  • Sounds so bloody okka is he Aussie ?

  • Beautiful soft version

  • Bad dreams in the night

They told me I was going to lose the fight

    Leave behind my wuthering, wuthering

    Wuthering Heights

Heathcliff, its me, Cathy come home

I'm so cold, let me in-a-your window

  • I always thought a man should cover this song. In the lyrics she says something about possessing Heathcliff so it makes sense that she is speaking from his body.

  • so happy I found this on iTunes! it is part of the 'No Man's Woman' compilation CD...in case anyone wanted to know.

  • I need THIS AND CAN'T FIND IT ANYWHERE TO DOWNLOAD IT??? I NEED THIS ON MY MP3.

I'm not a Pyke fan, but this I love, I do prefer this than Kate's and to cover her song and to pull it off is impressive.

  • @arsebrain you could alwys download it straight from here with realplayer, its a free multimediaplayer... thats what i do :)

  • I need THIS AND CAN'T FIND IT ANYWHERE TO DOWNLOAD IT??? I NEED THIS ON MY MP3.

  • this makes me think of Cathy's perspective more while listening to Kate Bush makes me think of Heathcliff's perspective. Heathcliff always looked like Timothy Dalton until I read the book when I was 14 and then I decided he'd look more like Ashmit Patel, John Abraham or Mohammad Reza Golzar. Now I can only think Tom Hardy! *sigh*

  • holy fuck. <3

  • better than the original

  • people can complain all they like, but this is damn good and i have no problem with it, both pieces are creative and interesting so whats with the hostility?

  • HE DOES ITS BETTER THAN ANYONE!!!

  • I absolutely love this!!! I never thought there would be an acoustic version of this song...it is WONDERFUL!!! I never did like the Kate Bush version of this song. I liked the Pat Benitar version. Wuthering Heights is one of my all time favorite classic movies! Thanks for making this!

  • This is a tough song to pull off but you guys did an awesome job.

  • I love Josh Pyke, the chrous is the best thing about this one though

  • I can't even think of any words to describe how much I love Josh Pyke.

  • I'm addicted to your music after hearing this on Radio 2 last year.. just wanted you to know.. that you opened my ears to a lot of new artists.. Very brave to tackle such a classic ..and my lord did you do it justice!.. flipping awesome!

  • Greatest cover ever! Wolfmother isn't bad but I like this way better XD

  • I guess you'll stone me, but I think this version lacks wicked quality of the original. It's just another sexless, guitar indie song. It's not ruined, but doesn't grab any attention.

  • @tablicakorkowa I agree. The theatrics of the original matched the content of the lyrics. This one's nice, but not as powerful.

  • like this version!

  • I listened to this version intending to rip on it b/c I love the original with all of my heart and soul... but i can't.... not even a little bit. Beautiful.

  • I love this version XD

  • awesome...wonderful cover!

  • I love this so much.

  • This is awesome.

  • I loved this - have to admit he had balls to take it on

  • And he pulled it off perfectly. no pun intended

  • Beautiful ... just beautiful

  • while i love this cover and i think his voice matches the guitar it doesnt work for the song you need the higher notes in it for the song to have real power like when it is sung by Kate Bush

  • this is insanely beautiful

  • love this cover.......

  • THIS. IS. FRICKEN. AMAZING.

One of the best covers of any song I have ever heard in my entire life.

    I am addicted to this.

  • IT'S YOU!

  • Has somebody analyzed what he did to the chords? Especially in the beginning of the song he's doing some pretty arcane stuff. Send me if a message if you transcribed them.

  • Actually disagree with you there, they sound like Kate's original chords. Do you mean the opening riff?

  • He covered a great song, he has the damn right. You can't expect him to sing like a woman. That's what this whole album is. A comparisin. Excellent job I say.

  • I can't describe how much more interesting and listenable this version of this song is than all the other covers and even the original.

  • I agree, my thoughts exactly!

  • Fuckoff Gimp

  • yeah well I destroyed your mother last night, but you don't see me complaining

  • What a cover. Awesome Josh!!!!

  • Oh wow!

  • I really never liked the original and didn't believe anyone could even do a mediocre over - this however is brilliant.

  • Brilliant!

  • I love the original but this version is brilliant. Josh's voice is perfect.

  • This song sung by a man is just strange.

  • Listen To 'Angra -Wuthering Heights' The guy who sings it pulls it off heaps better than Mr Pyke.

  • I find that hard to believe and i have seen Angras clip.

    What planet are you from???

  • yes, i agree comopletely with you. angras clip is way out of the range of the person singing it, asd they are singing falsetto

  • That's rather a thick-headed comment from someone whose profile says he's an aspiring composer. Kate Bush has fans ranging from Tupac Shakur and Johnny Rotten to Coldplay and Natalie Cole. She's one of the most respected singer-songwriters of the last 30 years. You won't develop as a musician if you don't recognize quality when you hear it.

  • Just heard him on radio 2(uk), ive never realy understood this song until i heard him sing it. Very good x

  • I really think this conveys the melancoly much better than the original. I really get a feeling of resigned desperation from this, but also a bit of hopefulness towards the end. What a fantastic cover this is.

  • where i can download thisss songgg pleeeease

  • In general I prefere Kate Bush's version (somehow her unusual voice seems to match it very well), but this cover version doesn't fall to far behind the original. I really like the mellow tunes and the chorus is very nice.

  • Freaking awesome, I love this song and I never saw Josh Pyke doin a cover. he nailed it!

  • i can honestly say i didn't care much for the kate bush version of this song. not my style. i like this version a lot more.

  • I love Josh's voice, singing this song is such a perfect combination. He's really made it his own. I was dreading hearing him sing the chorus three octaves higher! haha.

  • I'm a diehard Kate Bush fan form way back..and i think any artistic tribute to her is awesome..i see complaints that its not as good as original or whatever...but its not trying to be! Lets face it, no-one could really copy Kate Bush!! Good onya Josh..Beautiful!!

  • This is interesting, I still think Angus (from Angus and Julia Stone) version of the Joni Mitchell's "River" was just amazing.

Good cover though, Josh is awesome in his own right anyway.

  • so beautiful!!

  • I will add this along with Pat Benatar's version as my fav versions. I appreciate Kate Bush, her music is beautiful but I have a hard time taking her singing of this song as anything but cartoonish and way too busy.

  • josh pyke is a mad artist and i love the way he performs so this interpretation to me is xcellent

  • Unusual version, but good version. I personally prefer the Kate Bush, and even the Hayley Westenra version since I feel that it really captures the freaky and haunting qualities of the book and of course the song. But this one has a soothing, somewhat dreary quality to it.

  • Thanks for the feedback guys! Will hopefully be adding another two from the 'No man's woman' album very soon.... Hyperballad and Boys in Town

  • add river and nothing compares 2 u (angus stone, dan kelly) as well!!! best fricken album ive bought in ages!

  • this song is about passion. Its a plea from the heart. Its spiky, its a hoare frost on a cold morning. Its snorting horses. Its a love hate relationship. Its fierce. Its two ghosts walking together at last. It Wuthering heights. Its kate Bush. This version lacks all of this. The very essence of the story and the song.

  • EVERYBODY should read Wuthering Heights it is an awsome novel. This version sounds much better in my ears than does Kate Bush's version. Not that shes bad, just not my thing.

  • This is a truly beautiful cover. Always found Kate Bush a little bit much but Josh's stripping of this down to its simplest form just made this song so beautiful.... can't stop listening to it!

  • Thanks for the posting! I found this song a bit strange at first being covered by a male when it is from a very female pov, but after multiple listens, I have found that although Josh hasn't meddled with the original lyrics, he sings the chorus "Heathcliff, it's me your Cathy, I've come home" to sound like "Heathcliff it's me, you're Cathy you've come home". So it becomes from Heathcliff's perspective. I found that really romantic and beautiful!

  • awesome, anyone know where i can download this?

  • Awesome cover.

  • Wow so thats the lyrics to this song!! I always had trouble understanding Kate Bush..

  • i really like this version of "wuthering heights", josh is amazing. his album "memories and dust" is so bloody good.

  • Very nice version! I like Josh Pyke..."Memories and Dust" is awesome. And has a very nice clip too... :)

  • Thanks for posting mate. Awesome cover.

  • No probs

  • Nice :)
