I lived in Iran& in 1977 , when I was a young boy , was arriving by train to Tehran station about 30-40 meter far from rail way just near tehran station I watched many small houses(20-30 sqr.meter) which these houses were made with plate boxes as blocks full of mud , at the same time Mohammad Reza Pahlavi was living at very luxus palaces like Niavaran , thus the nation toppled him in Revolut. 1979 correctly .The history is BEST TEACHER sir !

It is very clear & simple; According to constition appr. 1906 Mohammad Reza Shah was ONLY " the Shah " not more, please be careful to point . Due to this LAW , the SHAH has no right to interfere in executive , legislative ,judiciary affairs , thus he is not responsible for these issues& thus remains SHAH for whole of life, is neutre .

I,m older than you , am lived during Shah,s era . In march 1975 (Esfand 1353), M.R. Shah as apolitical activist founded his Party Rastakhiz ,& dissolve all other polit. parties like USSR . The Shah annonced : " ALL Iranians should become a member of my party , if not should take their passport& leave the country .." Please note that according to the Iran constitution App. 1906 & later revised of this law Mohammad Reza Shah was only the the " SHAH " but without any executive , legislative ,juduciary duty or power . Sadly but M.R Shah did not want be Shah he insisted to manage or rule the people illegally .

@IranMarzban & About the Pahlavi ,s government ...I didn,t write any word about democracy ..it is very simple to get it . There is an agreement between two ( 2) sides : 1. Agreement is constitution . 2. One side is Mohammad Reza Pahlavi as the Shah or King of Iran 3. the 2nd side is the nation who should trust to Shah . In sept. 1941 (1320) M.R Shah sworn in his holy Book Quran to remain faithfull to law ! why he didn,t ?

qajarid mossadeq wanted to much power for him self, and there was danger of communism.., tudeh had tried to kill the shah. Azerbayjan and kurdish regions of Iran seperated by soviet union. They were bringing all kinds of "fetneh", danger against Iran, and I think these were the reasons that made shah to take more control of the country. In the early 40s Iran was relatively democratic.

According to your explanations / reasons , there had been established measurement in the constitution of Iran the" PRIME MINISTER" , for such problems which you,ve mentioned was / is responsible . If M.R Shah Pahlavi was very worry about such dangers he could become prime minister of Iran& manage/ rule the country legally . If wanted be" the Shah " , he would remain INACTIVE according to law .
