I am a pianist as well as a guitar player, and even on paper this is not truely complex. The atonality displayed in this piece is very obviously and vulgarely done. When compared to a schoenberg piece, this is not complex, it is badly pieced ideas framed, and then called a piece of music. And the idea is not having to confront complexity, but to discover it. Listen to mediteranean sundance on guitar, and after listen to this. Or rachmaninov. That's what i called complex

I also enjoy the tempo changes Gorguts have in their songs, like most death metal bands, they take insperation from Jazz with Technique, time signutures, tempo changes all that good stuff, this is what makes this band so great, plus if i wanted some insane complexity i would listen to some Cryptopsy, its some good stuff, but if you hated this you would hate that even more.

Well it's nice to see you can argue without personal attacks. If every instrument is a rhythm instrument then why are the drums, and the bass known as "The Rhythm Section" in a band? Bass and drums are meant to keep us grounded rhythmically while the guitarist/pianist/ saxophonist/whatever is playing melody and/or harmony. In this song you can feel that rhythmic push from the bass.

Bass is not only for keeping time. It's the bass that lays down the harmonic framework for the song while also providing the beat.
