my xp3 only lasted 6 weeks and then the keypad locked up..took it back to the store for my "3 year no-questions unconditional guarantee" and so far im stuck 4 weeks later with no phone and no further getting a replacement...dont beleive the marketing hype..Im truly disappointed

Yeah but if for example you're in a trip in a middle of nowhere, or at work etc... You can't always take a backpack full of a hundred Nokia 1100...

I'd rather think about this phone as an investment. It's perfect if you're a camper, hunter, work in hazardous/dangerous environements where you might need a reliable mean of communication if things turn ugly.

As for the price if you don't need that much toughness the Samsung M110 would do the job but way cheaper.
