I know how you feel...I sold my beautiful cremello gelding a couple years back. I sold him because he just wasn't fast enough to compete in my class of barrel racing. I regret every moment of it now...and the worst part is, the owner's don't want to sell him back. I can't believe i was so selfish...

i feel your pain my horse and i barreled race. one day she took a sharp turn and fell. but ....... when she fell she hit the ground hard and broke her leg.i fell of and she rolled over me. she got put down the next day. i miss my baby. RIP sophie

He were something special, the girl who had him before me beated him and stuff, so he was kinda scared. But I got the key to his heart and I found a very wise and wonderful horse in him. It took almost a year before he could trust me completley. He became a different horse. I love him so much..
I have lost several horses to, bo- 31yrs old september 25,2009 and her half sister empi- 33yrs old march 25, 2011. they were in our family since they were born, and i grew up with those 2 girlys, i now have brandy who is 4 and clara a donkey who is 9, they are one reason why i wake up every morning.

It happened to me once, I had a pony on permanant loan, For 3 years i had loved and looked after him. The best 3 years of my life. The next thing i new, they had text my mum saying their going to pick him up. They sold him to a home, and now. He is dead ;(
It makes you think, when a animals dies or gets sold or runs away, it makes your whole life a misery i know when my cat and rabbits did/ranaway it was heart breaking :(

What a nice tribute..... I had to put down my sweet Arabian last month. She looked a lot like your Sophie. After 15 years and being a daily part of the family, she leaves a big void with her passing.

If you let go of things dear to you it's your own fault. I'm sure there is a good reason why she's not saying, why she actually gave Sophie away. "I was more into ponies" is no reason to give a horse away. And if it is, she's a damn stupid girl.

keeping horses isnt as simple as that, if you dont have the money you dont have a choice! I know plenty of people who have ben in that situation, myself included, and there's nothing you can do about it!
The horse in question, was and still is (officially) mine, she was never owned by jasmine, she was loaned, the story i got was that her mothers cancer went into remission, hence why a new home was found! She is now owned (almost) by someone whom i trust, she is kind to her, treats her well and keeps a close eye on her weight. Jasmine the arrangement was between your mother and myself, not you and the loan was for max of 3 years!,
i couldnt ask for a better home than the one she has now. She will not be coming back to you im afraid, her new owner and I are in the middle of arranging payments, so please stop harping on about something that was never yours in the first place!

Thats is so sad even though i have never lost a horse i have lost other pets and i know how bad it feels. And i hope to never have to feel what its like to loose a horse in a bad way. But at least you get to get her back in a year so don't worry you will be seeing her in no time! =)

The horse in question, was and still is (officially) mine, she was never owned by jasmine, she was loaned, the story i got was that her mothers cancer went into remission, hence why a new home was found! She is now owned (almost) by someone whom i trust, she is kind to her, treats her well and keeps a close eye on her weight. Jasmine the arrangement was between your mother and myself, not you and the loan was for max of 3 years!,
