  • its bad to hold trout in the middle of their body. Head and tail bro.

  • good stuff right there.........

  • 1:03 perfect cast; that would take me 4 or 5 tries and the fish would run for cover. LOL!

  • Great but you could make the camera work a bit more stable

  • winter is a downer nymphin and lazy fish and coldness equals less fun

  • so u wudn't recommend using one in the winter?

  • being that it's winter right now I am getting sick of fishing size 22 and smaller nymphs, can't wait until I can start throwing hoppers and other big dries.

  • Great Vid.....Flied with a hopper yesterday.....great fun!

  • im new to fly fishing so i have a question ... was that a real grasshopper or a fake one?

  • Misfit: - He is using hand-tied grasshopper imitiations. Looks like deer or elk hair for the body. - You can do a search on YouTube for instructions on how to tie these up. Totally deadly on Western trout streams this time of year (Aug/Sep). - Hope this helps.

  • grass hopper work every where wheres there throut

  • then there is bass, crappie, perch, tons! the hopper is the shizzz

  • Great vid! Love the footage on the takes! Fantastic job!

  • because i also live in a region of NC were it gets too hot for trout, i have to settle of pan and bass fish, Ive only been fishing for about 6-8 months but still enjoy catching monster sunnies on nymphs. i think they tend to put a bigger fight than bass a bit larger than them.

  • say, why do people fly fish instead of using a normal rod for like trouts and stuff? cuz i never fly fished bfore

  • wat size grasshopper do u use #10 #12 ???

  • Haha, nice opening. OOOOH GRASSHOPPA

I must know, what is the name of the hopper you used?

Could it be, a rainy's grand hopper? :)

  • Lucky, I only fly fish for sunfish and bass were I live. :(

  • There is trout streams in New york, check the DNR. You're luckier than I am, I have to travel into wisconsin if i want trout.

  • Can life get any better? Nice fish. Great job releasing them. People who keep fish suck.
