  • is there no chance for recocering or operation?

my girlfriend has also this injury from birth....

  • This injury has plagued me my whole life. Two years ago I had a total shoulder Replacement but the pain still persists to this day I am now 40 years old . If we can prevent any other child from enduring this type of injury thru a video like this I am all for it. Great video.

  • Also I'd like to share a story with all the bpi sufferers. When my daughter was born I was explaining her injury to colleagues and a friend said "I've got that"!! sure enough she demonstrated her restricted movement and we were all amazed we had never noticed! She said it had never affected her life, she just had to adjust bra staps differently on each side!she looked at it as a stiff arm and was amazed I was so upset bout my baby. Her attitude continues to give me hope for my girls future.

  • I'm from holland and i'm 16 years old. I have a BPI at my left arm, and it's very difficult to see this video. I feel different from the other kids and i don't want that. but it will never be better again so.. in the future i have to accept it!

  • Oh my God My granddaugther was the same and oxgyen deprive We have been throught it It has also cause behavior prombles They all ways ask Has she ever suiffered and kind of truma in life,Yes on her way in .THIS MY FRIENDS IS A MAN MADE INJURY IN BABYS

  • I was a victim of BPI at birth so this video is quite painful to watch. I would also like to mention that such an injury causes an imbalance in your whole body, which leads to painful back problems. Ill have to be treated for them all my life long. I already suffered a lot from them, and I'm only 26. I hope this video will prevent other children to experience that...

  • Finally a video worth watching on U Tube! My daughter too has this injury from birth and it is sad you only hear about this type of injury until it is too late. Your family will be in my thoughts!

  • This makes me cry every time I watch it. My son is now 9 months old and is facing surgery to fix his shoulder. He has spent many hours in therapy to try and prevent that, he has made tremendous progress, this is a horrible injury. I wish it would be stopped so no more children have to go through this

  • JESUS bless and heal these children in YOUR Name we pray †

  • Thanks for posting this. My 4 month old was just diagnosed with this. Before, she was diagnosed with torticollis and we were told that it was just "tight muscles in her shoulder/neck and not to worry about it". Now, they are saying the reason that her neck and arm do not work right is a BPI. I really appreciate this video. It helps to see what this is and what I can expect in the future. I really wish that hospitals were better at preventing these type of injuries.

  • Allison, you did an amazing job on this piece! Great awareness!

  • this ia very heartfelt and sad to watch. i have a son who has brachial plexus. its very devastating to the whole family but so much more to our precious children who are affected physically menatlly and spiritually by this dr mistake and carelessness. god bless each and every family who's going through this.dani

  • Thank you for making this video. It brought tears to my eyes. I saw myself in a lot of those kids as I have had a BPI since birth. I do believe that we grow into pretty resiliant people though. All the parents of kids with BPI's should give themselves a pat on the back because it isn't an easy road.

  • this is a great video! i am one of the lucky who went through this because after 18 months of phiscal ther. i did get movment back in my arm.. but still to this day i have serious back problemsand go to riley often.. i have very little strength over my left hand and when i use my left arm alot my shoulder blade hurts really bad.. i have never been able to play in sports at school that i love to play at home...i hate that!

  • my daughter was born with this kind of injury..she's better. i tell any mom to be about what happened...no one...i mean no one told me anything prior to her birth.

  • Wow Allison, well done!

It was almost too painful to watch. My daughter has had 2 surgeries with good results, thank god. We are all connected by our common link, our babies. Thanks for puting the video together. Education is power!
