Yello Jackets. Otherwise known as "common wasp" kill parisitic insects that are harmfull to organic material. They also happen to be less agressive than the European honey bee. All of you posting comments on how we should just kill them all should look up avaliable intellgence on the subject before you make assumptions based off of a mans unfortunate expierence with what appears to be honey bees. Yello jackets are never found in a quanitity that was displayed on this video. You are mistaken.
@saintsmatt9 Either you don't know what a Yellow Jacket is, or have an alternate definition of them. I grew up in the southeastern US where yellow jackets are extremely common, know from painful personal experience that they are *extremely* aggressive and attack en masse with unrelenting fury after only small (usually unintentional) provocations.
I was at war with yellow jackets outside my house for years, but i eventually gave up, every summer they build nests under the window shutters, as long as i don't bother them they don't bother me. But if you accidently provoke them watch out.
I had a yellow jacket nest inside my hot tub casing that showed up in the matter of a couple of days. I had an exterminator come to remove it - it had grown to 3 feet in diameter and about 9 inches tall in only a couple of days. He came at 6 am to get to it before they become active. Only got stung once, but the day before my little pug got stung twice. I guess if they sting you they emit a scent on you and you will get swarmed. Very scary!
@tlroberts52 I didn't see that you were writing about a nest so i thought you said a yellow jacket that was 3 feet in diameter and about 9 inches tall now that would be something to see haha
Yellow jackets are wasps, not bees. They build huge nests and are nasty little bastards. I recommend a couple (at least 2) cans of heavy duty long-range hornet blaster, like from Green Cross Bug-B-Gone. It seems to kill them faster than Raid, and a fast kill is important when dealing with these little fuckers.
I like bees, I like black & white hornets, and I even like paper wasps. But yellow jackets are like earwigs - nothing but pests.
I just got attacked by yellow jackets today and got stung 3 times so I had to go back and spray down the nest with bee killer, nearly using up the whole can.
I was hitting golf balls in my backyard once and decided to hit one out of the leaves. After I hit it I looked down and they were all over my shoes and pants. Ran into the house and about a dozen followed me from room to room. Literally from the basement to every room in the house. Only got stung once so I was lucky but those things freak me out!!!
ya well i got attacked by a swarm of them myself, it wasn't my fault eater some dumb dude decided to put a stick in it and me n my group of runners couldn't see them they flyed so fast we thought it was regular bugs then we walked right through it BAM coverd in them hurts like hell i got round little scars on my legs and arms
You are very fortunate, This is a perfect example of what can happen when these Yellow Jacket hives are disturbed. Dubbed YELLOW DEATH, You and your dog could have had a much worse outcome with this very large colony. I have been a victim of these tiny and very aggressive little guys. You can easily walk right into their hive without any knowledge of them until its too late because they are many times underground with only a tiny hole for an entrance. Great video though. Glad your all ok.
i caught one of those little bastards in my house it didnt come after me but after awhile it calmed down.. i even gave it some sugar water. like half a teaspoon. they look ridiculous
15 years ago I climbed a tree and came across a yellow jacket nest. They immediately went for my face I bounced from branch to branch all the way to the bottom. I went to run inside my apartment building (one where you had to get buzzed in) and my brother got there before me and closed it and didn't let me in. Instead he stuffed the hallway rug under the door and watched and laughed. My face became a marshmallow from the stings. His became a marshmallow from my fists.
I was once in my back yard by the pool I was like 5 and cutting off the bee's head was bored didn't know better then they next thing I know not only was I getting attacked by bee's and wasps too dozens of times before jumping in the pool they then left me alone got lucky no problems after words just walked it off.
I prefer to pour a cup of gasoline down their hole at night and light it. You always see the stragglers the next day wondering what happened to their home.
Sorry, but why these bees are such agressiv, if I may ask? With us in Switzerland, aren`t hornets not that agressiv, one can them let on the own hands, if one is cool and calm. And also bees and wasps the same....
mann thats a lot of bees ,1 time i was camping in Tennessee and i had a lantern and i was playing cards and the buzzing sound kinda appeared so i started to look around and seen it hitting my camper so i ran inside and grabed my flyswatter, i hit it and it was as big as a matchbox car

i stepped on a yellow jacket nest once in grade 5 and evryone got stung i ran as fast as i could for like a minute and i threw my jacket off and had about 50 on it scariest day ever i am now deathly afraid i freak out everytime i see a bee aha

We had a yellow jacket nest in the concrete block of our garage every summer for years. They always came over to sip from our drink glasses, so I began bringing out a small saucer of fruit jelly stationed well away from the patio, just about each day. On days when we were not out, or early in the morning before I brought them their jelly, one would come to my window seeking my attention! Also, when ever they'd run out of jelly, one or two would come to me, fanning their wings gently! True!!
@TheJbach that's pretty neat. i've always hated wasps and bees but after hearing that story i'd still be more than happy to spend a day burning millions of them to death with a blowtorch.

Yellow jackets are awful awful things. Never been stung by a bee in my life, but oh hell have i been stung by yellow jackets, they get pissed over ANYTHING and god help you if you unknowingly mow over their nest.
@Retroshooter123 Nope. A bee are the ones you see all over flowers that look like their bodies are fuzzy up close. A yellow jacket has a smooth body like a wasp, and is bright yellow and and black striped. A bee(of pretty much all sorts) are a softer yellow on a black body mostly. I believe a yellow jacket is in the wasp family, and they are highly aggressive wheras it's rare for bees to sting. Bee keepers that are constantly in and around the nest of bees rarely get stung.
@Retroshooter123 Also like i said you usually see bees on flowers, yellow jackets go after anything sugary, they ruin picnics, trying to go after open containers of soft drinks, water melons, cake, etc.
@kakashisensei9258 My mom mowed over one of their holes and they swarmed her and she got 13 stings before she got away, she was laid up in bed for 2 days. I mowed over a hole and they landed all over me but couldn't get me through my shirt and pants, and i got super lucky and none managed to get under. I ran up to the door with them clinging all over me and ran inside cuz they were circling around me, then i turned around and my mom saw them all over me stinging my baggy mowing clothes.
@onliner10000 The difference is that bees rarely sting, and make honey, and are generally helpful to nature, polinating and such. Yellow jackets sting all the time, ruin picnics, and do not make honey.
@hzuiel Yellow Jackets are WEAK! I swear...I am more cautious of Red Wasps and Bald Faced Hornets...but Yellow jackets are WEAK fuckers. Disturbed a hanging nest of about ten one time...my brother got stung by them all and I got away scotch free haha! :P
@SoulKiller7Eternal Yellow Jackets are very aggressive i have had a friend who weighs in the 250 range brought down by a small nest of these wasps. and most you exterminators will say the yellow jacket is highly aggressive since all's it takes is the slightest sound to set them off. don't get me wrong a mahogany wasp (actually species name) and bald faced are just as nasty.

@hzuiel i have done that thank god i watch billy the exterminator and found out how to neutralize them with out being completely swarmed. i had a friend who got swarmed and had to be medically evacuated after a run in with these very nasty wasps
Yellow Jackets are aggressive little bastards, but you are a sissy. Put the toy calmly down, put the camera calmly down and walk away. I was probably stung 12 times last year just standing on my back porch. This year, I plan to do a lot of macro work filming them
@TheMarkFellows Oh wow 12 times? Holy shit that is incredible. You are totally not a sissy. Can i have your autograph or something? 12 times in one year oh my god....
For the record, yellowjackets are not bees. Honey bees are very gentle, and will rarely sting unless you are killing them or stealing their honey. Bees are very beneficial pollinators, and we would die of starvation without them. On the other hand, I think we would be okay if hornets and wasps disappeared off the face of the earth.
How wrong you are. They primarily eat other insects and they eat alot, without them, the balance in nature could shift and you would have to many other insects. Catastrophic all eating grasshoppers as just one example.
No, if an animal or plant exists, we probably need it, whether you like it or not.
These aren't killer bee's, they aren't even bee's; but wasps. These ones here hunt for other insects, insects that otherwise would damage the habitat.
Killer bee's search for flowers. And NO, they are not a mutation. They are a mixture from African bee's and our normal bee's, increasing efficiency in honey, but unfortunately also aggression in protecting it.So killer bees are a human made problem.
Maybe wasps in yer neck of the woods are dumb, but 'round here (and in many places) you better bug the f... out 'cause they'll immediately recognize anything out of place and attack it. They sting first and ask questions later.
Wasp logic 101 - If it's sting-able it's a threat or fresh meat or both.
There are times to be a "wasp whisperer", but even a non-Africanized yellow jackets kill ya'. About 40 people die in the US per year from stings.
@wkLeoTrooper They'll light you up like the 4th of July! When I lived with a family in Coopertown, TN these beasts attacked three people at the house who mowed over the hole or just walked over it unsuspecting of the painful occupants. I sat down close to the hole, covered it with glass and surrounded everything with kerosene. damned thing burnt for days, but I never got stung believe it or not!
@zx1400a7f Lol that'll do it. I've never burnt them, I just pour bleach down in their hole. But I have roasted plenty of paper wasp nests with starting fluid :)
d00d, bees arent wasps and vice versa, rename your video. I actually thought you had some footage of bees attacking a wasps nest, which would be epic. this is however what wasps do when you get near them, which is get excited and nothing that interesting.
Do you see this? Do you know what this is? This is a wasp. Its mission in nature is, to fuck shit up wherever it goes. It does not pollinate things, it does not make honey, It is not a bee. It is a motherfucking wasp. You cannot battle the wasp, the wasp is never alone. It is always accompanied by violent, more aggressive
Do you see this? Do you know what this is? This is a wasp. Its mission in nature is, to fuck shit up wherever it goes. It does not pollinate things, it does not make honey, It is not a bee. wasps. When you see a wasp, do u know what to do? You stand the fuck still, you chill the fuck out. and hope it doesn't put you on its list of things it wants to fuck up today, you stand right the fuck there, and wait for the wasp to finish it's business, and move on with it's rampage... then you go the fuck home.
@MultiStickATG There's a problem with that. Everyone seems to not realize that there's a difference between yellow jackets, wasps, and hornets. Yellow jackets are the killer bees of the Hymenoptera bugs. They will attack a car standing still and try to bite and sting the windshield.
@MultiStickATG Furthermore, that doesn't work when you're disturbing a nest. It's one thing to be standing around when they're in foraging mode, just checking you out. It's quite another when you disturb a nest. Bees, wasps, hornets, they all get excited and move into a biological attack mode. Standing still will only get you wounded, even killed if you disturbed a nest.
@MultiStickATG You are exactly right. I had several agressive pissed of wasps landing on me when we were kids and I sat still and never got stung. If I was there with these guys in the video 3 minutes into the frenzy I would have slowly walked in and standed over the whole and stood still and porbably wouldnt get stung once.
@vonkiser only degenerate illiterate retards like you ( and the guy above and below) dont understand that they are good for the environment. U don't deserve to be called human
@shadowstrife3117 Agreed. The are a nonnative invasive species. Its believed they came fom Europe by boat, but either way they suck. I had about 150 swarming around me while i was cleaning a deer. They are much more carnivorous than i ever though them to be. I tried being calm and didnt get stung but once while working in the swarm for about a half hour so i suppose my docile nature kept them calm too. Also if there's one thing i've ever learned, its to never mess with a jacket hive.
@steelpsufan I was freaked by this video, In the fall, when yellow jackets hang around outside like on your car, or near food stands, or whatever, they are so easy to just kill. But little do we know how angry these little critters really are.
I squashed one on my car in the little inditation in the window and the door. This yellow jacket fought it's way back and chewed off it's butt , then with just a little more then it's head, it still bit me. WTF !?!?!?
Yellow Jackets are 100% Totally Worthless! I hate 'em... have absolutely no positive purpose in life. I would have went back with a 5 gallon bucket of gasoline and dumped it on them!
I dunno if I am alone about this.. but I am TOTALLY frightened by all! bee's and insects that can even make the same sound as they can with their wings.
I kinda feel sad for the poor camera :) hahaha
but jeez! I get goosebumps from the sound of those dunno what that kind of phobia is called where you fear the sound of those, its not the sting I fear, or maybe it is, sort of, but still..

tezp2002 11 months ago
For the record, yellowjackets are not bees. Honey bees are very gentle, and will rarely sting unless you are killing them or stealing their honey. Bees are very beneficial pollinators, and we would die of starvation without them. On the other hand, I think we would be okay if hornets and wasps disappeared off the face of the earth.
dgglavich1 11 months ago 3
@dgglavich1
How wrong you are. They primarily eat other insects and they eat alot, without them, the balance in nature could shift and you would have to many other insects. Catastrophic all eating grasshoppers as just one example.
No, if an animal or plant exists, we probably need it, whether you like it or not.
Bratcipheo 11 months ago
@Bratcipheo killer bee's were a mutation
NukeThunderBlast 11 months ago
@NukeThunderBlast
You amuse me. Learn me teach you.
Wasps are not.

Awareness is the best defense.

@wkLeoTrooper They'll light you up like the 4th of July! When I lived with a family in Coopertown, TN these beasts attacked three people at the house who mowed over the hole or just walked over it unsuspecting of the painful occupants. I sat down close to the hole, covered it with glass and surrounded everything with kerosene. damned thing burnt for days, but I never got stung believe it or not!
zx1400a7f 1 year ago

It is always accompanied by violent, more aggressive

@MultiStickATG why dont u run away when u see it
justinjt100 1 year ago
@MultiStickATG There's a problem with that. Everyone seems to not realize that there's a difference between yellow jackets, wasps, and hornets. Yellow jackets are the killer bees of the Hymenoptera bugs. They will attack a car standing still and try to bite and sting the windshield.
WritingFighter 1 year ago
@MultiStickATG Furthermore, that doesn't work when you're disturbing a nest. It's one thing to be standing around when they're in foraging mode, just checking you out. It's quite another when you disturb a nest. Bees, wasps, hornets, they all get excited and move into a biological attack mode. Standing still will only get you wounded, even killed if you disturbed a nest.
WritingFighter 1 year ago
@MultiStickATG AGREED when i see a wasp i like freak out i just stand ther and hope it gos away
mnuper 1 year ago
@MultiStickATG Actually if you're near the nest and they get your scent they will attack regardless of if you move around or not.

WTF !?!?!?

I kinda feel sad for the poor camera :) hahaha
but jeez! I get goosebumps from the sound of those dunno what that kind of phobia is called where you fear the sound of those, its not the sting I fear, or maybe it is, sort of, but still..
Great movie :D
