The fact that chuck says "chance at $1500 in the Sprint" means it predates the All American Scrabble tournament(9/22/86 debuted) and Bonus Sprint(12/29/86 debuted after the tourney ended)
I think it's from between September 2, 1985-September 19, 1986. They retired the infamous spelling format on 9/2/85 and went to the format with the bonus sprint(two crossword games and two sprints a day) starting on the 9/22/86 episode.
Well, if you watch the last few seconds of this video, he says "$1,500", which is how much the Sprint round was worth at the time. When the structure of the game changed, it was now $1,000.
Also, look at the backdrop behind Chuck. It has pink spots on it. That's a dead giveaway that this is before the inclusion of the Bonus Sprint.

It's somewhere between late 1984 and September 1986. They didn't have a teen week until Xmas 1984 IIRC.

Wait, I thought that was blue spots in the backdrop? And I noticed how drastically darker that pink backdrop has really gotten.
The other giveaway was those flashing blue and pink tiles on the middle of the floor (where the audience pit would later be added) on the set.

@megamanj2004X I wondered if this episode of scrabble was the one with lights flashing on the SCRABBLE sign
