  • love the work here

  • This guy inspires me and makes me wish I kept watching the cosmos when I was a child. I grew out of it as time went on.

  • Wow Carl Sagan showed him around Cornell nothing could be cooler. Ever.

  • Im glad carl sagan comes in multiple colors

  • I love NGT's passion.

  • Nice to see the Sagan's successor giving tribute to him. They just announced there remaking cosmos with Dr Tyson as the host. The only one for it.

  • Thanks MicroHive for all three parts, what a great upload. This should be on the homepage of YT so people have the opportunity to watch an inspiring pioneer in the field of Astrophysics, Science has a bad reputation for egocentric scientists who argue over theorems and problems, Mr Tyson however makes the whole subject seem no more complex than rules of a football or basketball game.

  • @pfolan1 Technicality troll coming in here, but I'm not trying to be a dick, I promise.

I think you mean theory rather then theorem. What's the difference you ask? Theorem is a mathematical construct, and a theory is used in reference to a scientific theory. Pythagorean theorem is a good well known example of a theorem while evolution is a good well known example of a scientific theory.

    :D

  • The fact that he got that kind of treatment from Carl Sagan makes me rage with jealousy... Neil you lucky bastard.

  • When Neil Tyson makes words its magical.

  • Wow. Great story about Carl Sagan. Neil Degrasse belongs to the new generation of inspiring people, seeking the poetic truth about the cosmos, and celebrating the joy of using one's mind to discover.

  • The Carl Sagan story is just freaking awesome.

  • Wow.. That last part about carl sagan gave me goosebumps.. :)

  • driving to vegas at 12am from Los angeles, i saw the sky the way it was meant to be seen, i was astonished and a bit scared haha.. when i 1st saw jupiter and it's planet's moons thru a high powered telescope at an observatory, i felt not as small

  • I want Neil to teach me math!

  • neil is the best at making it easy for people to understand science and the universe

  • Dude, I almost died laughing.

WHY IS THERE A BLACK MAN ON THAT ROOF?! IS THAT A BAZOOKA?!?!?!

    Lololololol.

Tyson is one of the best voices of science to the public. He doesn't project (even if he has) the same poetic spirit or profundity of thought as a Sagan, but he has the same visible enthusiasm and candor, plus, a down-to-earth accessibility that I really like.

Keep up the good work, Neil.

  • carl sagen is the man

  • the best dosent some it up hes like the best and the coolest witch = greatset

  • Wow, so inspiring.

  • Now I finally understand why Neil is the next Carl. Carl passed the torch to him, aware of it or not.

  • Neil deGrasse Tyson is so cool.

  • Heh. He said doodie.

Seriously though. He should have said the bus couldn't make it.

Could have shared some pot with Sagan. What else is college for?

  • I wish I could be fluent in math, but I suck badly at it. :(

  • Couldn't agree with you more Brainkiller ;D

Im also so jealous of Neil having experienced such a stimulative encounter with Carl Sagan.

Although Im scared if I ever "get over" this "barrier" of slack. I catch myself too many times on taking the easy way out and waiting for someone to clear the road ahead of me from bumps.. ;<

  • Neil deGrasse Tyson is the best

  • @Brainkiller

    I love him ^_^

  • @Brainkiller don't you mean, THE BEAST!

    lol
