In any other field, a masters would get you to the top in a hurry. In law enforcement, nothing but experience and a good lot of ass kissing will get you to the top. I have a bachelor's in criminal justice that was earned through the police academy and the corrections academy plus a few incentive courses. It's all I'll ever need.
