Well so have I and I'm a lot taller than smurf boy and had a life like Jacks in some ways, so of all the people in the world to play a character like Jack, they pick Tom Cruise!!!!!!! I suggest everyone waits until the movie is made, watch it to see how it goes and then mobilize online groups to push Cruise out of the next movie.

Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher,you have to be kidding.I wont be watching the movie and I will never read another Lee Child book.What was wrong with using an actor that is over six foot tall instead of a midget.I always pictured some one like Dolph Lundgren but Tom Cruise what a joke.Lee child has sold out for the big buck,but then again he was never a James Lee Burke or a Michael Connelly!

He had a book signing here in town and said that after speaking with several actors, Tom Cruise was his favorite choice. i didn't like it at first either, but he said tom has read every book and best personifies the character and is able to fit the bill. I think I'll trust the judgment of the one who created the character in the first place, instead of throwing my book down and throwing a hissy fit.

This is silly. You're portraying it like an action film with a throwaway plot when in-fact, all the Reacher books have a decent plot with a great twist. Some better plots than others such as Tripwire, or The Enemy.

As a jack reacher fan, I dont really wanna see a movie coming out.

Because then there is a permanent face on reacher. I like my reacher the way he is, and he doesnt even have a face.

I agree that Vin, Rock or Dolph aren't who come to mind for Jack. Viggo Mortensen would be ok, if the movie is made before he's too old. The actor would have to be tall, buff but not Hulkish, good-looking but not a pretty boy, and look natural with a blonde crewcut. Daniel Craig would be ok if the director can make him look over 6ft and 250lbs. but look what was done for Sly Stalone. This role could be a career maker for an unknown. As long as Jack Reacher get's in theatres I'll be happy.

The actor with the closest physical appearance to Reacher would be Dolph Lundgren(maybe a bit past his prime now), really tall and well built with blond hair. Unfortunately he can't act. Johnny Messner looks really good for the part too if we coiuld overlook his dark hair.

I totally agree, I was talking entirely from a looks point of view i.e. Reacher is described as very tall and muscular with sandy blonde hair. Lundgren be a terrible pick for the part, and I'd probably skip the movie too, but he'd look right

1. He's British?
