I have that exact windows movie maker, but for some reason, whenever i try to narrate the video, it doesn't work. i have the microphone plugged in and made sure it was checked off as the recording device, and i have the volume up and all that, but when i hit "start narration" and try to speak into the microphone, the input level bar thingy is dark and doesn't move or anything. i hit finish and save it, and there is no sound whatsoever. I tried googling this problem with no results.

First I tried to use a hand held Microphone but there was serious backround hissing that I couldn't remove. Now I just plugged in a regular earpiece/mic instead and everything sounds great. Thanks again!

Since I don't use WMM anymore, I think I use to publish the movie with just music and then add that to a new timeline / project in WMM and then add my audio in the audio section and publish it again so that they will be blended together.

Oh, just raise the input level when narrating on windows movie maker. I think that just about every Mic recording software has an input level thing that you can change.

Okay, I have Vista, and I plug in my RB mic like I'm supposed to, and the computer will register it as a Logitech USB mic like it should. Well when I go into Movie Maker or other programs like Audacity, it won't list "Logitech USB mic" as an input option. HELP?

Just turn the volume up a little more then. Another reason the audio isn't great is because I' am using a Rock Band Mic which isn't the top of the line mic.
