to recall that Pontius Pilate previously acquitted Jesus of the false charges. Subsequently, it was Jesus' double who was crucified on the cross since the third hour that day in Mark 15:23, whereas Jesus was still in Pilate's court at the sixth hour that same day in John 19:14.
saidinmas 1 year ago
@cnj4200 To be more accurate, it is Mark 15:25 (NOT 23) stating that the crucifixion started at the third hour that day, even though Jesus was STILL in Pilate's court at the sixth hour that day in John 19:14.
saidinmas 1 year ago

Vehementi 1 year ago
we have much better recorded evidence and (actual) corroborating eye witness testimony from the Salem witch trials...
so Mr. Strobel, by his own logic and reasoning, must conclude that those convicted were in fact witches and all unnatural events mentioned occurred as fact.

@188metalhead881 There is NO evidence for the resurrection. NONE. What``s recorded at the earliest 70 0r 80 years after the fact, is hearsay, from hearsay, from hearsay. Nothing else. Wow, Strobel a newspaper reporter? That's quite resume!
He has his own criteria of what 'evidence' means and it does not jive to what is accepted by scientific means.
Because women were reported of an empty tomb doesn't not constitute evidence. Certainly it's half-baked conclusion.
Lastly, no historical evidence is presented here - just passages in the Bible. No outside sources. So, it's circular logic...
