It is bizarre that Boney M were 'German'. Because they had a German producer and were based there. Wiki says of Marcia Williams; "She was brought up in England and like many other aspiring artists, she moved to Germany in the late 60s where the creative environment was blossoming at the time."

Perhaps the Wiki article was written by a German as i doubt there were 'many' up and coming artist leaving England for Germany at the time. Vice versa, perhaps: Engelbert Humperdinck?

This clip was recorded October 1977 (no typo! 1977!!!) in Hannover for the yearly New Year's Eve Show which would be shopwn on Dec 31 on west german TV (ZDF in this case).

Both big public broadcasters had their own shows at the same time, and you would zapp back and forth if you were watching. They were never LIVE, but always recorded ahead.

BM had been guests with several tracks also in the 76/77 show, but this clip is taken from the 77/78 show.

I was six when this song came out. Boney M and ABBA was the music of my childhood. That was the real stuff, and not today's. I mean, even my children envy me for my luck to have grown up with this kind of music, because today they have nothing but a crap like Justin Bieber, Lady GaGa, Miley Cyrus etc etc.

Of course there is other stuff today; and of course there was other stuff back then (I mean, there were also Bee Gees, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Donna Summer etc etc - weren't they?). The point is - regardless of our individual tastes, today's music in general cannot (just cannot) be compared to the music of the 70s (I didn't even mention the 60s because the Beatles were in a completely different league altogether).
