We have state capitalism, where research and development are sponsored by the tax payer, the losses are also paid by the tax payer like you just saw with the bailout and will see with the coming austerity. I'm getting so sick of people talking about how great Medicare is. Usually they talk about user approval (why would people complain about a service that comes at no charge to them?) and then talking about how efficient it is when it has unfunded liabilities that are soon going to be greater than the gross world product.

the name calling isn't necessary. let's have a legit conversation.

most of the things ron paul calls for are good things, and totally logical. the problem is his solutions are nonexistant. I.E, he wants to prevent the 'too big to fail' banks from returning. how does he propose we do that? kill the FED. it doesn't make any sense. The real way to do that is to enact common sense consumer protection laws and 'regulations'. If we would have had those, this whole crisis would've been avoided.
