wow this dude was so amazing back in late nineties. I was in the banks that day that he did that ill nollie 360 over the banks wall. I think the footage showed up either in the zoo york mixtape or the one that came afterwards I think it was peep this. He must have tried that nollie 360 over 15 times but when he nailed it everyone went crazy. damn I miss those days from 96-99 when we would hang out at the banks and all the best skaters from nyc would chill and skate there.
go to a front everyone in houston TX(if you skate or like shoes lol) on here, anthony is a cool dude and i board i painted is in his shop check it out
actually I was joking. I see Anthony three or four times a week. He's actually skating allot lately, when he's not icing his joints afterwards...ha ha.
I can't believe after zoo he was out of the mainstream, sometimes, I just don't get why dudes like correa get dropped for someone who can grind a million stair handrail
correa basically canned himself from zoo, dude broke his contract by not giving enough footage, sometimes 5 photos a year and filming the amount they asked for.
95-98 was possibly the best era in skateboarding, damn anthony correa did so much good ledge shit that just went unnoticed, is he on anything these days? the last thing i can RECALL seeing is some stuff in static 2. adio maybe? i know hes from tx so...
damn and the new lakai vid has these tricks too, 97 marked a peak in skating that vids really struggle to meet up to these days, if you look at all the modern vids its all one trick, then cut to another shot of one big trick, its boring, what happened to following peeps doing efffortless lines of ten tricks in a row, its a lot better, now its all one off hammer tricks on big shit to better the film. yawn, bring back 97 yaraghhh!
I'm totally feeling what your saying, this vid, zoo york mixtape was so full of style (but where's the music gone from this part?) i stopped really watching skate videos after i saw that es menikmati, i mean the skating was really tech but just relentless, like what your saying, one big trick to the next, and shit tunes and too much trying to sell you shoes, like it would just be zoomed in up on the shoes the whole time. fuck that.
Check out the Static series. There have been three so far, and there is a fourth on the way. They always feature the kind of skating you guys are talking about here, and they are independent which means that the director (Josh Stewart) is able to pick the guys he wants in them, rather than being forced to work with a particular team or push a product. The parts are also made up almost exclusively of lines in actual streets, not the schoolyard and staircase mix you see in most videos nowadays.
