Express Yourself is a song about getting what you want from your relationship, more or less, Born This Way is about loving yourself no matter who you are and standing up against society's BS. Musically there may be a similarity here or there but, the songs are about two different things and I do not get the same feeling from both songs. So, IMO, this comparison is a bit of a stretch.
