  • When reading these comments quite many seem to think that Gil Ofarim is Esther's son as well. That always makes me think that if Avi & Esterke would have had a child together...he/she would without any question be the most good looking person in the whole world :) Seriously, this couple was so stunning! ♥♥♥

  • Esther Ofarim's voice cuts like a knife!!!!!! She is so fantastic in every way. And he is congenial. Best singing pair ever in Germany! And they have such a wonderful son. But this is their song!

  • huuuuuuh ok i watch it since 4h i love the way she moves and her voice <3<3<3 amazing

But..................

  • I Had the pleasher to dance with her in 1967 in Hamburg in top ten disco

  • Nicht meine Richtung, aber Geschmackssache.

  • lsd flashbacks..!

  • traunhaftes Lied

  • Was für eine Stimme! Und sehr schöne 2.Stimme von Abi.

  • This is the first time Ihave seen this video and it reminds me of Cindrella Rockefela, in that Esther has such a fabulous voice. I hope she still has today!!

  • Very beautiful indeed !

  • for such a little lady, her voice sure packs a lovely punch

  • awesome.

  • love this song...Voco, a famous fm dj in San Francisco in the sixties used to play this...beautiful song then and it still knocks me out some thirty odd years later..

  • She is the dream of my childhood. How she sings, as she moves - incredibly.

  • Absolutely great!

  • Fa ntastic. Memory

  • this guy cant sing!

  • ist doch immer wieder geil

  • I like old Ofarim abba

  • Emorej Have not heard this since 1969 Wow . She is so beautiful!

  • Very good memories - I feel no near to this woman...

  • She's soooo pretty in this video. She sings so beautifully.

  • @cathkinghost ....she does have amazing eyes...what a beautiful woman..I'm just amazed. I remember them from years ago..don't know how I found this vid..but I noticed that I can't take my eyes off of her..I barely glance at Abi..she's a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice.

  • She is from Israel !

  • I like this moves of Esther in this typical 60s Style.

  • Who needs Abi? She is the genious!

She is surely beautifull, but itvis her voice which counts.

Why do I not see a version of the Bee Gees?

  • Where have you been. Type in "In the morning Bee Gees". You should be able to see it. Or type in "Melody Movie In the morning. BTW, Esther has a strong and beautiful voice. Abi can't carry a note.

  • Asalam aleik ----wow----- ;) all best incha`llah,.....Are separate as a copia..... incha`llah still alife.salam

  • This song is balm for the soul.

  • Another great Bee Gees song, its no wonder they are the songwiters of the modern era.

  • When I was stationed in Bremerhaven, Germany,

in 1967-1968, Esther and Abi were very popular.

    She had some great pipes.

  • This is fantastic. But does anyone else think there's some technician crawling about on the floor at 2:05 onwards doing something with a cable or whatever which makes Esther hold her dress up with her left hand so he can carry on with his task, and then she smiles at him at 2:17 when he manages to do whatever it was?

  • I wondered about that too. But one cannot see what is going on there. The only chance is, to ask Esther.

  • God knows I'd love to. Isn't she great?

  • Yes, she is spectacular. Like angels singing and playing.

  • Esther has the most beautiful eyes in the entire universe

  • That's really true. This is the most beautiful song from the most beautiful woman in the universe.

  • Esther Ofarim has a beautiful voice.

  • This is a great version. I think this is the best song the Bee Gees ever wrote ( "To Love Somebody" is also great). There's is also a wonderful recording of "In The Morning" by Jennifer Warnes on her 1972 album "Jennifer" - the arrangement is quite different, but also great!

  • Brilliant

  • her voice is amazing.

  • Soon im flying too the moon...

  • waaah ... waaaah ...

  • Nina Simone did this too.

  • hallo, hallo

    original von Bee Gees

  • Wonderful song!!

  • Is she Sfardi?

  • Yes. see "Esther Ofarim interview with subtitles"

  • Esther should have sung solo with that bell-like voice of hers, good that she eventually did. I always get the urge to push Abi off the stage and let her get on with it! He is so superfluous.

  • Written by Barry Gibb at the age of 14, thats what I call genius, Sinatra once said" Great singers are two a penny, great songwriters are a rarity" Amen Bee Gees

  • Mein Schatzele liebt dieses Lied. Und ich lieb mein Schatzele. Für Werner H. aus Heilbronn

  • John Holts version is by far the best version of this song in my personal opinion, search it on youtube and im sure you will find his live performance of it

  • Well, I checked out John Holts's version, and you have to be kidding that his is better than this version. I realize hearing is in the ears of the beholder, but he's got no chance. And besides, he doesn't look near as good as Esther (I guess it depends on what sex you are.......or maybe not:-) )

  • The BeeGees version is the best among all. Hey, they wrote it.

  • Musikalität, Ausstrahlung, Können und Schönheit! Wer hat in der Zeit Schöneres geboten!?

  • Wow!That's Gil's father in the olden days. Now i see where Gil has his genes from ;). HOT!

  • Beautiful song and duet!!

  • unvergessene musik...

  • one song for ever, thanks

  • I try to watch this video at least once a day. It's great!. Esther does a great version of "Motherless Child" also on YouTube.

  • Wonderful, marvellous! Thanks for sharing

  • Esther Ofarim had (has?) a tremendously powerful voice -I saw them live in the late sixties and her voice almost shattered glass. And this was a great Barry Gibb song, timeless.

  • such joy in finding sooooo many videos of Esther and Abbie after all these years. I fell in love with them while a soldier in Germany in the mid 60s. You could not go into any bar for three years without hearing this song and more. Their performance at the Berlin extravaganza for the start of color TV in Europe...was soooo wonderful...wish someone would find that performance. Anyone have an address for Esther? Jerry Long. Arl. Va

  • I wished I could explain how deep this goes into my very center of memories. Flashes of christmas, parties of the adults, easter, kindergarten times-I was SO small as the Sixties where great!

My Mama's dead now but I still have her records and heard all through my whole life this songs. Thanks to the Ofarims, to Eytan and to everyone who was at my side.

  • I so understand....the lst time I heard this song I melted in my chair at a local bar...you could not go into any bar in Germany in the mid 60s without hearing it. I have loved them every since. This song and THIS IS MY SONG....burn deep in me Jerry Long

  • She's gorgeous. She looks Sfardi, lovely voice

  • Wow , this is really psychedelic!

  • her voice is stronger than his still good though.

  • GREAT VOICE SHE HAS SO STRONG!

  • Hrmm - Esther is fab as always on this, but Abi is completely out of tune - their studio recording of this is much better. I love the Lulu version - but there's something about the natural pathos is Esther's voice that just gets me. Normally Abi was much better than this.

  • Adrenalin probably.

  • super video

  • This is great!! I would love to hear it with Abi not singing. Not meant as a negative to Abi but Esther's singing is so good I would like to hear here alone.

  • Does he sing ;)) ?Don´t think so,he had/has no good voice

  • but for all its worth, i do believe she has great enchanting eyes. and she does have a very powerful voice! it's just that there's a CERTAIN way this song has to be sung...

  • No need to apologise. It's just your opinion and I agree with you. I like the Bee Gees version and Lulu's better! It comes across more natural to me. But anyway this is a great song imo.

  • I've never heard the Bee Gees version of this beautiful, beautiful composition. Where can I hear it? Does anyone have a link or something like that? \I' would greatly appreciate any help.

  • just search for it here on youtube i.e. morning of my life bee gees and you'll find it.

  • Thanks ... lol. That was easy! I guess I thought I'd seen all the BeeGees material here.

I must say, though, that I like Esther and Abi's version best. Thanks again.

  • Well... I think you're Nuts !!

  • @zzzmarjmd2 I just think people have to *get* the feel of how she sings, something behind it - rather than a straightforward listening

  • Those eyes! She could give Nefertiti a run for her money! Great song and great singer. Esther has such a strong and smooth voice.

Bitte Eure

Meinung auf meinen youtube account schreiben.

    Axel Klausmeyer

  • You can see how much joy Esther gets from singing in this video. I love it!

  • every time i see and hear Esther I am in love again hahahah, like many years ago , were is she? my poor hart arggg haha byebye esther

  • You can find out here - esther-ofarim dot de

  • where she is ? she lives in hamburg - saw her 3 years ago at the st. pauli theater ( hamburg ), when she was giving a "Liederabend ". her voice an personality - still stunnig.

  • Barry Gibb wrote this song at the age of 14, pure genius, this is a lovely version too, thats the thing about the Gibbs, they wrote so many stunning songs, they are the finest songwriters of the modern era

  • Morning of my life was NOT written for the Ofarims! There is an older BG recording [to be found on -Germany only- double album Inception/Nostalgia] from Australia. Nice simple version! There are of course a number of live versions through the years. And there is also an awful [I think!] version on the Melody Fair soundtrack album re-recorded by the BeeGees ...

  • She was absolutely beautiful, and a tremendous voice.

  • Beautiful song, nice harmonies, never knew The Bee Gees wrote it until now!

  • This is a dream for me to finally see them performing (albeit on video). I have one live album (1969) my parents used to play when I was small and Ester's voice has haunted me ever since. Thankyou.

  • Esther, is one hot Israeli woman, Obi is a looker too! I bet they had good looking kids! I wonder if they still perform today, weren't they married and later divorces? I don't think Obi, could have made it in the music business without Esther, not only on his good looks. She was the talent (duh!)

  • pretty....big eyes

  • Great and beautiful voice, where is she now?,

  • i met her in munich a year ago at a friends house..she doesn't look as pretty anymore but stillg great voice..

  • You actually met Esther?? Wow. What was she like?

  • esther lives in hamburg and she is still - or better say again - giving concerts - but very rare and rather for a small audience. saw her in hamburg 2 years ago at the st.pauli theather at a " liederabend " She is still fascinating and her voice ist still " wunderbar " . there is a new cd out from these kind of concerts called " liederabend " .

cd : esther ofarim - back on stage

  • Thank you so much for this rare video.

Great performance of a typical Gibb song. There are not many to write such brilliant simple melodies and lyrics. Compare this to all these songs from today. Will you remember them like this song in 40 years?

    Love the Bee Gees.

  • Interesting that you'd say that - I had the album that this was on 40 years ago and I've never forgotten her singing this! What a joy to see that someone had posted this video.

I played it today for someone who had only heard the Bee Gees version and he loved it too (and he is a Bee Gees purist - he only likes their versions of their songs).

  • Esther, The Voice and look at her eyes....

  • Fantastic live performance of a great song.

  • yes, I love this song so much...I remember a reggae version of it in the 70's (John Holt??)

this is a nice version though...such a beautiful looking couple

  • first time ive heard it by esther and abi, i have it by beegees but this version is just as good

  • this song is soo beautiful...

  • beautiful song, written by barry gibb for the ofarims.

saw esther in concert 3 years ago in hamburg, where she lives now - still a beautiful voice

  • Esther - the VOICE!

  • and her beatiful eyes....

  • That's it! Leider, leider tempi passati ...

  • Yes agree, and she stills has a terrific voice

  • That drummer was so completely sacked!
