@DanseFou Thanks for that video....you know giving an example for me to see what you are saying helps get the point across. I totally see how this helps your focus and training capacity as an athlete. Thois is good for coordination and responce time training....I will surely incorporate this into my training....
Thanks for such constructive feedback supported by an example....please send more ideas my way.....and I'll subscribe to your videos as well
i could tell the first second you put your first foot on the ball thats it not 100% pumped, if it was you would get more benefit out of it, also going all the way down so you get full range of motion for the inside of your hip extensors(also you can add weight in a backpack to use when it gets too easy). Check my video for good use of balance balls with pushups(3 balls)
Nice job man - Impressive that you were able to get on the ball without holding on to anything...I always have to hold on to something when I start out. Keep up the good work!
A Ballet dancer has greater balance w/o any ball training. Balance skill is counted only when it is performed on daily life surface e.g. grass, wood, floor. It's not even plyometric and the manufacturers of these balls don't recommend you do it anyway. Stop waisting your time and do some star jumps, burpees, bunny hops, tuck jumps, kettlebell snatches/swings/squats instead. Your performance increase on the hockey pitch will be ten fold.
Listen MikeEves1, thanks for taking and spending time to comment on my plyomax videos...but honestly some of what you say makes no sense.
First you are telling a guy who just got called to the training camp of an NHL team his wasting time? Is he not more of an athlete than you? If I'm wrong back your words by actions. Post a video of what you've done or where your training has taken you to! Else how else can I or any athlete take you seriously? Talk is cheap like they say.....
@plyomaxcoach I second MikeEves1, where exactly are you apply force? How does this produce or increase force? It doesn't. You have been called to the training camp because you are a talented player. The intra muscular co ordination you have developed through playing, and the genetic talent you have always you to perform such exercises as above. I would doubt there are many exercises you would not be able to accomplish or perfect, its why you are an athlete....
@plyomaxcoach this exercise however is not the reason you are a good athlete. In fact is does nothing for your sport or athletic ability. Look to increasing force production and let your 'balance' training be done on the ice. A high jumper spends their time constantly jumping, therefore you wouldn't take them into the gym and get them to jump more. You'd work on something else. You should do the same.
Secondly you never tell a hardworking athlete with solid recommendation and crazy potential they are wasting their time when they can "take you to school"
I think you mean well? But seriously back up your talk....I am a coach and I'm calling you out to back your talk with solid actions. Else all I'm reading from you is blah blah blah : ) It's easy take a video and post
@plyomaxcoach You could try doing box jumps onto two solid tractor tyres. In this way it would be plyometric. As you jump down, you use the recoil to bounce up. Then keep repeating.
Thanks for even bothering to write something. But seriously In the world of gentlemen athletes and intellects, if this is the best your education can get you to say regarding the training of an athlete then on your behalf I apologize to all who have to read this intended vulgar interpretation from your eloquent mind of a supposed athlete trying to jest but exposing his superciliousness

Check out my video of adam hoffman to see squatting on a exercise ball properly :)

That's crazy, I can't imagine the amount of progression it takes to get squatting on an exercise ball.

Try balancing something on your head so you are not thinking about the balancing on the ball. Diversionary training.
