  • The guy doing the interview should've really prepared his questions, and asked less questions where NO CEO would answer for their company, nor can't. Wish we could get more amazing questions.

  • this guy seems like he doesn't know who he's talking to.

  • I need car to go to my work place so I remit 60-70 euros every month! :(

  • This was June 2005, Apple traded at 38.25, 6 years later 10 times that. nice.

6 months later Disney bought Pixar for 7.6 billion. nice.

  • Apple stock was only $ 38 in 2006.. tdy it is around $ 350..guess what a huge profit someone who followed AAPL from that time would have made..

  • I won't miss steve

  • No wonder I've never seen him on the news; he never tells you anything.

  • I was shocked to see how long Apple supported old g4 and g5 systems... Picked up a emac for $20.. running 10.4, reason, Ableton, garageband... Runs like a top.

  • When Steve Jobs took over in 1996, apple stock was under $10. It is now over $400. That's about 4000% increase in stock price. Suck on that Steve Jobs haters.

  • Wow how sad, he looked so healthy there, RIP Steve, we'll miss u

  • @thevinceberry I think I miss the $54 a barrel oil more.

  • @thevinceberry man. In Italy unleaded fuel it's now 1.74 euro for ONE litre! ( 1 litre = 0.26 gallons! ) . It's kind of disgusting....

  • @sonnyx88 ouch..I know european oil is expensive but wow...I did some conversion 1.74 euro is equal to 8.58 dollar per gallon and that is close to 3 times what I m paying right now..Ya don't drive alot do you?

  • He's using FaceTime...

  • did he say "thanks for having us" at the end?!

  • Even though i dont like Apple, i prefer Microsoft. But Steve Jobs is a great man, he forced Microsoft to improve. Microsoft without competition = sleeping bear. And it looks like that he is in a very bad shape because of the cancer, if you watch this video and videos of him today.

  • you're gonna have alot more to talk about in a year than intel macs lol

  • Out of stock? Just like apps that go out of stock on the app market? (Ran out of bytes, maybe?) Or maybe collusion with distributors like, oh, I dunno, Best Buy, holding back product to make it look like they're sold out? (Google these things, it's no secret)

  • he is healthy here...

  • Notice how Steve Jobs doesn't blink like the whole time....

  • @maccollectorZ

he blinks a lot he just looks away from the camera when he does

  • He looked healthy. He's so skinny now =/

  • What year is this?

  • Why Steve Jobs always wears the same clothes?

  • @ToNyPaRkErgospurs He can afford any new clothes

  • @JAEGERSTER

Then why doesnt he buy himself more cloths?

  • he says "t..t.ttt...tt.." at 1:03 ha

  • @Lil8Kirill f u steve jobs is a beast he has cancer and still look at him dont hate he has more money than youy family your desendant and every person u know combined

  • @fastbreakrocket Just because someone has money they deserve respect? I respect steve jobs, but that logic is very flawed.

  • Steve Jobs Drinking game add-on: drik every time he says: "there used to be a saying at Apple..."

  • Steve Jobs is a lot fatter than now. Not in a bad way, but he ACTUALLY looks like

    a cancer patient now.

  • He look so much more healthy here.

  • he looks so healthy.

  • yeah $38 per share.. freaking nuts dude.

  • 38 bucks a share....dam!! missed that boat!

  • he looked so much healthier and this was only 5 yrs ago

  • If you are going to wear nothing but turtlenecks get some nice turtlenecks.

  • Wish I could buy apple stock at $38 a share. Now it's almost 10x that price!

  • LOL - he wants to go with intel with exciting designs and they still have core 2 duo chips as overpriced goods - Yes they have really nice designs - but It's a computer - it's not important how pretty external looks are and the extra cost you have to pay for it. People have bought into thinking If i like the look of something I will buy it, Would you buy a a sports cars with a underpowered engine - they don;t even have 3 years warranty as standard.

  • Woah. He was fat. lol

  • They thought they were really advanced back then with the invention of iPods, and now that we watch this it seems so primitive. But in 5 to 10 years we'll be looking at the iPad and all the other things apple has to offer now (the current iPhones, Macs, etc.) as old and obsolete. You can only imagine what's to come in the future if technology continues to prosper like it has been in recent years. Maybe all those science fiction movies with robots and flying vehicles won't seem so far-fetched.

  • @eyeballz88 10yrs from now there wont be enough oil to make the chemicals & plastics which go in to these high tech gadgets.

  • What do you think about this ? - I need your feedback…(it's running on windows -it's for children protection)

    youtube.com/watch?v=48saXiJE9Mg

  • why does steve jobs always look like hes got a dick up his ass

  • I use Windows and Microsoft Products.. But always i am a big fan of Steve Jobs.. He is awesome.. He is not just a CEO he is a Creator of Future !!!!

Steve + Jony Ive is like a Handsome guy with Brain :)

  • Apple at 38 dollars.....wow, it is now at 283. Can believe it was only 4 years ago.

  • I like ppl and companies who have foresight and set the pace. apple has always done. some software works better on pc's, some better on macs. but macs have been setting the standard for others to follow.

  • Step 1) Go back in past.

Step 2) Buy Apple stock (and Google)

Step 3) Give it to grandma

    Step 4) Come back.

  • @MateiAlexandruBogdan best. comment. ever.

  • I have nothing against Mac's but they are too expensive. To me Windows 7 is a very honed piece of software. I'm glad I can purchase a $300 laptop and be fine with it. I got to say though iOS is the finest software I've ever seen. I love my iPhone!

  • mac rules ,though I am using windows.

    LOOOOOOL

  • steve jobs drinking game : drink every time he starts a sentence with "you know"

  • @funkyguyxxx Don't you mean every time he starts a sentence with "Now..."? :P

  • @funkyguyxxx Or every time he gets a liver translpant. For 1 Billion dollars they could buy AMD btu there going to whore for intel and play the chinese junk game.

  • @funkyguyxxx No you drink every time he can't tell you something.

  • @funkyguyxxx

    I died of a dead liver :(

  • @funkyguyxxx Lol i have the same problem also "what I am saying"

  • its funny since ibm blows today and apple is killing

  • I really can't understand any of these computer geeks' arguments. Just saying.

  • notice how hes always wearing black. I never seen him in any other color shirt. Not that its a problem, I was just pointing something out.

  • Thats because he's a Ninja! Or the Man from Milk Tray Im not quite sure.

  • It's funny how blindly loyal some Mac-slaves truly are. They'd all gladly line up, drop to their knees and let Steve Jobs fuck them all in the mouth while laughing at them, and they'd THANK him for it.

  • @MaximusCerberus Well if you would read my message I am not talking about RIM, so you are the one that embarrassed yourself. I am talking about Apple, Apple has beat all the other phone makers except RIM and Apple has just one device on one carrier. That say something so your spouting off is crap. Look at the numbers.. They tell the real truth. The shit you are spouting out doesn't. Well guess what Balmer runs your precious Microsoft so you should care, cause he is taking it down with him.

  • "You have to take into account that these are two totally different companies. Apple is in the game to innovate and create the best product they can. "

    - Hahahahaha!! Did they invent the MP3 Player? NOPE!!

Did they invent the Smartphone? NOPE!!!!

Did they invent the Tablet? NOPE!!!

All Apple does is put their own gimmicky spin on products created by OTHER PEOPLE, then turns around says "Hey, this is our revolutionary new product! Throw us your money!"

    Hahahaha!

  • @MaximusCerberus Revolutionized and create are too different things. They never did create them, but they revolutionized those markets when they introduced their product. The iPad's impact will yet to be seen. Who knows. No one forced people to use the iPod, the iPhone, or iTunes. They make things easier for people to use so people do. Only time will tell with Microsoft and Apple will end up but Microsoft has some serious competition ahead, not only from Apple. We will see how things play out.

  • @MaximusCerberus Apple putting their "gimmicky spin" on the products they produce is common business practice. Companies produce their own version of a certain product all the time. So try to get a better argument next time. Sorry Apple products are actually successful. You hating Apple, i'm sure, steams from somewhere and theres no more use continuing this conversation. Apple for life here and you can keep your Windows.. lol. Thanks for the amusement. Have a nice day.

  • Hmmmm, well let's see here. Microsoft ranks at #35 on 2009's Fortune 500 list. Apple is in the #70's.

Blackberries have consistently outsold iPhones by about 15 million units PER MONTH.

Mac computers accounted for 3.4% of the world's computer sales in 2008.

Doesn't seem like their so-called "revolutionary devices" are making much of a splash.

  • @MaximusCerberus Frist, Fortune 500 is based on revenue only. Of corse Microsoft will be up there. But if you compare Apples placement, they wen't up 32 spots. Microsoft only 9. The percent of change in revenues, profits, and assets all beat Microsoft's percents. The iPhone saw a 100% increase , the Mac 33% increase, 40% increase in profit and I can go on. I guess you are right, people don't Apple products.. lmao.. That why they keep breaking quarterly records.

  • @unaguy05

And the iPhone STILL gets its ass beat regularly. They've never beaten Blackberry sales........eva'

As for them going up 32 spots, that means NOTHING, considering that the higher you go, the more money you're raking in. The percentage of Apple's profit vs. Microsoft's profit is MEAGER in comparison.

Add to the fact that the iPad is going to sink like a rock with a dead body attached to it, and Apple is definitely going to PLUMMET a lot by the end of 2010.

  • @MaximusCerberus "Apple is definitely going to PLUMMET a lot by the end of 2010." Do you want to take a bet on that one? Or have you already committed suicide?

Rule number one on business results: Turnover is vanity. Profit is sanity.

And Apple just sold 2 million iPads in 2 months. It took over two YEARS to sell 2 million iPods, and 4 months to sell 2 million iPhones.

This is product that's "going to sink like a rock with a dead body attached to it" is doing rather well right now.

  • @unaguy05

As for the 33% increase in Mac sales, that doesn't mean a lot when they only managed to sell 3.4% of the world's computers in 2008.

    Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!

  • @MaximusCerberus That's 33% by one company that faces countless others that's been at it for a lot longer, I would say that's damn good. iPhone has beaten every phone maker except blackberry and it only has one phone, and that's not good? If 32 spots are nothing then don't spout off placements to me. We will see how Apple does in the Tablet market, I am sure just with their fan base Apple will be more successful than Windows. Windows has failed in tablet, the MP3, mobile markets, oh and Vista!!

  • @unaguy05

Do you know how much a 33% sales increase is on 3.4% of computer sales? That's 4.5%.

    Pfffffffft!

And WHERE are you getting your info??? Between January-April of 2009, RIM had 3 of the 5 BEST SELLING SMARTPHONES on the market!! And you're going to tell me that they only have 1 phone???

    Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahaha!! You just embarrassed yourself.

Apple will FAIL in the tablet market once everyone else brings out REAL tablets with actual cameras and full web compatibility.

  • @MaximusCerberus It's funny how Balmer rushed to show his new Tablet and rename it the "Slate" just because of the rumors Apple releasing one. Just Rumors!!! Funny how Apple has such an effect on that company and others. Why would such a company respond in a way if they didn't have anything to worry about? The big Microsoft company was scared because they know Apple knows what they are doing and they are entering a market MS has failed, again. Let Apple pick up the pieces for them... yet again.

  • @unaguy05

Nobody gives a shit about Balmer. I suggest you visit some Mac forums and see how diehard MAC users are looking at the iPad and saying..."What the fuck? I'm not buying this worthless piece of shit!"

The iPad is going to sink like a rock. Those that buy it are going to RETURN it and demand their money once they experience "This site requires Flash, your device is not compatible" error message for the thousandth time in an hour.

You can't web surf for 2 minutes without Flash.

  • @MaximusCerberus Oh and about Flash, if you would keep up technology.. A lot of sites are dumping Adobe and moving to HTML5.. Some sites have already done so. It's just a matter of time until Flash is obsolete unless they can also clean up their act. Apple knows this and it's the reason why they won't let Adobe on iPhone, iTouch or iPad. Plus it doesn't perform well so why would Apple anyways? Personally, I don't blame them.

  • Ridiculous. Good luck getting HTML5 to handle animation-based sites like Google Earth, etc.

Won't be happening.........eva! That's what Flash is there for . You should be doing your research to find out exactly what HTML5 does before you open your mouth and embarrass yourself.

  • @MaximusCerberus I don't think I am the one that hasn't. Technology is always changing.. Something that is not possible today doesn't mean that it isn't possible tomorrow or in the future. Such a narrow minded view you have. I pity you. Have a nice day.

  • Hahahahahahaha!!!

Do your research on HTML5, kiddo! HTML5 and CSS3 won't be anywhere NEAR industry standard for another DECADE, according to experts. More gracious opinions say at LEAST 6-8 years.

But hey, if YOU want to go 6 years not being able to access 70% of the web, and 75% of web-based video, then BE MY GUEST.

Everyone ELSE on planet Earth knows that you have to learn to walk, before you can run......something Steve Jobs hasn't mastered in over 30 years, which is why he keeps failing

  • You have to take into account that these are two totally different companies. Apple is in the game to innovate and create the best product they can. Microsoft is worried about mass producing and they do not think about the quality of their product, only the numbers they sell. Microsoft has a tough road ahead of them. They are loosing ground on just about every front. The slow, clumsy beast will come to it's knees and be forced to rethink or they will just become a part of history in a text book.

  • rumor has it is apple is working on their on processors. i think they are called arm. if its better than intel, id buy

  • @redspade04

I wouldn't hold your breath for a company that can barely get a decent hardware configuration to beat a company like Intel that has been in the CPU biz for decades.

  • jobs was definitely referring to the future macbook air when not hinting at the future project

  • Awesome!

    his tv interviews are rare.

  • Anyone deluding themselves into thinking that Apple is gaining more market share might want to check the latest IDN figures.

By the end of Q4 2008, Mac computer sales accounted for a measly, pathetic, scrawny little 3.7% of the market share.

They currently hold around 7% of the computer market as a whole.

And no, it's not 10%. That includes other technology like iPods and iPhones.......which, when you think about it, is ENORMOUSLY pathetic.

  • @MaximusCerberus Yes, but you're thinking about the wrong market. Market shares are calculated to include all personal computers, and Apple doesn't make budget computers that are used for business. There was another statistic taken that notes that Apple controls 91% of the market in computers over $1000. It's like comparing Ford to Ferrari. Ferrari market share is much lower, but it's still a great vehicle for those that are passionate about cars.

  • Ridiculous foolishness. PC owns in EVERY department, and EVERY price range.

Nobody can own 91% of computers over $1000, when that SAME COMPANY only managed to sell 3.4% of all computers in the year 2008 (backed up by OFFICIAL IDN business stats).

I don't know where you get your information from, but please, it's a joke. Mid-range computers are anywhere from $1000-$2000, and the bulk of those units aren't Macintosh. Simple common sense is a perfect indicator.

  • No offense but i would like to point out that Apple is singular when facing the many PC competitors thus if you were to look at a ratio point of view then Apple might not look so bad.

  • Perhaps, but their success is based 100% on iPod and iPhone sales. Any gadget they can mass-market using oversaturated candy colors and fashion gimmicks.

They've never been a contender in the computer market. They've just "been there," trying their best to top their meager efforts year after year.

And they still have a long way to go before they're going to be taken seriously as a computer provider.

  • I do agree that they have a long way to sharing the computer pie with PCs even Steve Jobs admit that PC is doing a good job at that aspect. It would be an exciting future for both platforms in time to come. As for "meager efforts year after year" Every increase is still an increase thus + their Laptop sales has been gradually increasing.

  • @goofywz

Yes, God knows why. Any company that charges $2499 for a 17" laptop with a dual-core CPU and 4GB of RAM deserves to be thrown in jail.

  • Haha...Yeah it will be noted to people "sure pays to be cool" When their hardware are Intel, Nvdia and Hitachi hardisk oh did i forget to mention the cheap Samsung DDRs...Horrible pricing but good advertising.

  • @goofywz

Apple sells to those who don't know a lot about computers.

It's a lot like a used car salesman or mechanic bullshitting you at the dealership about you need. Same principle. There will always be scam-artists and shysters like Apple, just waiting to take advantage of people who aren't keen on a particular subject.

Meanwhile, the buyers have no idea what sort of clunky-ass hardware they shelled out that much money for. I find it pathetic, and that's why I'm anti-Apple everything.

  • @ MaximusCerberus

Well, fair enough. But there are people who know it yet still continue to purchase apple's computer because they are willing to forgo price for productivity. I just feel that Apple has provided an effective user interface that even elderly could easily learn. I would like to hear your opinions on why you hate OSX and probably gain an insight of it if you wouldn't mind.

  • @goofywz

My gripe has never been about OSX.....despite the fact that it's insultingly simplistic for my tastes, and a bigger, wider security threat than any other OS in history.

My gripe is with the hardware, and the business practices of a company that is perfectly willing to badmouth it's main competition (Windows), while still having NO trouble utilizing Bootcamp in order to save themselves the disgrace of fessing up to their laughable, meager, shitty software support.

  • ...Compared to Windows 2000 covered in gloss with several rip-off features of the apple OS? Kinda sounds like the worlds largest OS developer continuing to rely on according to you the worlds smallest? That copying, living in apples shadow, never doing anything innovative with their until apple does...kinda rubs off on its users....

How bout this, name a some pieces of software were no OS X equivalent exists...

  • @MaximusCerberus How do you think a PC costs 299 and a Mac doesn't. Maybe it's that "clunky-ass hardware" they use to build it, Windows included. Yes, Mac can't compete in that price range because they are unwilling to ship a product made with shitty materials. I did extensive research before I switched to Mac and will never go back to Windows. For the record, I know a good amount about computers and Mac is defiantly a superior product. Mediocrity is what drives so many things today, It's sad.

  • "Yes, Mac can't compete in that price range because they are unwilling to ship a product made with shitty materials."

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT??? The same companies that make PC components make MACINTOSH COMPONENTS!!! Or do you REALLY think that Intel, ATI, Nvidia, Toshiba etc. are all making Mac parts???

Are you seriously going to tell me that the latest and most powerful hardware that ISN'T available for Mac (GTX295, for example) are GARBAGE QUALITY?????

    Wake the fuck up, slaveboy!

  • If Macs were "superior" products, then customers wouldn't be shipping back TRUCKLOADS of iMacs and Macbooks 2 years in a row because of piss-poor quality and horrible defects.

Defective video cards, cracked screens, screens with a yellow tinge, screens with lines in them.......some of which Apple REFUSED to fix, prompting multiple class-action lawsuits!!

And you're going to sit there and tell me that Apple is a superior brand?

Apple is INFERIOR IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE, and always will be.

  • Im curious as to where you get your numbers, please, show me.

Lets rewind to 1991, one of my favorite games have started development using average joe tools from Apple, and it became one of the most popular games of its genre, this is my favorite exampe of the power of the mac in 1991, doubt that the Windows side of things were as capable.

  • "I did extensive research before I switched to Mac and will never go back to Windows."

    - Yeah well, if YOU want to buy computers with outdated dual-core CPUs, cheap-ass $100, 512MB video cards, the SLOWEST DDR3 RAM on the market......(seriously, 1066MHz??? There are SIX BETTER CLOCK SPEEDS available for PC), and poor design, then fine.

Meanwhile, I'll be enjoying my ultra-high quality power rig that eats any Macintosh computer for breakfast, and will do so for the next 3-5 years.

  • Funny you mention that as in building similar machines that you often brag about costing significantly less either cost the same, slightly more, or not much less, and no, it doesnt include a Windows 7 license, and the cost of additional software that I get free with the purchase of a mac.

  • Perhaps you should check out CNET's review of the 8-core Mac Pro, the most powerful unit in Apple's lineup.

It FAILED MISERABLY in 3 out of 4 benchmark tests, only able to hold the lead in video conversion. And it costs $3299.

I can build a PC equivalent in my living room with the highest quality brand names in the world, plus FASTER RAM for $2000 bucks.

There's a sucker born every minute. Enjoy your substandard, overpriced joke of a computer that no one but the tech-illiterate care about.

  • Comment removed

  • Hahahahahahaha!!! Their GUI was a pathetic joke, buddy.

They didn't "revolutionize" the music player. They just came out with a fashion-friendly version of a product that shoved iTunes down everyone's throats and gave everyone a headache when importing their own MP3 files.

They didn't revolutionize the smart phone market. RIM did. Blackberries ALWAYS outsell iPhones, even to this day. Check your sales figures before you talk.

  • As for Microsoft stealing ideas.....um........no. You've been listening to too many bullshitting Macboys for FAR too long.

M-DOS was written by Tim Paterson back in the late 70's during his tenure as a MICROSOFT EMPLOYEE. He wrote it in college. M-DOS eventually led to MS-DOS, the most widely used OS of the 80s. It just went farther from there.

Consider yourself properly educated. Next time, get your facts straight and do some real research, lest I embarrass you again in the future.

  • And once again, you're recycling your same material...

Point to where this CNET article is, although I doubt its authenticity, as these results could have been butchered...

Interesting you mention that, as in building a similar machine, its costs came around to $2000, and $3100~ for the octa core...sounds like someones cutting corners.

  • I am not going to argue the same irrefutable point with you for the umpteenth time in a row. we've had this discussion 4 or 5 times already. Move onto the real issue that I posted about, which is the iPad, instead of trying to deflect attention from it by referencing equally embarrassing Apple products.

And a bit of advice? Reigniting a 2-week old argument makes you look like a loser.

  • Oh like the zune, xbox, and windows mobile?

Wait those are markets MS entered yet failed badly!

The iPad isnt my concern, its just another consumer electronic ETF, if anything Ill buy it just as a collectable, which is unlikely

My concern is the fact, that you're reusing your same material.

I guess as a mac user (well mac noob) I may be drinking a lot of that mac kool aid, but would hate to know what you've been swallowing from one of the CEO board members of Microsoft...

  • As for the Mac Pro, go ahead and tell me why a $3200 machine with supposedly kick-ass hardware couldn't even crack 30 FPS on COD4 at a measly resolution like 1680x0150.

No, don't respond, because all you're going to get is thin air. I just want you to sit there in your basement and ponder the question for yourself.

  • Oh so because some half assed port of some game is supposed to determine its preformance?

MS doesn't like to play nice, with their proprietary OS, which ties your hands behind your back, with crappy graphics extensions like direct...and costly development tools. OS X, all this crap's free, thanks ill stick with openGL and xcode.

Try pointing out a game programmed in direct, and one programmed in openGL on separate platforms.

    Btw...my house doesn't have a basement. ^_^

  • "Oh so because some half assed port of some game is supposed to determine its preformance?"

    - That's PRECISELY my point! Couldn't have put it better myself! A "half assed port of some game,"......a graphically simplistic console port......and the so-called "powerful" Mac Pro choked, stuttered and sputtered at a resolution that was considered standard 5 years ago!

Thanks for the assist! I'll give you credit on that one.

  • Thanks for showcasing your credibility, since once again you dodge all my claims and arguments, I could blame the commenting system, but instead I blame your inability to concede and admit defeat, or ability to read.

Kinda stinks of typical modern day liberalism if you ask me, but thats a whole other story all together.

Something's brewing in California, home of the biggest hollywood influenced apes on earth, and will make your trolling statements obsolete.

  • Well, let's recap:

    - You basically agreed with me about the iPad

    - You COMPLETELY agreed with me about the COD4 issue

    - You tried....and failed.....to make a solid case for the so-called "power" in the Mac Pro

Why admit defeat when I'm 100% right on every single point?

Seriously, if you're going to argue, then don't waste my time.

  • -You dodged 4 of my comments

    - and completely ignored any comments that make you look bad.

My argument being is a badly ported game from some 3rd party developer is a crap way to showcase a machines performance, try multitasking dozens of applications while having thousands of open folders for long periods of time, and see where that gets you. I have tried numberous times and failed on the windows side. Thats using high end hardware.

100% right by dodging arguments and claims?

  • You were going on and on about OpenGL and DirectX.

Unfortunately (for you), DirectX is a Windows tool that runs just fine under a Bootcamped Windows scenario. After all, you Macboys sit there and brag (incorrectly, I might add) that Windows runs the best on Mac hardware (a joke by any stretch), so now you're going to turn around and blame DirectX???

You don't make me look bad. You make me look amazing. I needn't lift a finger in response. I only do so to try and educate you.

  • Yet again, you dodge comments, claims, and arguments.

Direct, is a proprietary graphics extension, a bad one at that, requiring large amounts of hardware resources, higher development costs, more code, and availability only for the WinPC platform, unless of course you're running wine...

The bragging right your grinding your teeth at, is due to articles claiming that everyday tasks (which in fact didn't utilize directX) ran on a mac computer with similar specified PC's performed better.

  • Which was a complete load of bullshit, as Mac hardware is UNDERPOWERED compared to PC hardware. The only situation where it would matter is with two equally-powered machines, in which case the results would be the same. Running Windows under a layer of emulation would result in performance degradation.

Bottom line: Mac doesn't run Windows better. It'll run it equal, or LESS than a Windows machine, depending on concurrent hardware specifications.

    Thinking otherwise is simple lunacy.

  • Bootcamp isn't an emulator...In case you didn't know...

  • I'm fully aware of that. I am presenting a thought.

  • And if DirectX were such a terrible plague upon the software world, then the entire gaming industry wouldn't be embracing it as next-gen technology. DirectX 11, for instance, shatters EVERYTHING currently available on the market today. The differences between it and OpenGL are GLARINGLY APPARENT. Until someone writes a better engine that will be embraced by the main graphics houses, that trend will continue.

  • I could go up to "the entire gaming industry" and they wouldnt even know what openGL is due to corporate lobbying, and dishonest marketing, like a politician!

The unigine engine FAILED MISERABLY upon utilizing DirectX 11, whilst the OpenGL version slaughtered it, and you're going to stand there saying DX11 shatters everything?

OpenGL slaughters Direct without gluttonous amounts of hardware usage, thats a fact.

    You're motherfucked!

  • @Compwhiz128

If that were true, then every single major game design studio and game engine wouldn't be utilizing DirectX 10 and 11 as the SOLE, SUPERIOR rendering library.

or do you REALLY think that the Unreal 3 Engine and the CryEngine would be utilziing DirectX, just for the hell of it, even though it's an inferior platform to OpenGL?

Sorry, KID, but you're living 10 years in the past when OpenGL was the defacto standard . Those days are OVER. I don't live in the past, I move forward.

  • @Compwhiz128

u know nothing about opengl dude. it is practically dead. opengl 2.0 was a joke that offered nothing new and opengl 3.0 has gone down the tubes. max is 100% right u are living 10 years in the past and have no concept of just how bad opengl has lagged behind directx. i suggest you read up on the Khronos group and how they have been screwing opengl for the last 6 years now. there is no future in that library and everyone knows it except u, because u dont like microsoft.
