  • Love the borough roll call..."make ya money"!

  • digable planets = tight de la soul type hip-hop

de la soul = tight digable planets type hip-hop

    hip-hop = tight

  • I think I just saw Jazzy Joyce in a Dj Webstar video on worldstarhiphop.I guess that was her dancing with the little girl doing the harlem shake in the chicken noodle soup video.I think it's the same Jazzy Joyce i always wondered what happened to her.

  • good era in hip hop!!!

  • beat is hot .Craig's afro is tight man^^

  • I found this listening to Candy on Snoop's album. Smh.

  • aside from this album being hid behind the veil of the upcoming Bad Boy Era, i also believe that it was a lack of promotion.

this album is what's up...a lost gem of Hip Hop. Lady Bug Mecca, is one of the most lyrically clever female emcees that never gets her props either.

  • yup!!!this is when hip hop was relaxing, not violent, and if it was violen,it was violent with brains......I was very small when I heard rebirth of slick, I loved it, now, hip hop its not the same...

  • exactly...i remember purchasing this CD and was just in awe of the innovation and the originality. it was dark, gritty and raw with live instruments and spoken word. their first album was hot, but this was different. it was beyond next level for them and they got screwed big time. Hip Hop is real though, and real people relate to reality....it's alive in us.

    one love baby...

  • @sagittariusrising74

I agree..Lady Bug is almost completely over-looked as a lyricist..but IMO they ALL were..but Buttafly NEVER gets any recognition as a tight producer...his tracks are ALL dope....

  • @AOSMUSIC You are so right!!!! Hotness...this album is freakin Classic.

  • @sagittariusrising74 yup, and Jean Grae too!

  • @sagittariusrising74 i agree, but hey when it came time for the grammy's, at least they won.

  • @sagittariusrising74 Very true!!

  • I don't get why this album didn't sell either. I had it.

  • What happened to Hip-Hop was when this song came out it didn't sell for shit!

People say they want the realness but they don't really buy it.

  • Dag, I see that we had the Fonk strong in the 90s too. I mean, I always knew that we carried the teachings of our peeps from the 70s and 80s pretty well but after looking at it again I see it even more clear.

  • not only is this song tight, but this video has mad meanin

i love that strut type beat, so good.

    hip hop what happened??

  • still can't believe 9th wonder uses fruity loops.

  • hell yea, the best shit is the simplest.

Blowout Comb is still an LP that can beat the crap out of all challengers.

  • yeah Blowout Comb was overlooked by the hip-hop crowd because it came out around the time Ready To Die dropped which is a classic as well but it shifted alot of fans away from stuff like this and groups like Tribe.
