The Artists' communications come through LOUD & CLEAR - wonderfully so - even on tiny YouTube "screen" and rather "raw" studio production. The energy is staggeringly amazing & awe-inspiring. I hope they make it to U.S.A. this year (2012) - what an experience~!~!~!
This performance is from a 1988 showing of NBC's Night Music (also known as Sunday Night). This was the second song - following a performance of the great song Asimbonanga (Mandela). When I saw this performance the first time it aired, I was completely blown away - one of only a handful of times that's happened with a musical performance. I've been a fan ever since.
Ah Thank you for your comment, I would say that this will allow me to see some pretty clear to put better. But say I want to see this video to which you refer, so if you have the link, please add it to your next comment. Thank you for your attention and your understanding.
@Marcusgavet - the video was on youtube for a long time but it was finally removed, probably by NBC or some such corporation. Greed trumping art and life-giving once again. No matter - you've brought it back for all of us. Thank you.

My first exposure to this song, and to Clegg, was watching a similar performance on Saturday Night Live around the same time, late 80s.
