This game is so awesome, that they even put awesome cinematics into the main menu screen. Not to mention great soundtrack, and hilarious and mindless slaughter that never ceases to make me smile...

Also, I thought the original objective was to secure the Titan Invictus and the "prototype weapon" from the orks. Which leads to opening a warp gate, then you save the entire planet...

I'm glad they didn't go through it all, to be honest. I'm a 40k fanatic, and this game really does feel like it was aimed at people ike me. It doesn't spend hours with needless explanations (25 years worth of it.), it expects you to at least have a basic grasp of the 40k universe.

If you want to learn more, then the litterature is out there for you to read more with the rulebook/codecies/black library.

AMAZING GAME if constant, senseless violence if your thing. Now, I don't have much knowledge of 40k, but I've heard that it's extremely accurate towards the 40k universe.

I just love using the thunder hammer like a WoW paladin...

Yet both of those games were inspired by the 40k lore since Warhammer 40k was invented in the 80's. So pretty much all games that have super human space marines fighting aliens are actully Warhammer 40k clones. Gears Of war has a cover system, this game dosn't instead it makes you dive right into the action and not crouch under a chest high wall and wait for someone to peak out. Halo ? Space marine dosn't have vehicles nor can you jump 3m into the air(without a jetpack of course)

4:00 Wow I'm in love. Seriously that really annoys me when game developers use that word incorrectly, just because it sounds "cool". The people developing this game have said that the game's online modes are "visceral", but then they go on to say that they require careful planning and tactics.

Something being visceral means that it is driven by feeling. Instinct even. It is NOT being driven by intellect. A game can't be both visceral AND tactical, because those two things are polar opposites.

11 out of 13 points, not bad. personal score though because of my nerdy obsession with the tabletop would be around 9.8/10. the only thing that i found wrong with the game is that i would get stuck on 5 cm tall obstructions which would more often than not get me killed. other than that, it's all good. what u guys think?

@Davilliam I think I agree with you, not just because I share your nerdy obsession, but also because it's a really good game. I have an army of bad moons, and it feels odd sometimes gunning down yellow clad orks. Deep down, I want them to kill me and win:D

Since when did a game that only have 8 hours worth of singleplayer campaign and limited multiplayer features deserve 8/10 ? Unless this is not a full priced game. Also: Having nicely integrated mouse/keyboard controls for a PC game is not a bonus. It's what you should expect any PC game to have. Direct console conversions should be banned by serious PC games.

I'm a bit peeved that he didn't mention the audio logs - they bring the world to life more than I've ever seen in the whole 40k franchise - civilians and human guardsmen bring so much depth to the game that it's protagonists admittedly lack. But then I haven't finished the game yet, so maybe there's some more character development down the road :).

@MrThedesmok Actually it is, you see Gears of War copied/drew from Warhammer 40k (like Halo and Starcraft) the guys at Relic saw how well Gears of War did, so they decided to make an actual 3rd person shooter Warhammer 40k game, and that is why the world has Space Marine.

Lawrence, I wished I worked for Machinima, because I could actually get you to like this game even more. I have read over 100 of the Warhammer 40k books with out ever playing the table top game, coming out with just about more knowledge than those who do. But I feel it makes the most sense for you to do this review since you dont have so much info that you would approach the game like almost everyone else. This is the one of the most professional reviews of this game, and for that I thank you
