Army basic is a complete joke. Things don't get rougher until you enter Infantry school and much harder if you opt for a Ranger/Delta route. But, this kid is probably doing specialist pilot anyways. You have to understand women, computer engineers--people who are going to have office jobs--go through basic, too; they're not going to require you be an olympian.
