@motibi Although "universal salvation" is not Biblical doctrine and limited atonement is a fact, that still doesn't mean the Gospel of Jesus Christ is not offered to all. I finally realized that beautiful truth of God's grace, and it gave me peace. But, like you said, only the elect will receive the Gospel and be saved. In fact, the Bible says "we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand." (Romans 5:2) That verse also gave me some hope. He who believes is not condemned.

But, the "all be made alive" does not mean every single person who ever lived on the face of the earth. That "all" is referring to all the elect. It refers to Christians who believe. 1 Corinthians 15:23 make this clear when it says: "But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming" (KJV). And so, basically, the fact that it says "they that are Christ's at his coming" makes it clear. Not everyone are Christ's. Satan has his seed, too.

Each many is taken together to show that many die (the Christians) and many shall be made righteous by what Christ Jesus did on the cross. And so, Romans 5:19 doesn't prove universal salvation. Often when "all" is used in the Bible, it's referring to all the elect or all the believers. Many people read over the Bible too quickly without studying it in the true context of what it means.

By implication those who aren't saved now are righteous since they weren't constituted sinners as Romans 5:19 shows. However Romans 3:10 tells us there is not one righteous.

@motibi Therefore, when you quote 1 Corinthians 15:22, this is what it really means: "All (Christians) died with Adam when he fell, but in Christ all (Christians) shall be made alive." In other words, 1 Corinthians 15:22 is not saying every person who ever lived will be made alive. See, you have to use very careful exegesis and see who the writer is writing to. People rarely get down and dirty with their Bibles. I didn't for the longest time until I woke up.

Notice how Paul singles out Christians as the ones he's writing to when he writes in 1 Corinthians 15:17: "And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins." See the point? He says your sins, not every person who ever lived. Unbelievers are not included. The bottom line is that this whole letter of 1 Corinthians is written to a select people: believers.

You claim that the lake of fire is only for a period of time, but you do so on the supposed belief that the two English words "eternal" and everlasting" come from two different Greek words - one for a never ending period of time - and the other for a finite period of time. @motibi Although "universal salvation" is not Biblical doctrine and limited atonement is a fact, that still doesn't mean the Gospel of Jesus Christ is not offered to all. I finally realized that beautiful truth of God's grace, and it gave me peace. But, like you said, only the elect will receive the Gospel and be saved. In fact, the Bible says "we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand." (Romans 5:2) That verse also gave me some hope. He who believes is not condemned.

But, the "all be made alive" does not mean every single person who ever lived on the face of the earth. That "all" is referring to all the elect. It refers to Christians who believe. 1 Corinthians 15:23 make this clear when it says: "But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming" (KJV). And so, basically, the fact that it says "they that are Christ's at his coming" makes it clear. Not everyone are Christ's. Satan has his seed, too.

@motibi "The many" is clearly referring to Christians who will be saved. Each many is taken together to show that many die (the Christians) and many shall be made righteous by what Christ Jesus did on the cross. And so, Romans 5:19 doesn't prove universal salvation. Often when "all" is used in the Bible, it's referring to all the elect or all the believers. Many people read over the Bible too quickly without studying it in the true context of what it means.

By implication those who aren't saved now are righteous since they weren't constituted sinners as Romans 5:19 shows. However Romans 3:10 tells us there is not one righteous.
So those many who were constituted sinners will have to be made righteous.

@motibi Here's the thing. Paul is writing to Christians. So, when he says "all" or "many," he is talking to Christian Corinthians and Christians in all places. This is clear at the beginning when he writes in 1 Corinthians 1:2: "Unto the Church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:" So, you see, Paul is referring only to Christians, not everyone.

In other words, 1 Corinthians 15:22 is not saying every person who ever lived will be made alive. See, you have to use very careful exegesis and see who the writer is writing to. He's writing the letter to those who are called, sanctified and call upon Jesus."

Notice how Paul singles out Christians as the ones he's writing to when he writes in 1 Corinthians 15:17: "And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins." See the point? He says your sins, not every person who ever lived. Unbelievers are not included. The bottom line is that this whole letter of 1 Corinthians is written to a select people: believers.

In fact, the lake of fire has been "prepared for the Devil and his angels," but the "cursed" will go there, for Jesus says in Matthew 25:41 "depart ye cursed into the everlasting fire prepared the Devil and his angels." Well, if 1 Corinthians 15:22 means that every person who ever lived will be made alive, then why do some go into destruction? Not logical at all.

And, it would be horrible to be parted from the God who made you for all eternity. Even if I were to be destroyed, I would not wish to be separated from God. You claim that the lake of fire is only for a period of time, but you do so on the supposed belief that the two English words "eternal" and everlasting" come from two different Greek words - one for a never ending period of time - and the other for a finite period of time. Obviously, noting that both "eternal" and "everlasting" come from the same Greek word destroys that theory completely! Note also that "eternal", "everlasting", and "aionios" are all adjectives grammatically speaking.

For example Jesus is said to reign "forever" in revelation (according to contemporary translations) yet in Corinthians we know that he stops ruling so that the God may be all in all.

In fact, Jesus even says "depart from me ye cursed into everlasting fire, prepared for the Devil and His angels" (Matthew 25:41). Now, it should be obvious as to why they're cursed. God has not redeemed them through His Son, and their sins were not paid for on the cross. The wrath of God abides on them. If universal salvation were true, there would be no one going to Hell, for their sins have already been atoned for.

Once again, your theory concerning the Greek word "aionios" is false. That whole idea comes from the Unitarian Universalists and some other folks, too. In fact, one of those denominations is now defunct. Any layman can read the Bible and see that "limited atonement" is a fact of scripture. God doesn't save everyone. He isn't obligated to do so.

I never passed out, but I had girl friends that did. @onstageagain That reminds me: I saw Benny Hinn in London (at the excel centre) three years ago. I went up to the stage for prayer - I don't remember being stopped. And my wife gave her life to Jesus there, and she got a free King James bible (from Benny Hinn's team) FREE. She still reads it today - and I have grown to love the 'King James' bible - thanks to Benny Hinn.
