    Renee

  • @Elizren Hey Renee - thanks for stopping by...there is a tutorial for making the pockets at the end of this video.

  • All of your wok is so beautiful! I have watched a few of your videos and you are so creative. I am just starting out in my scrap booking and after I get enough supplies and tools to start my albums i hope to be as good as you one day! Brava!!! Thank You

  • @shedonburton1 Thank you so much! I love hearing that someone who watches my videos finds an idea or technique that sparks their own creativity. Let me encourage you to "start NOW." You don't have to have lots of supplies to begin expressing yourself with your art. Even this video shows you that I used plain old envelopes covered with scraps of paper. Use what you have - and add to your tools as you go. I can't wait to see what you create!

  • I am new to scrapebooking, so today you have shown me something new! Thank you very much!!!

  • @babyRoses7 Welcome to one of the funnest hobbies on the face of the earth! So glad you found something new to try by watching one of my videos! There is nothing that is more encouraging to me than to hear that someone watches one of my videos and leaves feeling like they can go and TRY IT! Have a great week - and let me know if I can ever answer any questions for you!

  • @babyRoses7 Welcome to one of the funnest hobbies on earth! Glad you felt like you learned something by watching my video...and feel free to ask any questions that you may have! Have a great week!

  • What fun watching your youtube video's. Such an inspiration. Thanks for taking the time to share your lovely things.

    Jennie from narratorreviews

  • @asassyvic Thanks Jennie - glad you are enjoying my videos. I always hope that people who watch my videos leave believing that they can take what I have done and find a way to use it in their own art....just sort of an idea or a starting point for them. Appreciate you stopping by and of course, thank you for your kind encouragement!

  • I just love your projects Jann! And yes, I would love to see how you did the front cover and the binding with the ribbon please :)

    Smiles

    Jen

  • I am totally confused where to stick the red tape and if you glue anything together

can you help me I tried doing it but stuffed up need extra help

    Colleen

  • thank you very much for sharing, your work is Beautiful.

  • I love this technique. Thank you so much. I would love to see how to do the front so if you would do a video that woudl be great. Thank you....

  • Very nice album. Love the three envelope pockets.

  • @MsJaay101 thanks so much! This is one of my favorite "go to" tEchniques for creating pockets for minis. Let me know how it works for you if you try it.

  • I have just bought my very first inks and stamps ever. So watching your video I have a question that may seem idiotic to all you who are proffs:) How did you stick the envolopes on the the cover?? This album if very beautiful and all the things in it. It is very inspirering watching these videos even though whatever I make it will look like a child did it next to what all you talented people do;)

  • First of all let me say, "we all started with our first set of stamps and some ink!" So I am excited for you that you are embarking on this new adventure! Secondly, I think I create my best art when I approach it "childishly" with no fear of failure so I hope you will get your stamps out and make a GRAND MESS! To answer your question about attaching the envelopes, I used a very strong double sided tape called it red liner tape

  • I tried this and I used 5 envelopes. Lots more storage with the tags and photos. Wonderful idea - thanks for sharing.

  • @SilverOneJ I would love to see how yours with the 5 envelopes turned out -- bet it was FABULOUS! Now you have my brain working overtime trying to work it out in my head how that would look! Thanks for sharing the idea!

  • @WhatYouMakeIt1 I wish I could do a video of this procedure, but I do not have a video camera. I could probably do a slide show of sorts. I'll have to work on it.

  • You have to do a tutorial! Maybe you already have seeing that I'm viewing this vid in July! If you have a tut on this, could you share where I can find it? Thanks!

  • HI I LUV UR MINI ALBUM HERE how do i look up your precious tutorial on this...? your fold out section here??? Lina

  • That's funny...I just watched the video that you are referring to, in which she made that multi-fold-out mini!

  • So beautiful. Would like to know how to make this album. The colors are wonderful.

  • Just Awesome, i love the idea of taking something so simple and transform it to something amazing ie: simple envelopes = gorgeous album... Wow Wee !!

  • Beautiful!

  • Love your book. I'm going to fold my envelopes now so I won't forget. Thanks for

    sharing.

  • Hi Jann! I found your videos - yay!! 1) Can you bring this book to Jenni's next month? and 2) did you use black envelopes on this? I'm trying to figure out how they're black. Where'd ya get 'em? Love this!!!!!!!! Your ideas are so advanced and out of my box but I want to try some of them! It is great to see you in action!

  • so how many of the folded page units did u use here?

  • wowza she got a two-fer lol how cool! I'm totally digging that birdcage stamp on the tag. The cover is stunning.

    Stephanie

  • Why does the spine sound metallic? OMG, the fold out part is absolutely FAB. I love your tags, especially the butterfly. How did you figure all that out????? You amaze me. Thanks for showing how you came up with the idea for this. You have one seriously crafty brain!!!!

    Leslie

    Leslie

  • @boknstet Ooops, sorry didn't mean to click the "Post" button twice. Can't delete it either.

  • Hey Leslie...the spine is cardstock....but I ran it through the cuttlebug to texturize it and then added Mod Podge to give it a bit more strength and that may have made it sound like metal -- and then my "ever present" rub and buff to give it the "look" of metal. I appreciate your encouragement....sometimes the brain works...and sometimes...not so much! *smile*

  • Your mini book is beautiful, but I cannot imagine photos in it -- it would hide all the lovely creativity.

  • Brillian idea with the litle extra envelopes - will have to try, keep the ideas coming, lol.

  • Jan, I LOVE THIS!! I see you have been playing with envelopes...lol I just watched your CD holder video. I love it, you do crazy things just like me! Hugs!! Carlene

  • Carlene...I think it should be FUN don't you?!?!? The ladies that attend my classes are always surprised if I come in with "typical" things for them to scrap with -- and I actually kind of like that they never know what to expect!

  • @WhatYouMakeIt1 YES! It's a total challenge for me to use something you would never expect in my minis. :> I like to think it's part of my "signature". And yes, it makes people wonder what's coming next! :> We think alike!

  • OMG OMG i cant believe i found you on youtube! love you! love your creativity and thanks for sharing your gifts!!!!! HUGS !

  • Thanks for the tut to show how to make it. I'm going to give it a try. :) Great job and very pretty, loved the paper you used TFS!!

  • I really like this mini! TFS.

  • Thanks for showing us how to make the envelope tag mini. RoseS915 envelope technique was a great idea, but yours was easier to follow. Thank you!!! Your tags were so pretty too. I liked how you bound the album as well. Thanks you. Coleen

  • Stunning mini albums! I am such a newbie so I feel almost numb by all the things I am learning.(Not hard to do for me, lol) I watched the mixed media collage video twice and did something similar to a scrap book page today. You are very talented, what a great gift you've been blessed with.

  • Thank you so much -- your kind words mean so much to me! I am so glad you used the ideas on a scrap book page!

Always feel like you can ask questions or run an idea by me (or anyone here on the YouTube community) -- every single one of us were "new" to crafting at some point.

And just so you know -- I am totally in the process of learning too -- I love watching videos and trying new things...for me I try to remember being 5 yrs old and what it was like to pick up a paintbrush with NO FEAR!

  • Thanks so much! I appreciate you stopping by -- I am working on a tutorial on the cover and should have it to post soon!

  • So how do you not end up with one big envelope opening on the envelope fold out thing? That makes no sense....but like when I open it up....the tags fall together from the various pockets....maybe cuz it's 2 in the morning....I can't think straight....but I doubt it....I think I just don't get it....still....it turned out kind of cool....I just want the pockets seperate....thanks!!!

  • Hey Kathy!

Mine kind of did too until I got the pieces of paper attached to the various sections....it made the envelopes stay folded a bit better (and that holds the tags in place). Try it again at around 4 pm and let me know if it gives you any trouble...and I'll be glad to help! *smile*

  • That is so beautiful. I would love to see a tutorial on the mixed media element for this mini.

    Beautiful work. :)

  • I would LOVE to do a tutorial on how to create mixed media backgrounds -- or covers for frames or book covers. Thanks for asking -- it is not officially on my "to do" list.

  • I meant it is NOW officially on my "to do" list. Sorry -- my fingers got ahead of me!

  • Great job on the "addendum" mini. :-) Rose at "RoseS915" did a tutorial on that envelope fold out on her channel a few months back. I haven't tried it out myself, but it's the neatest thing! :-)

  • THanks Arlene....I knew I had seen it -- but couldn't find it when I wanted to start working on it. I love how many little spots you can hide away journaling and extra pictures.

Appreciate you stopping by! Have a great week.
