I have sympathy for refugees, but why do so many try and get into the UK when they pass through several other (perfectly safe) European countries on the way? We cannot keep taking in more and more people each year - we may not have the highest migration rates in Europe, but per person and given the small size of this country, then it is a problem.

In my country Japan, people don't know the fact don't care the fact.

I disagree Nicci. Sometimes I despair over liberal Brits..I dont hate asylum seekers.I just hate when they let too many in..Making a strain on our economy!

As a British citizen I am LUCKY to have been born in a country that will give me money if I don't work. There are laws that will protect me if I am discriminated against.

If I had been born in a different country then I would not be so LUCKY!

How can you have been born in the UK, have recieved FREE education, financial support from our government - and feel such hatred for other people who happen to have been born in a different country?Sometimes I despair of my fellow British citizens.

Its not free, Its been brought and paid for by our parents and grandparents and us.Within living memory my mother who's nearly ninety can remember kids scavenging in clothes no more than rags with no shoes. I work and pay my taxes so do my children in the hope that my grandchildren and there children can also reap the same rewards.We have enough freeloaders of our own.I don't hate these people.I just don't want to keep them.

I agree with you! We forget how shit things were in the pass in the uk, but if we worked together to create a better country then why don't the other country's???

People just run away and don't stand for anything and try and make things better.

We should have been like Germany and not given out passports to Asylum seekers.
