  • yeah its a nasty little round. wound cavities the same as wounds from vietnam from M-16s

  • That's one bad ass gun

  • Prob the worst anticipation I have ever seen! That will definitely drop your rounds! Practice with snap caps until you dont dip the gun like that! fill up a mag with a few live rounds and a few snap caps sporadically. That way you dont know when the snap cap is coming or the real round! Badass gun by the way!

  • Bad aim :(

  • Thing sounds like thunder when it's fired. :D

  • so mutch recoil??

  • work on that flinch :P

    we all went through it

  • the thing about the 5.7mm ammo is that the street legal ammo that normal Johny Q Civilian can purchase is proven to be incapable of piercing armor by the federal governement. The armor piercing rounds are Class III ammo. AP rounds have been illegal to sell to civilians since 1986.

Get your facts straight people. The legal ss197sr and 195lf rounds that you can purchase have no more (and possibly less) propensity for penetrating armor than a 9mm fmj.

  • rastafarian is right. it was designed specificly to penetrate armor. 35 layers of kevlar to be exact. You need threat level III armor to stop this round. which street cops dont cant wear. Because it isnt concealable.

  • You can see him flinch when the safety was on.

  • Where are you? Im in KY which has pretty cool gun laws but no indoor range around here will allow me to shoot my Five-seveN. They all claim it could penetrate through the barriers and cause damage. I even use the blue tip frag rounds. One thing it shows is that the Five-seveN without a doubt it one bad ass powerful gun! I talked to a cop who did some tests on it and a FMJ went through 3 vests, he claims Five-seveN's have 100% kill rate at center mass and I believe him.

  • No gun has a 100% kill rate, don't believe him.

  • He is not talking about 100% kill rate from every round fired, he was talking about 5.7s used by police in the area. The 5.7 round penetrates armor, hits with the power of a 9mm and then starts flipping violently created a very devastating wound cavity. Of course no gun has 100% kill rate but the 5.7 round is a powerful round no matter what anyone else claims.

  • your a fool this gun doesnt have the knockdown power of a 9 mm or a 40 S&W round. IT does however have superior velocity and will penetrate class 1 and 2 armor witht he proper ammo.. however i still prefer a $) S&W round to most anything for concealed carry higher velocity then a 45 and better knockdown power then a 9 MM

  • @pjicleanair420 I disagree with you. Knockdown power is almost equal to kinetic energy. For example 9x19 does 518 J kinetic energy and 5.7x28 does 534 J.

Because of 5.7x28 bullet diameter, it penetrates flesh more easily them 9x19, thus making a bit less stopping power, but makes bigger "hydroshock" on tissues.

There are 5.7x28 bullet specially made to be manstopper that fragmentize and expand as hollow point for harder penetration.

  • your joules are based on what ammo?? ammo makes the diff not the chambering, i dont think the fn 5.7 produces anywhere near that

  • @pjicleanair420 Sorry if you don't know how to calculate kinetic energy (I gues in US you can finish school without knowing it). Here is formula KE = 1/2 (M * (V * V)), M is mass in kilograms and V is speed in meters per second. Try doing your own calculations and then argue about numbers.

  • again, weight of the projectile has to figure in there somewhere and how well it transfers the energy, im not arguing im just trying to tell you soem, the fn 5.7 x 28 handgun produces a maximum of 313 fpe out the muzzle, and that is on the ss191 and the 22190 the sporting rounds that only u can buy(hp included produce o maximum of 242 fpe out the muzzle, so explain your math

  • @pjicleanair420 What unit is fpe? Well I did calculation again just for you. SS190 muzzle velocity is 650 m/s and mass (weight) is 2.0 grams. And for example 9x19 FMJ shooting from glock 17 muzzle velocity is 360 m/s and mass is 7.45 g.

So SS190 kinetic energy would be (1/2(0.002*650*650) = 426) and 9x19 is (1/2(0.00745*360* 360) = 483). So this time energy is bigger for 9x19 flying out of glock 17 (first time i just took both bullets data without knowing from what gun it was shot).

  • @pjicleanair420 Also just a data point. 5.7x28 has better aerodynamics then 9mm, so it would keep it's speed for longer distance thus keeping it's energy for longer distance.

  • i agree with that

  • cops are for the most part secuirty guards who carry a firearm
