  • great setup you've put plenty of thought into that, an improvement on the last Bug out Bag too lol

  • Was that tarp ur only formnof shelter? Looked like a cheap plastic tarp.

  • hello mr radiorepair i am thinking of making my own b.o.b and i am goin to invest in a 40 litre m.o.l.l.e backpack and i was just wondering if you have any experiance with it

    all the best edd

  • awesome gear and great selection as well ive just got a camelbak bfm 500 about 5 months ago and have been rocking it as a camping/ hunting/ bugout bag it done it all very well top notch materials and the best suspension system ive seen on a militay bag check it out. im going to make a vid on it soon.

  • @secretsquirrell13

I was looking at the specs and I see you can max out over 3 gallons of H2O with the BFM500! Great looking ruck. I'll check out your video.

  • @radiorepair 10-4

  • get the pack u want and get a foldable solar panel.

  • @VvDracOvV

Looking into the foldable solar panel for a while now. I need to get one.

  • il buy that bag of you

  • @TheOctoman34

My wife would be very happy if you did! Thanks for the comment.

  • Finally the real one!

Radio: u realize that your fake video comes in 1st? The real is like 8..

    ?

  • @Rugghead98

Yeah I've been told that a few times now.

  • All i can say is 5/5*, Mod. 14 Randall nice, have 2 mod. 1

    thankc JC

  • I love the model 1 Randall "the original fighter" The model 1 actually feels more balanced than the 14 in my opinion. I think that the finger grooves in the 14 change the balance somehow

    Thanks for the comment.

  • where did you get your randal knife

  • The Randall model 14 was a gift from my wife. It was ordered from Randall in Orlando FL.

  • I'm amazed at how shocked some are at this kit. I guess some poeple are only willing to go so far for the survival of themselves and their families. I don't see anything here that a smart cop, firefighter or soldier wouldn't have. I fact, if you weren't in NYC I would recommend some flex cuffs, slugger shotgun or rifle, a few flash bangs or stinger balls, stun gun and a collapsible baton.

  • I too would be concerned by the appearance of anyone wearing body armor with night vision toting a prybar. The sad truth is that you might actually need some of that stuff to get out of a city in a disaster situation. Thanks for the comment.

  • @radiorepair Bro I work in manhattan also as a Local One Elevator Constructor. That key is useless unless you know how to get the car to the floor to open the door. Also if you do open the car door how can you be sure the car isn't going to move while the people are trying to get out? It has happened before!!! You have to know how to disable the car after you get it where you want it. Check out the Gerber LMF2 it has a glass breaker on the back and that I believe would get ride of some weight...

  • @wilcox1219 like the slim jim, and one of your knives! I really do think it's one of the best Urban Survival Knives on the market. There are also some light weight N95 masks that will fit in your pack take some more weight off and you could add a pair heavy duty leather gloves. Do you take this bag to work with you? I have a work bag that I out fitted for work that I'm always struggling with weight. If it is for work I would ditch the MRES. And get a real good compass and a emer. whistle.

  • I dont take the pack with me. I do have a G.H.B. which I take to work which is also tailored for work as well. I do have all of the items that you suggested in another bag which I will video later. Thanks for the comments.

  • @wilcox1219 We should trade some Ideas being that we both work in the city. Maybe email would be a better forum so we don't take up so much space on here...lol

  • Sounds good. I sent you a message.

  • I have the FD keys which should bring the cab to the floor that I need. Enter from the floor above and use the top cab controls to go up or down. Not that I would ever attempt a thing like that unless I had an elevator tech with me.

  • That won't bring the car to the floor if it's stuck! and when it's on fireman's service you run the car from inside the car not the top. What you would want to do to gain control of the car is to use independent service walk to the next the landing and run the car from the inspection control from the car top. But if there is a problem with the car. that could get you or someone else hurt maybe even killed. You should ask your buddy for a tomahawk just a key is useless. and how to use it!

  • wow, lots of things to comment on.

    1. where did you get the elevator tool?

    2. I think you might be a little overburdened with some of those things. a good idea to test your kit is to actually load up and walk to the edge of town to see how it works for you.

    5/5 though

  • The elevator tool came from a buddy of mine who works for Otis Elevators. It's the safety breakaway handle type and very lightweight. I actually did a few runs with the gear and to be honest it is heavy. If I really had to bug out I with my family I would probably stash/ditch most of it for mobility. Bugging out of Manhattan would be a nightmare in a vehicle so we would be "hoofing" it. What I could really use is an inflatable boat to cross the river.

  • @radiorepair Be careful messing around with elevators if you don't know what your doing! Your Otis buddy probably told you that already. I would Ditch the Bullet Proof Vest And All the Entry tools. I would replace them with Camping axe, Extra Batteries, A Heavy Duty tarp or Tent. First Rule is Shelter! Fire, Water. Your Bag Does seem more to Looting or Gaining entry into God knows what. And if thats what it's for, Get a Bigger AXE. lol Have Fun....

  • Your points are well taken. I am familiar with elevator safety in the course of my occupation I need to ride on the tops of the cabs from time to time. My wife has the spare batteries although I do carry some as well. The kit is not designed for B&E or looting just getting "out". Thanks for the comment.

  • I am ready to comment: From the look of things you plan is to loot, a break in to everything to survive. Lock picks, crowbars, bullet proof vest. WOW, your going to lug all that stuff around to and play warrior / bandit / looter. What a career change. $1000 of dollars in guns and fighting gear tactical gear and a TARP SHELTER. It's like Burger King with a paper hat. You don't need all that EGO FANTASY stuff to get out of town. However, keep it for now. The Martial Law dudes need it.

  • My kit is crap compared to this...

I agree that your pack pretty much covers all the basics when it comes to urban survival. As soon as I get some extra cash I want to model mine after yours. btw how much are the ecws pants?

  • Thanks! I thought that the slingshot was a cool idea for the BOB kit. I also liked your CVC balaclava. I lucked out on the ECWCS stuff. There is a flea market where I found a lot of new ECWCS GEN 1 stuff. I got the parka and pants for $40 total. I also scored a couple of large PASGT kevlar helmets (it was hard to explain the helmets to my wife). The ECWCS not DRMO marked and appeared to be new. Usually they run for over $100. Thanks again for the comments. BTW the hobo stove rocks.

  • I can't really comment on your bag because it is the first complete Urban Bug Out Bag I have seen. I like the flexibility to obtain entry into various doors, buildings. May help in obtaining food and shelter. Great Urban BOB

  • Thanks. I think that all the recent TV shows about urban survival have rekindled the imagination about "bugging out". Since 911 I had to deal with blackouts a flood which displaced my family for 24 hours and a fire. During every emergency I was zero percent prepared. My wife and son were better prepared than me, which I chalk up to complacency. The kit is evolving as with the others out there and I am always looking for hints on how to do it better.

    Thanks again for the comment.

  • i have tried a few packs but always come back to the large alice. it just cant be beat foe teh amount of weight it can handle.looks like you have a lot of money in your kit.

  • I actually had a large Alice pack which I was thinking about having modified for modular straps and possibly a bottom extention to be able to handle more stuff. My wife threw it out because she said it smelled funny! Spent a few bucks here and there, but I would spend a lot more on a realistic escape plan. Thanks for the comment.

  • the best mod you can do is get molle straps and hip belt, it feels like a new pack. i like the vest wish i could get one. these packs are addictive im always adding stuff to mine. if you dont have any might want to add some bump keys and a padlock shim to your pick kit, got a lot of nice stuff there.

  • ! agree on he straps and belt. I tried Tactical Tailor to have my Voltaic (solar panel) backpack modified but was told they only work on military style rucks. So now I'm thinking the CFP90. I have made a few bump keys in the past but there are so many different locks out there. I'm fairly good with the picks and can usually get into most pin tumblers in about 2 minutes. I need to use the "brute force" method if I come across side tumblers like Concept cylinders.

    Thanks fo the comment.

  • That's some heavy duty urban gear. You would definitely stand out against the bewildered masses

  • Standing out might not be the best thing at my QTH. I would like to be low profile to make my escape. Odds are I would be stuck attempting the exodus with the bewildered masses. Regards and thanks for the comment Gorntz.
