  • One of the best and more detailed reviews i have ever seen...nice!

  • Okay, I have a couple questions. First, with having a GBA emulator, does that mean original GB roms are accepted just like the VisualBoy Advance emulator? Second, can other emulators be added to the device? Such as zsnes or FCE Ultra? Thank you for the review, you've convinced me to buy one. There are also cheaper on DealExtreme than on ThinkGeek.

  • good review.

    no gba, get a dingoo.

  • Does Mother 3 Play well on the Dingoo?

  • I got a dingoo for christmas and it is amazin! I just installed dingux on it!

  • do you know the average price of it? because i really want to get one

  • @51rickjames 100 dollars it's worth every penny

  • @Mplstory lol thanks

  • if i ever hear uumm for the rest of my life it will be too soon :)

    but really helpful

  • There is a Dingoo program that supports Overclocking, which makes the games run much better.

  • Hey, how do you get games on to it? is there a site you can download games for it? Like, a collection of game downloads somewhere?

  • It look amazin but is it possible to download a new snes emulator?

  • @Shadowkirby64000 Yes, PocketSNES. Go to dingoonity . org

  • CAN PEOPLE IN THE UK CHARGE IT UP ALSO WHAT COUNTRY IS THE CHARGER THAT COMES WITH IT IF THERE IS ONE

  • @TechHeroPower from what i have seen all of them come with the us charger but they can be charged via usb and u can also use any usb to wall charge (not just the one that comes with it)

  • @Zepthire thanx

  • Thanks for the wonderful review I think it'll hit all my needs mp3 player video player and rom archive holder lol.

  • excellent review! I learned a lot about this nice little machine.

  • Nice review !!! > but your Chinese is terrible !!!! :D

  • @dexter20082001

Definitely Dingoo. Its cheaper and has better controls, while the main attraction of the wiz is that is has emulators for more consoles, which is irrelevant for you.

  • Great Review! Ordering one tonight

  • Is it possible to change emulators. Like can I switch the SNES emulator with another one?

  • @GamerNGF Yeah i got mine preloaded with another one on dingux. Works better with some games. other games such as chrono trigger really slow on both

  • @GamerNGF Absolutely. You can also install other emulators, I have a GameBoy Color, an Atari Lynx, and Sega Master System on mine, running on the original firmware. There's a great community out there.

  • Nice review. Good work!

  • do all the roms come with it (SNES, megadrive, yada yada?)

  • thinkin bout gettin one

  • Is there a way to connect two Dingos for multiplay? There are so many games that i would like to play with someone.

  • also can u PLEASE make a video on how to upload games

  • @geoffgoesgood you type roms on goggle and pick some roms that you want, download them and transfer them to your dingoo

  • hey, about to buy this how is the snes, sega genisis ( or mega drive ), and neo geo. this will really help my decision on it.

  • i mean like rate them 1 to 10

  • @EvilOverlord42 can u add or get rid of emulators or does it just work with the ones it comes with? also can you put windows formatted emulators on it?

  • Thanks, I've been considering buying this. I think the very good gba support plus the support of FLAC makes this a must buy for me.

    Nice review.

  • The chinese man...you dream it they build it.... Awesome.

  • The plastic quality is very similar to DS Lite. It will collect grease marks or fingerprints which aren't too obvious unless a light is reflected on it. Same with dust.

This is great for playing games. Much like a GBA Micro but far cheaper, more versatile and free games.

  • What if you want to use it just for the games? Is it worth it then?

  • @Darkspines22 Yea it works great for gba and NES games

  • does the white one leave marks or attract dust?

  • How long does the battery last?

    Can you change it?

    thank you

  • 7 hours. And then it should be chargable. :o

  • can you install a windows-based emulator on it from your PC, like RockNES and Sega Fusion, and will they work (or will it only play the built-in emulators??)

  • Can you hook it up with another Dingoo to play 2 player games with a friend?

  • That smw rom must have been edited, there was part of a row of layer 3 border missing on the title screen. Trippy shit like that don't happen in bad emulation.

  • looks good ill have to check out the gp2x next

any recommendations compared to that one?

  • If we live in AUstralia - will we have to use a stepdown converter to charge the unit? or it doesnt make a difference which voltage we use?

    US = 110v Aus = 220V...please let me know.

  • Hey,

this should not be a problem, because you can charge the device with using a standard USB plug. Just plug it into your pc or USB wall charger.

    -- Michael

  • when you plug it into your PC - does it charge while you are uploading? or does it only charge via the wall charger?

  • Both. It charges while you are using it as a mass storage device, uploading files or when using a simple USB wall charger. I use the one from my HTC mobile phone and it works nice.

    -- Michael

  • very good review! but i have a qustion.... what happend to the psp? psp is much better

  • How is your dingoo? I have ordered one for my self. Have you tried to overclock it? I have heard that snes emulation it has some slow downs. What is anoying that you have to order from HK and this takes time to deliver. Hopefully will arrive in 1 piece otherwise months of waiting for a replacement.

  • yeah the snes native emulator is very cheap. Some games only work with skipping the frame and sound off. I have dingux and the snes9x works very good with almost every game from the snes.

  • Excellent review. Thank you!

  • Very nice review. Thanks!

  • what about the gba one? does it run slow?

  • gba runs better than snes only problem games ive seen so far are golden sun 1 and 2

  • what about zelda minish cap?

  • runs near flawlessly thats the main game i got it for and to play mother 3

  • :( i miss chuck

  • I saw super metroid on your Dingoo. How well does that play?

  • Great review. Considering ggetting one of these there awesome!

  • Thank you for the review, it was very helpfull, it got me interested in the device.

  • Ive done some research and if you run linux on the system instead the emulator lag will be fixed and everything should run at full speed, plus you can use linux apps

  • otherwise though, great review, im gonna order one soon so i can play games that my acekard cant handle

  • Great review. I'm still somewhat content with my old GP2X (not a wiz just one of the old f-100 ones) but I'm seriously considering getting a Dingoo especially since the price seems totally reasonable.

  • woow, danke werds mir holen

  • I am definitely going to get this thanks to your review. Now I just gotta wait until Christmas (ugh).

  • same here (not being old enough for a job sucks)

  • The video on this ain't really up to scratch the colours sometimes don't look right kinda discoloured

  • @patsybob I'm thinking that it's just the white-balance on his camera... I can't be sure because I don't own a Dingoo.

  • cool thx

  • It can't play N64 Games, maybe the Pandora can (doubt it)

  • The Pandora does claim to be the most powerful handheld, It all really matters on whats on the inside I guess, cause you cant really compare it to lets say a mini laptop cause the pandora was made to play Games on it.

  • Do you know for sure that the GP2X WIZ can play N64 games???

  • Man hört ja voll, dass du Deutsch bist xD

  • ok so nintendo 64 wouldent work on this?

  • its very hard to find n64 emulation on handhelds, the DS though had some n64 games could barely handle them, and some required an expansion pack. i think (some) n64 emulation on handhelds will exist next gen from how powerful these things are getting

  • the PSP daedulusx64 emulator is coming along rather well, and it's actively being worked on.

  • yeah but i highly doubt it will get perfect emulation with the exact same results as you get from the game console itself

  • I agree, since even the PC 64 emulators aren't perfect.

  • Not to mention the Roms aren't perfect as well (Perfect Dark with the spy cam thing perfect example, or Captain Falcons head replacing the textures in SSB)

  • Very impressive device. Good review.

  • I love when he says very nice :D

  • THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS!! I don't have 200 bucks to spend on the Wiz. I was trying to see how this compares to the Wiz.

  • awesome

  • great review im thinking of buying this but i have some questions.....do you have to download the emulator games on it and how does the 3d gameing work? im very curious about the second one and the answer will probablly sway my decision so please get back to me

  • I hear it plays games on the fly; just copy the game files into it, as it has its own emulator. But I think you can look for other emulators for the Dingoo too, if the built in emulators aren't good.

  • kicks the ipod nanos ass

  • The fact that it doesn't play SNES at full speed was a COMPLETE turn off for my to buy this. I have to search for another product :(

  • use overclocking application. also you can install a linux version to make it play infinitely more applications and emulators.

  • This is not true, if you download for dingoo new firmware (custom are better) you can play fully.

Also dingux (linux for dingoo) has nice emulation for popular consoles!!

  • @Makell If you install custom firmware that has an overclocking app, you can play the games at very good speed.

Also, if you have a miniSD card, you can get the so called 'Dingux' on it that has a much better SNES emulator, that can play most SNES games at almost 100% speed.

  • could you upload more games to the dingoo?

  • Eine Kurze Frage: Wie lange hat der Versand von DealExtreme gedauert?

  • wow really good review. im going to buy one now because all other reviews did not go into detail like you did i was skeptical however now i am sure i wan one.i wish i could puy games like nacht der untoten from cod that would be the shit.

  • Thank you for the review. Man I regret buying my crappy ipod now.

  • Good review man. That's a good system.

  • i dont' know how to put games on mine!!! damn it

  • could just get a dsi and acekard :P

  • Does it have games on the emulators or is it only the "3D Games"

  • i love the design, its like a ds lite cut in half

  • I wanna see a size comparison with a GBA Micro

  • too bad the SNES emulation doesn't work so well. Does teh PSP emulation have the same issue?

  • Yes. badly

  • Really want one now, great review! Also good to hear that it ships to Europe with no probs (I guess your German).

  • Good job on the review. I'm very tempted to buy one now.

  • Really good review, 5 stars.

  • Great review man. Thanks a lot! :)

  • i wished to see the NEOGEO emulation... hope in a new video...

  • I like this console because you can do all in 1. Except THE CAMERA

  • thanks mangue

  • Thank you for the review. Much appreciated.

  • how long did it take for you to get it from dealextreme?

  • hmm not bad for that price

  • thanks great review... im getting one... i found the website but didnt know what this thing was... so u helped me allot

  • Very nice review, just ordered mine.

  • I really want one! :D

  • Very useful, thanks.

  • I don't see why a slightly slower frame rate for snes games is such a problem, at least the display is decent, that would be my main concern. nice review.

  • I totally second that. It looks playable and also I never had a sega or snes so if that's a tad slower I prolly would never notice..

Getting mine in like a week or so, will be sent soon so I'm very curious. Gonna do a review too. :)

  • wheres your review?

  • In post production. :P

  • very nice i am going to order min in a week or so

  • I came at the mention of "Strider"

  • i want one of these

  • Nice review. Did Star Ocean runs on it? Or any SNES Game using a special Chip?

  • you should of really compared the dingoo to the ds OPENED UP !!

i was hoping you would do that. i really wanted to see the screen size compared to it.

  • I don't think you can open it. There aren't any screws visible on the outside.

  • i meant open up the DS. as in UNFOLD it. not keep it closed. show the screen.

btw, it IS possible to physically open up the Dingoo. there are screws under the rubber feet at the bottom.

  • Oh.

    And again, oh.

I don't one yet, so I've only seen images and videos.

  • Yes, it alows to save through emu "save states" ;)

  • Does this gadget save your game progress?

  • really good review. i think im going to get one, but i dont have a mini sd card so i just wanted to know whether it comes with one or not?

  • It has built in memory, 4GB to be exact.

  • I'm planning to buy the Dingoo to watch videos and play Neo Geo games.

The most part of the time I watch animes with english subtitles, so I would like to know with this screen is good enough to read the subtitles.

    Thanks.

  • Could you demo the web browser?

  • its not a web browser its a file browser

  • I need a comparison for this with the Delightfully small (DS) model CVFH-N03-4G. I do not know if that is the same thing as the dingoo because it looks exactly the same, but I would purchase it if it could do SNES and Sega perfectly.

  • Chinavasion? It's the same thing, rebranded. It's cheaper at Dealextreme however (free shipping).

  • Great review, man, great review. I ordered myself one yesterday!

    Best Wishes from Germany :)

  • thanks, but the start of mario world looked fine to me this side, or did i miss something.

  • Thank you so much! This was a very helpful review! I was ready to go and buy one right now until I saw that the emulation was kind of slow.

Is the emulation even slower on other games? Also I heard that there's a problem with the auto frame-skipping on the emulators, so if you just set it to skip 0 or 1 frames it runs much better. Is this true?

The Dingoo got updated and someone also figured out how to hack the system, so there will be custom themes and applications coming soon! I'm excited.

  • Those ROMs are preloaded with this system or you have to hunt for a website to download them?

Because once I tried to download Mario and Donkey Kong Country games but I couldn't, Nintendo had license of those games.

By the way, very helpful review, already ordered one.

  • Hm. Deception for the SNES and Genesis emus... But it still looks very nice for its price. I'm gonna consider getting one. Thank you for your helpful review. :)

  • How well does it emulate the snes/gba 3d games, and do you know how many 3d homebrew games are in the works for this? I know there are a couple, seen some vids.

This thing seems like the whip. Between all the complete ripp off junk made in china, there are hidden gems like this. I also got a ipd touch rip off, lol.

Seems like a hacked psp can do most of what this does though :-/

  • so do you have to get a fw update or can you just play the gba, nes, snes, sms

  • no, the emulators are on the machine by default.

  • Is a miniSD card exceed from device or it is all in device? Thank you for rewiev *****

  • And can i listening to MP3s from 3.5 mm jack conector?

  • yes.

  • no, it is completely flush with the device.

  • It is flush with the casing.

  • Yes, I have it working with a Kingston 8GB MicroSD and a MicroSD-to-MiniSD adapter.

  • Does a 8gb card really work?

  • How long battery? Is it always a US plug?

  • Yes, there is always an us plug with the package. The battery is very goot, far better than i expected.

  • How many Amps?

  • i don't know. the battery is not removable, so i can't tell.

  • Can you make video comparison between dingo and gameboy micro? Thanx a lot !

  • Mmmh..not that easy, because I don't own a gb micro. Sorry.

  • hey evil overlord how's the feel of the controller? good enough?

  • Yeah, it is really nice. Almost like the one on the ds. Very playable. But time will tell if the buttons can stand long term hardcore gaming ;-)

  • they only sell one

  • yo i have a question

  • I wanted to see someone play games on the emulators so I could see the speed. I really wanted to see the Neo Geo that's main reason I ordered it.

  • I am about to upload a review of the CPS1/2 and NEO GEO capabilities. Will be on my video list in a few minutes.

  • Hey you forgot to review the cps2 and neo geo emulator. I ordered a dingoo yesterday from dealextreme and the two emus I'm most intrested in are the ones left out. I'm REALLY keeping my fingers crossed that they will be able to run complicated games like recent Kof and SF alpha 3 at full speed but that would be almost too good to be true. Apart from that this was an AWSOME review. Btw I love German!

  • I am now uploading a video showing CPS1/2 emulation with SF2. Stay tuned!

  • Great review, your accent is awesome. I ordered one from DealExtreme too, it should be here in about a week. The thing I'd love to see is the Dingoo hooked up to a big LCD television with the tv-out function. I know the quality won't be fantastic, but it would be a lot better to judge what all the features are that way.

    Thanks for the video :)

  • Awesome.

Hey, is the GBA version of SMW any different than the SNES?

    Maybe lower textures, IDK.

  • Almost the same. Sound is better. resolution a bit lower. You should try PC emulators for each if you really want to know.

  • Nice review!

(Your English is pretty funky :D)
