  • Hello Steve, which Car would you say is the best? Mustang, Camaro, Charger or Challenger? And which Half-Ton pick up is the best?

  • @SuperSportPala I prefer the Challenger overall and the Ford F-150.

  • It's a 6.4L ?

  • i love the look of this car, and i hope that the old classic muscle car look makes a full comeback

  • that white on gray looks clean!

  • ... Why are you driving a street performance muscle car in the dirt...?

  • @BlackKnight989 because he is talking about the adaptive suspension system

  • awesome car, i like it as much as my camaro!

  • what a beautiful car

  • its just too heavy, and too expensive.

  • What the fuck are you doing on the grass and the gravel??? Jesus

  • I have to say I'd rather have a Mustang GT.

  • the Challenger Heavy It's like a tank soo... the Mustang 5.0 Defeat the Challenger SRT8

  • $45k-$50k for that Chrysler Corp. piece of junk, are you serious ? For $30k you can get a 2 year old Jaguar XFR turbo that looks 10 times better, built 10 times better and would smoke the Charger like it was standing still.

  • I'm pretty sure the 2012 Mustang 5.0 GT would walk that in a race...

  • Between the SXT, T/A, and SRT Challenger which one gives the best ride in comfort on beat up roads? Which car will isolate you from bumps in the road better?

  • What the challenger lacks in power in comparison to the Mustang and Camaro it gains in driving comfort. Driving the Mustang with the solid rear end axle is not good when you hit bumps and you will feel all the irregularities in these roads. It will beat you up on a rough road. Challenger has a bigger wheelbase over the competition.

  • i love muscle cars especially the challengar but then i realized i dont want to just go fast in a straight line i want my car to handle good to cause of my giant dick too it has to be able to handle that to right? am i right? thumb me up if you hate when people report you just cause you cursed and beat the shit out of babys in your spare time just like me :)

  • I know paddle shifters are supposed to be better than regular stick shifts, but I just can't wrap my head around it. Maybe I'm old school, but nothing like good ol' manual shifting.

  • @halfgoodhalfevil Especially in the twisties, turns and canyon mountain driving. Don't need brakes.

  • @halfgoodhalfevil a manual is better especiall on twisty roads. Correct me if I'm wrong on this and you use your brakes less. But which one auto or manual as a whole on this heavy 4,100+ LB. car will have less maintance i.e brakes, shocks, tires etc.

  • Great review. I like all the camera shots.

  • Interesting to note that in the final scene the start up in the garage is accompanied by major tappet rattle . .

  • @calisavag the original Challengers were also made with slant 6's..... so no, it is not an unreasonable request for a review on the V6 model.

  • All dodge has to do is stick the viper v10 in a challenger call it srt10 and done.

  • Costs too much goes to slow and mpgs are shitty. But it looks great and is the most practical with lots of room. This car needs to be a 12sec or under car for the price. New shelby around the same price has 650hp. Mustang is in the lead followed by camaro then the challenger. And this thing is not $45k. Goto the stealership it starts at $55k. Saw one for $58k. Drop the price and you will sell alot more.

  • @nismofury $52,000 here but I was told if I order from factory it's MSRP.

  • I love Dodge and Chrysler and I would kill for a 426 hemi in my car but as much as it hurts to say this, they need to ditch the hemis. They are too simple, don't produce enough horses, have poor low end acceleration and suck on gas so maybe things would be better if they tried to develop a stronger, more modernized motor. Does it bother anyone that Ford makes a little 5.0 with 415 hp and it devours this 470 hp 6.4 liter powerhouse?

  • @alessandrozerbone they will never get rid of hemis. its their past time.

  • @GuitarMaster310 The new hemis just cannot live up to the legend of the ones from the 60s. If dodge doesn't make a new V8, they will always be left behind.

  • @alessandrozerbone true they may make a new V-8 but it will most likely still bave hemispherical heads and therefor still be called a hemi. It would be nice if they came out wit a new 426

  • @GuitarMaster310 the hemispherical heads is not what I'm bothered by, it's the simplicity of the engines given we're in 2012, dodge is probably the only manufacturer out there putting single camshafts blocks in every popular car they make, while everyone else has 2 camshafts. Dodge was the only company loyal to their heritage, the challenger looks best of the 3 ponies but Ford and chevy are making some serious V8s now and dodge is stuck with the same modern hemis for nearly 6 years

  • @alessandrozerbone The Mustang GT 5.0 beats the Challenger SRT-8?

  • @microminiskirt The new ones absolutely do, and it I do not understand why. Ford is about to release the new shelbys with 5.8L V8s that develop nearly 650 hp, and Dodge's new 6.4L puts down about 450 hp an even Dodge's 7.0L crate motors can't even break 600 horses either. It's frankly disappointing

  • Hopefully Dodge will come out with an official new generation 426 Hemi.

They have unveiled a Charger with a whopping 590 HP.

    But it's not roadlegal... yet.

Bring back the Elephant Engine Dodge.

  • monster car

  • made in canada and engine is mexican mustang is mad in usa

  • THAT's a nice retro-old-shool design I like!

  • HOW WELL WILL THIS CAR RUN AGAINST A BASE MODEL CORVETTE?

  • @microminiskirt HEY, CHALLENGERS DON'T GO AGAINST VETTES.OBVIOUSLY, CHALLENGERS WILL LOSE BUT PIT THE VETTE AGAINST THE VIPER AND IT SHOULD BE A MATCH.

  • having a 6 speed would also help the mileage,

  • @whiteandnerdytuba not really b/c the auto has cylinder deactivation that lets it run on 4c when all 8 arnt needed, the 6 spd does not have this feature

  • Lost interest when he said automatic transmission....

  • cant wait till my 15th birthday:D

    this car looks amazing(:

  • so a 45k srt 392 cant even beat a 35k mustang gt than why buy it go spend 45k on a even stronger mustang gt500 seems like a better idea

  • @hxion it will beat the mustang gt but will lose from the gt 500 becouse the gt 500 is supercharged. and i thought it was lighter to but i'm not sure about that.

  • @369NICK963 Where did you get that info? A GT would beat this so that mean a GT500 would kill it. Just stick to comparing this to the camaro.

  • @lsowner10 The Camaro is the best handling out of the 3.

  • Offroad!?? No... Don't do that!!!!!

  • i want 3

  • Awesome...for 2013 I hope they either supercharge it or cram something ridiculous under the hood like a Gen 3 crate Hemi 392/426....

  • I think the car is a little too big

  • If you would go back in time in 1968 and tell the Big three that in 2012 you'll have Muscle Cars with PADDLE SHIFTERS!!!

  • 5 speed auto ? they still in 2012 dont have a 6 speed auto FAIL.

  • @coolvideo28 amen

  • @coolvideo28 They are switching to the same 8-speed auto found in the BMW 7-series and Audi A8. Unfortunately, the German company that makes it is having trouble meeting demand. The 8-speed is therefore only available in the volume-seller V6 Charger until more gearboxes are built.

  • @marshknute Wow that sounds Awsome! hopefuly they will have the 8 speed in the 2013's then.

  • @coolvideo28 i there is a 8 speed coming soon

  • hey steve, their has been rumors for a challenger srt 10. do you know any information about this?

  • Depends on age

  • how much is insurance on this

  • I'm not gonna buy it.I'm not gonna buy it.I'm not gonna buy it.God it looks so damn good though.

  • hey steve, dont u think the car will have a faster 0-60 if u roll into it instead of getting all that wheel spin

  • @sergsrt8 Ah, but it doesn't look as good on-camera ;-)

  • @sergsrt8 roll out is cheating and you cannot literally roll onto (thru) 0 and do a 0 to 60

  • dodge is making a big mistake with those full body stripes. they look horrid, and too much like a mustang stripe. plus the stripes take away from the retro look.

  • this is my dream car it will be mine one day

  • Love this car. Just so American. Sure its not as fast as the Mustang and Camaro but I think its in its own category. Its a cruiser with some brusier. It would be nice if its not as heavy but hey, gotta love that big muscle car and HEMI sound! Yummy!!!!! Good review!

  • i love the offroad parts. dukes!

  • great review! dodge challenger the best! :D

  • That is one good lookin' automobile!

  • The 3 People who disliked this bought Fords.

  • Steve, are you going to do a review of the 2012 V6 Challenger? For many people it's a more practical proposition than the more powerful versions. It'd be good to get your opinions on the new Pentastar and whether Challenger is still a nice drive with the V6.

  • @scarlebloke Not anytime soon. Sorry. Winter weather means more SUVs on DT soon.

  • @stevehammes Ok mate - that's understandable:)

  • @stevehammes yeah i want a 2011/12 v6 challenger if at all possible

  • @stevehammes So why would you pick this car? It has a bigger engine, and is still slower than the mustang, definitely not as nimble either. On top of that, even with its self downgrading engine, it's mpg is still not on par with the mustang. Plus, it is way too close to the gt500 in price for such lacking performance. All in all, it looks like another well designed failure from a rather disappointing car company. It does get terrific style points though.

  • @scarlebloke you want a review for a V6 challenger...are you serious? first go get a real muscle car (with a hemi). If your looking for pratical...go get a honda civic!!!

  • Why are you flooring it on the grass and gravel, what is this an off road vehicle? the only time I even hear the exhaust is when you take this thing on the grass. In fact why is it even on the grass in the first place.

  • @jberta323 Ah! I see you're only 21 years old. Apparently too young to have ever seen an episode of Dukes of Hazzard. Check it out in reruns sometime and then you'll get it.

  • @stevehammes I am with @jberta323 the car belongs on the road eating the pavement to pretty to ruin

  • @stevehammes please do a jeep grand cherokee srt8

  • Your reviews are some of the best on here, very informative, well put together. Thank you!

  • Now that's a proper review THANK YOU .

  • @Mechanamer16 it's not to be compared to the horrible design of the new Camaro or boring Mustang. It's a one and only of a class of true MUSCLE powered, true to its heritage, true homage to the original Chally. It's way more fun to drive, has more practical room for 5 adults, doubles as a weekend cruiser and then unleashes havoc as a road worthy warrior. The trunk is huge too! Mustangs are a dime a dozen, and that awfully designed, disappointing Camaro will fade like its last crappy older

  • @D3X1M3R I agree and whatever the Challenger SRT-8 gives up in performance it makes up in roomy size, comfortable ride over the competition.

  • do a camaro zl1 !!!!

  • it dosnet compare to the mustang or Camaro but still a Awesome Fast CAR

BUT since they made the charger like this then yeah they have compotion

  • Will any Manual transmition Challenger come out at any time???

An automatic is not a classic 100% :(

  • we went to interstate dodge test drove the 392 round the block met up wit my friends 6.1 still all stock!! and it beat the 6.4 every time WTF!!!

  • @BTTheus77 learn how to drive.

  • @Zach4046792 i was in the 6.1 392's cant drag

  • @BTTheus77 my bad, it sounded like you were in the 392... it was probably automatic... Cause I've driven a 392 6spd and it hauls ass, smoked a new 5.0 mustang redlight race.

  • @Zach4046792 yea the sticks can move!!!

  • @BTTheus77 they shouldnt even make muscle automatic sports cars (SS,5.0,SRT8). The V6 versions can be auto cause those are for women.

  • Actually the GrandDaddy of all challengers would be the 1969 challenger :)

  • The white and sliver combo looks absolutely fantastic! Amazing looking, sounding car.

  • This car looks nice and all, but a bit too lumbering for my taste. The big torque numbers are indeed impressive for that motor, though. Alas, I like the Mustang Boss concept MUCH better! I think they have a good formula going, as they did back in '69 and '70. Though, it WOULD be cool to see a "Big Boss" Mustang version come back just to play the displacement game that GM and Chrysler still play to show Ford can do it if so desired. But Ford doesn't seem excited about cylinder disabling tech.

  • Do u think they will redo the instrument panel for 2013

  • I think this is the first review that I really enjoyed seeing, not just and endless rubber burning movie.

    Thank you!

  • They should of tweaked the 6.1L for better fuel economy... And put that engine in the R/T`s and 300C`s... Maybe pull a Shelby GT500 and supercharge it

  • The 2 People who Dislike This Bought a Camaro

  • @JVPRCNG Z06 blows this piece of shit away

  • @SFBay69 I didn't know chevy made a Z06 CAMARO. Dumbass.

  • @JVPRCNG YEAH, I THOUGHT Z06'S ARE VETTES. /:|

  • I saw a "Green-with-Envy" challenger 392 on the road yesterday and, man, between the color and the sound it makes...what a fabulous car....until you look inside it. Who decided to strap the Dodge Grand Caravan interior in that muscle car? Is there any hint from Ralph Giles on actually doing some justice to the interior of the Challenger? It's a real downer for anyone considering the purchase of a new pony car.

  • Sorry but challengers are too heavy, looks the better though than the mustang and camaro. Give it 550hp like the Shelby GT500 and AWD like the Grand Cherokee SRT8 and you might have something good on your hands. Until then the challenger will remain the fat and heavy guy who can't do much but do decent in a straight line because of his weight. I'm pulling for you dodge because you keep it retro...

  • @joshuatree1001 and strangely, it runs 12.4 and kicks ass. Stop trolling Joshua, you look like an ass-clown.

  • You had it right Steve my choice is the Challenger too. So I'm buying one just because I watched this review.

  • very well informed review

  • "392Drags" on YOUTUBE; these cars are running from 12.4-12.9; amazing

  • I saw SRT8 parked in front on Claridges in London (its a very posh hotel for those who dont know) It was parked amongst Ferraris, Lambos and other super cars. Man, SRT was NOT lacking behind to drag attention. My God that is bloody pretty car. Damn!!! People were actually more interested in Challenger than in other - pony cars are VERY rare in Europe. Hence insurance costs an arm and a leg.

  • Dodge is really falling behind in these new "muscle car" wars going on. As a fan of the old school Challenger and Charger, I hope they improve soon, maybe find a way to lower cost on Viper tech and dump it in. The Camaro and Mustang are already fighting on Nurburgring performance while these remain stereotyped as "boat". Dodge should make a limited run high performance muscle car that can compete... how about the SUPER BEE??? :D

  • I Love it with the white color >>>>>...and also the black color ^__^

  • My goodness the Challenger is such a beautiful car.

  • I saw a girl drive a Dodge Challenger yesterday. It might have been the sexiest thing I've ever seen.

  • Steve, Do you think one day 15 years from now when sitting in traffic, you'll chuckle at the SRT-8 badge? Just like "ECO", someday soon they wont have to write SRT-8 on the deck-lid, it'll just be in there!!

  • You gotta pay to play. That's a lot of dough.

  • Good point about the interior, for $50,000 the interior should reflect that especially in 2012.

  • Wow, $50,000 for a Dodge is a lot. But there is no denying this is a lot of performance for the dollar. I think for $50,000 I would be looking into a corvette.

  • Off roading in a Challenger? Something you don't see every day. Way to go Steve!

  • wait, so the 6.1L was changed to a 6.4L but still has the same amount of power?? huh? is it at least any bit more economical? does it handle the cars curb weight better? such a huge displacement. I still love this car, but even though paddle shifters are the new thing, i wouldn't want it on my muscle car. its just not the same.

  • @avx7 The 6.1 L has 425 hp, while the 6.4 L has 470 hp.

  • sooooooooo a great car!!!! I <3 challenger!

  • @TheTwincitykid Get it's twin brother the Ford Fusion. Its due for a remodel next year and It's launch date is around july of 2012. I work at the plant where it's built.

  • I am so glad that you did this review. Thanks steve

  • any thing about se 2012 ?

  • OMG! I LOVE IT!!!!!!

  • Just wait till you drive a mustang your opinion will change in a heartbeat. Also you will be very lucky if you get a chance to drive a boss 302. I own one and its the best car I have ever had.

  • the driving on every review just seems so reckless. For being a car guy I would never mistreat a great muscle car like shown in this video.

  • I think marking the fuel door with the word "FUEL" is a bit redundant.

  • @chimaeraSPK It was on the old 1970's one

  • Steve, Wer're jealous. You got to drive a couple supercars... what's next?

  • Fanstastic review! One thing I do know is that I prefer the Camaro LEAST out of the 3 cars.

  • Thank you!! Ive been waiting for a new(er) Dodge Challenger review. Thanks Steve..

  • do 2012 jaguar xj

  • Damn Steve...lots of reviews this week! I like this car. Nothing like pure American muscle.

  • @TheTwincitykid I've got a MAZDA6 review on here from a year or 2 ago. Sadly, it looks like the MAZDA6 isn't long for this world.

  • Well done on the review, but if I wanted a muscle car, I would go for the mustang boss. Any comments on that, Steve?

  • @SomeCrazyFellow Yes. I wish Ford would give ME one!! So until I drive it, what can I really say? I haven't driven a single Mustang this year...are you listening Ford??? ;-)

  • @stevehammes - steve you wanna switch lives for a little while, cus the fire department don't pay me and my 03 explorer is slowly dieing

  • @SomeCrazyFellow the hell with mustang

  • @SomeCrazyFellow I would steer away from the Boss for now. It still has the horrible Chinese transmission, and if you try to swap the Tremec from the Shelby, Ford will most likely void your warranty.

  • @SomeCrazyFellow

Mustang is a Pony/Sports Car, Not a Muscle Car (Aswell as the Camaro). It dosen't have the look or feel of a Muscle Car should have. The Challenger and Charger has all the characteristics and qualities the original Muscle Cars had back in the 60's and 70's. The Mustang is a nice car, but not a Muscle car, Plus a Muscle Car sips gas like its going out of style, The Mustang GT dosen't sip up as like the Challenger and Charger does.

  • Off roading in a sports car cool

  • best challenger yet even tho im not a fan of any of dodges products its steps in the right direction. 8cyl. de-activation is kinda pointless in my mind because of what customers looking at the vehicle would probly be a turn off. Same with the paddles it just doesnt suit the car. as for suspension upgrade its a good step towards safety and big bonus for handling. Interior is still hateful tho better value in the other 2 2wd monsters in my opinion.

  • I think the R/T is the best value. I can't get past the instrument cluster. I prefer a black face with white numbers with a little smaller diameter. Not staggered

  • Great review Steve. I'm liking what Dodge is doing with these muscle cars.

  • @FXSwissTrader Me, too!

  • Steve Jobs outfit? Nice tribute.

  • @vothry Ha, ha! I guess you're right!

  • i'm no fan of american cars but your review is perfect as always !

    enjoying it everytime

    greetz from germany

  • @parrishwl Thanks. How would this car be greeted over there?

  • @stevehammes

the lower price compared to our V8 Models like AMGs could be working here

i guess handling/weight issues (and the cheaper looking interior) of your muscle/pony cars were

some of the reasons germans are not so intrested in these sector. but thats only my personal opinion...

sry for the mistakes, my english sucks :)

  • @parrishwl Actually your English is better than 90% of the Americans who post here! Thanks for the info.
